Our stay at the Westin on Canal Streetwas superb. It was a very busy weekend with Mardi Gras and the pro basketball event going on at the same time. The price was great. The shower was to die for. We had breakfast buffet and it was wonderful. We will absolutely stay there the next time we go back.
We loves our stay at the Westin. We had a beautiful view of the Mississippi River from the 22nd floor and it was so peaceful. It was perfectly located within walking distance of all the areas you wanted to see, but removed just enough that you could still seek a bit of peace. The room was spacious and comfortable. We would definitely stay at a Westin hotel again.
"Gorgeous views, great location"
A good location for a business meeting in New Orleans, the view of the river from the lobby is without rival. Being on the edge of the French Quarter makes it easy to get to any of the Quarter's many restaurants and music venues. The Westin is looking a bit worn these days and could use a renovation. It wouldn't be my first choice for a social visit, but fine for business.
"Good Location for Rock N Roll Race"
I stayed at the Westin for my Rock n Roll half marathon weekend. The hotel was conveniently located to the start line and the packet pickup expo, which was great, plus walking distance to a lot of the touristy must-see spots. When you enter the hotel, you actually need to take the elevator up to the 11th floor where the main lobby is located, and then take a separate elevator up to the rooms, which was slightly inconvenient. However, it is attached to the Canal Place shopping center, which could be a perk for high-end shoppers. The quality of the hotel was fine. Clean and nice, but not quite as luxurious as other Westin hotels I've stayed at. No major complaints, though. One small piece of feedback is that it was the RNR preferred hotel, but they had no water available on race morning. (They put out water at the welcome area during check-in, but the race started very early in the morning.) I would have appreciated the extra gesture in catering to runners, especially with the new marketing of Run Westin and trying to position themselves as the runner's hotel. If I return to New Orleans again, I probably would stay at a cheaper hotel, but I still do love the Westin brand.
"Amazing hotel w/ everything you need!"
Wasn't sure what to expect as we have never stayed in a Westin Hotel. Needless to say, this hotel, staff and location was amazing! The hotel is located in the heart of everything we needed to see. From a brisk 10 min walk or quick 5 minute uber we could see everything we wanted to see. What's even cooler is that it had its own mini mall inside in case you needed to do a little shopping. Of course the bonus for me was that it was right across the street from the harrahs casino so I could gamble lol. The only bad thing about he hotel was that you had to take multiple elevators to get to different parts of the hotel. Kind of confusing at first. Felt like a maze but got used to it after a few trips. The hotel rooms were decent and if you forgot anything they pretty much had it at the front desk like most hotels. Staff was very nice and always around to answer questions. A few restaurants in the hotel as well but unfortunately we did not get to try any. In all, we would 100% come back and stay at this hotel again. If not New Orleans whatever city we decide to visit next!
