The Westin Nusa Dua lived up to its well deserved tag of a iconic international business/holiday destination hotel. It is classy and smart. Your initial impression as you walk into the enormous Reception is one of quality. It's also evident that this is a hotel destination for large scale corporate functions. The outdoor pool area is impressive. Very spacious, with a dedicated children's area. I think they even play family movies to entertain the children for a few hours. Or at least they did when we were there. But the rest is devoted to luxury adult relaxation. It's all very white silks and rattan, with bars and a beautiful restaurant abutting the ocean walkway. The rooms are beautifully appointed, with rainforest showers that make you gasp!!! amazing. Our only gripe was that other than in the hugely expensive rooms/suites, the balconies were tiny, and you certainly couldn't sit out at any stage. But I guess the grounds of the hotel itself might make up for that. Talking of grounds, they aren't typical Balinese whatsoever, no lush green grass or tree canopies under which to escape the heat. Very mod, and very minimalist, but plenty of shades and cabanas that look very chic! Overall a quality establishment, with everything you could wish for...except a balcony I guess!
"Very relaxed resort - perfect!"
A typical large Asian beach resort, very professionally run... super-friendly staff. It's huge but never feels crowded on beach, pool, restaurants, bars. I was here for a large sales meeting (events were held in convention center next door), and it was ideal because I could combine it with a bit of yoga and surfing. Yoga - awesome, very knowledgable teacher from Rishikesh - Jitendra. He has two classes a day, you can just drop in. He is very helpful with questions and corrections for the asanas. Surfing - to the right is a small peninsula with a beachy istmus... when I was there there were small waves on either side of it at high tide. The hotel does not rent boards :-( but right at the istmus they have a range of fiber, soft and paddle boards to rent. May have to reserve since they don't have many.
"Still good after so many years"
Stayed here with my family over the Christmas weekend. Second time here after 5 fives, and still found it very comfortable. + Massive grounds, so even though the hotel was full, it didn't feel crowded + Same for the breakfast and pool areas. Plenty of seats and lounge chairs available every time we visited + Extensive buffet selection at breakfast, and changing everyday + Complimentary afternoon tea was nice + Didn't eat at the restaurants, so can't comment, but the hotel is just a short cab ride to very good (and much cheaper) restaurants nearby + Stayed in a Family Suite, and there was plenty of space for our family of 5 - I have to echo some previous reviews about the depth of the main pool. At 2m, it's far, far too deep. Not sure why they decided to have such a deep pool, but I think they should rethink this - Hotel is, quite naturally, starting to show a little signs of wear and tear. Still comfortable, but perhaps time for a refurbishment soon
"Nice and comfortable... but..."
The beach could be better! Just felt the beach didn't look as pristine as its photos! I had a lovely stay here. Great selection at brekkie. Nusa dua's an expensive place to stay at, but I think my stay in this area was made better by nice and comfy room in Westin. Word of caution: The shuttle bus to Bali collection is usually packed. Walking is good - 15 mins walk tops! For taxi, there is a minimum charge of 30k rupiah for any departure from hotel - which is not worth since the ride probably costs about 10k only'
