"Classic Parisian Hotel"
Stayed in Westin Paris Vendome for a weekend. It's was an amazing experience, one that is definitely for the books. Location: Westin Paris Vendome is located in the Vendome area (high end boulevard with the hall of justice, Ritz, etc.). The path to Westin Vendome coming from the Opera is a very scenic walk. Westin is actually adjacent to the Jardin du Tuiliers and you can have rooms with a view of the gardens, the Louvre and the Eiffel. It's 5 mins walk to Concord and the train station. Rooms: The rooms are quite small, as expected of a classic Parisian hotel. It reminds me a lot of many movies I have seen about Paris. Our room was perfectly situated at the top most floor, with a view of the Parisian city scape and rooftops. My wife and I fell in love with it. Old, a bit eerie, but that's part of the charm. Amenities: Standard amenities to be expected of a 5star hotel. The did not have coffee/tea or a perculator. Service: The staff is super! Totally debunked the "rude" connotation of a Parisian. Myline, one of the girls at the reception, is the best! Cost: Can be quite pricey.
I enjoyed my visit at this Westin thoroughly! The lobby and common areas smell divine! Its their white tea fragrance which you also can purchase from the spa! We had a stunning view from the room! We could see the Louvre, eiffel tower,Notre dam and the river! The breakfast was a bit disappointing! Very limited fresh hot selections for vegetarians! Not very prompt service! The concierge and front desk however were very courteous and friendly! Overall a good experience except for the breakfast!
The hotel has a great location, very close to the Louvre and the Tulleries Garden, the rooms are nice, but not the best and the bathroom small. The great thing about the hotel for me was the breakfast, with amazing variety of option, fresh bread, fruits, yogurt etc.
"Expected a lot more from this category"
I only stayed one night and as the old saying say:"it only take once to make a first impression' It was way below my expectations for this category, the staff was friendly but not efficient, the room was clean but noisy, thin walls and windows, I could hear every outside noise as well as every move and say of my neighbor. I won t go back for that kind of money. The location is really good.
"Stunning views of Paris from this hotel"
We arrived in Paris by train and took a cab to this hotel. Check in was fast and easy. The 1st room we were given was on the 2nd floor facing the park, the ceilings were about 15ft high and it had tall beautiful french doors leading out to a small Juliet balcony. The only problem is we couldn't see much over the trees because we were too low. We requested another room (since we were paying for the view) and they accommodated us by moving us to a room on the top floor facing the park, Eiffel tower, and Louvre. This hotel was very nice and we were also able to walk to many attractions, dining, and shopping from it.
