"Best hotel by LAX"
Superb Westin Hotel experience. Beds, bathroom, shuttle to the airport. Kids loved it and wanted to stay here when we come to LA next. Said that they thought fancy hotels were never close to the airport.
"STAY AWAY.....ACTUALLY RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION"
Stayed there last week for business travel so I didn't set the bar too high (my standards are higher when I travel for leisure). Even with the bar set moderately low, this hotel failed pretty badly. Where do I start' The rooms smelled very musty.....notice I used the word roomS, as in multiple rooms, as in I had to be changed to 2 different rooms within my stay due to different issues with each room. The front desk staff completely ignored the information on my reservation and assigned me to the wrong type of room. Once I got in the room, it smelled of cigarettes and staleness. The dust bunnies were hopping all off the air vents - clearly they aren't doing a thorough job of cleaning these rooms. The room was at the end of the hall next to the fire door, and being a solo traveler, I didn't feel comfortable staying there. Aside from that, I reserved a king room, they gave me a double. I called downstairs to discuss the mix-up regarding the room, the lady had no explanation for why they assigned me a double and she acknowledged that she saw my reservation said king room. After I dragged my luggage downstairs to the front desk to get re-assigned to a new room (because they told me I needed to come downstairs and get the new key, they would not bring the key to me) I came back upstairs to my new room and it smelled just, if not a bit worse, than the first room. The new room was filthy - dusty, and dirty sheets, and there was a rolled up pair of socks under the coffee table which was apparently left from the previous occupant. So now on to the good things about this property.......lovely lobby, great food in the restaurant.
"Easy spot to stay"
We booked through Priceline and got a below average deal should have booked through Westin . Room was average front Desk was great Room was average Bed and pillows average. Fitness room below average weights missing from room 15 and 20 lbs equipment was noisy Bike needs a service, pool was messy Coffee shop is pricey, A buck more than Starbucks come on!!!!
Room was comfortable and fine. Water did not get hot - stayed lukewarm at best. Shuttle from the airport - All hotel could tell me was that it will be a 15-30 minute wait. I had no idea if I'd be waiting for 5 or 25 minutes, so this was inconvenient. I suggest using GPS so people waiting at the airport have an idea of how much time the shuttle will take to arrive. Employee at check-in was extremely rude. Coincidentally, the same person checked me out, was extremely brusque. I requested an email copy of the receipt, which I never received.
"Good airport hotel"
Usual great beds, being a Westin. Rooms are comfortable, although the bathrooms are looking rather dated. Food was good in the Grille restaurant, lobby comfortable to sit and chat. My only complaint was the airport transportation, Westin does not use their own buses but contract a them out. Crazy driver, was very scary ride, a lot of the passengers were concerned that we would arrive without an accident.
