"Comfortable, Quiet Stay"
I stayed here for a few nights while on a business trip. I had originally booked a room with a king bed, but when I arrived they said there was a high demand for that room type, and if I switched to a room with two double beds they would waive the $20/day resort fee, so I went ahead and swapped. The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom was also spacious and well-appointed, and the entire hotel was very clean. The beds were very comfy, and I had a nice view of the city. I went to the outdoor pool at night to swim some laps, and while it was chilly outside, the pool itself was heated and very warm, so that was great. The indoor Jacuzzi was also nice to have after a long day of meetings- again, both facilities were well kept. The staff was all very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the cafe, to the valet. I liked the location, it's right in the Gaslamp quarter, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. I was by myself so didn't explore too much, but there was a great breakfast place (Brian's 24) a 5 minute walk away, and some other great spots less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. My only (slight) issues were that they have an onsite cafe/shop that sells light fare and sundries, but it closes at 5pm. I came back one night around 8, and just wanted a soda, but there are no vending machines or anywhere else to buy drinks except for the bar/restaurant. Luckily there is a CVS just down the sidewalk, but it'd be nice to either have the shop stay open later or at least have a vending machine somewhere. The hallway my room was in was very quiet, but I did notice the walls are pretty thin because my neighbor had their tv on all night, and it was pretty loud. Lastly, I ordered their room service one night, and for salad, pasta, and a drink it was $70. There was a 20% service charge, a $5 delivery charge, etc. The food was decent and the service was good, but for what it was, the price was exorbitant. Overall, the hotel was nice and if I was looking to stay in the Gaslamp quarter again, I'd consider this hotel again.
This is a decent mid level hotel that is clean and well appointed. The room is fine and the bed is comfortable. Spent a minute at the bar and Jeff the bartender was friendly and entertaining. He even went so far as to stuff blue cheese olives for us. I would recommend staying here if you need a place in the gas lamp district.
"Great place for vacation or business meetings"
I've stayed here twice for a business conference and both times were fantastic! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food is great and the location is A+++. Jiovanny was the nicest guy and always had a smile on his face. I highly recommend the hotel.
"Accomodating Stay and Great Location!"
We spent 4 nights at this hotel and enjoyed the friendly staff and hotels cozy room. We travel with a small dog and appreciated the no pet fee especially since she is the best guest and leaves no traces of her self in the room.. I would recommend this hotel to any one wanting to visit the Gas Lamp District in San Diego. You won't be disappointed!
I was there for only 2 days from the East Coast for a meeting - what a waste not to enjoy beautiful NorCAL for a bit longer. Easy check in, nicely appointed room, close walking distance to quite a few restaurants and local attractions. Meeting rooms were very functional for our day and 1/2 meeting. Gym very adequate, NO complaints!
