"Great for meetings"
I stayed here for a conference held in the hotel. The staff were incredibly pleasant, the room was clean and had plenty of power outlets, the wifi was good, and there are plenty of places nearby to catch a tasty meal. Also close to trains. I would happily return.
The Westin Grand Frankfurt is a very comfortable hotel in an awful building from the outside. If your taking a romantic trip to Frankfurt, don't choose this hotel, but if it is business do go there. It has perfect rooms, a more than elegant breakfast buffet, impeccable room service and friendly staff.
"Decent business option "
Decent, if uninspiring, option for a business hotel in central Frankfurt. Pluses include: friendliness and helpfulness of staff, decent Japanese restaurant, good business lounge & the duplex suites are lovely. To the negative: the place lacks charm, the Chinese restaurant is straight out of 1987, and the bar area unwelcoming. The Jumeriah, Villa Kennedy & Steigenberger are better, if more expensive, options.
"Good hotel but not considerate front desk"
Location is right next to metro station, very close to My Zeil mall. Rooms are nice. Plenty conference room and a great bar-lounge. Front desk wasnt so considerate to allow early arrival or late checkout. Its €25/hr for late checkout.
"Grand brand name, but needs serious improvements"
For starters, the staff was very good --both professional and helping--, but they couldn't make up for hotel deficiencies. The location is very good, just a few meters from a metro station and the city's main shopping street. The room and the bathroom were of course above average, although not really luxurious or impressive. But two issues really degraded the experience of my stay: 1) The room was cold, and the "heating" system was unable to produce any real heat to make it warmer (and that was in the end of August, I dare not think what the room temperature would be in the winter). 2) Internet was extremely slow, making it difficult to even surf the web, and totally impossible to communicate through Skype etc. This issue was affecting all my colleagues (we spent a weekend in the hotel for a congress), and was causing strong complaints. Even the premium (=paid extra) Internet access we were granted for free was slightly better, but not good by any means. The hotel guest services manager read the feedback I wrote when I left, and was professional enough to follow up with me, aknowleging the issues and apologizing, but still I didn't enjoy my stay as much as I should have. Such issues need immediate fixing in a 5-star hotel.
