We had a wonderful stay at The Westin resort & spa Cancun. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms are clean. The breakfast was not cheap but excellent. Concierge is very friendly and helpful.Comment of B. Patrick , Belgium the 2016-08-19
It's was our 1st time in Mexico & had flown along way just to be their, coming from Australia . We normally take holidays every winter over seas & I must may this was the best hotel & service buy far. The moment of arivel we were givin a lovely room in the royal club the staff there was amazing & made sure our stay their was just as amazing . I was very sad when the time come to leave . What any traveler wants the Westin resort sure have beautiful rooms , beautiful views , the best staff , free wifi to keep in touch with loved ones while away & free drinks after 5pm each day . Heaven on earth that's for sure !!! We were actely traveling for 6 wks & I must say the Westin certainly set the bar high for any other hotel we stay at now ! When we left cancun we flew to cabo & I have to say I wish I was still at the Westin . Thank you for such an amazing experienceComment of F. Brooke , Australia the 2014-07-17

"Excellent Sevice and amazing food"
All the servers at the resort were fantastic. Our server at he main Lobby Bar, David Dzib was amazing. He was always around asking if we needed anything and suggested food items off the menu. His contagious smile and hard work was present in his work ethic We had stayed at the Beach Club, and again I would highly recommend it, The rooms are larger, have balcony, and it also includes breakfast and a happy hour from 5-7 daily with the drinks complimentary, The servers there, Felix Ramierez and Luis were fantastic. They made it a point to remember our names and more Importantly, our drinks. They were always smiling and enjoyed there work. For Dinner we had gone to both restaurants, the Arreciffes, and the Sea and Stone. The servers, Pedro, Lourenzo and Wilberto bent over and beyond make our evening a remarkable and enjoyable night. My wife had told them it was my birthday, and they brought over a cake and sang a rendition of Happy Birthday. We have been coming here for the past 6 years and on every occasion, the service has been A++++. The General Manger for the hotel , Nicholas Cejais made it a point to come around and introduce himself to us. He personally thank us for our loyalty and for choosing the Westin Hotel. When we returned to our room we were greeted with a lovely cheese and olive tray. This was unexpected, and appreciated greatly. Nicholas was very personable and was open to any suggestion, and let us know if we needed anything to call him and he will address any shortcoming, or pass along any kudos to his staff. MY wife and I will continue to back knowing how well we will be looked after .
"Great staff, rooms, and beach"
The staff, all of them, were the friendliest I've ever experienced at a hotel. They smiled anytime they passed us in the hallways, restaurants or on the beach. This was truly one of the highlights of our visit. Our room had high ceilings and was spacious enough to spread out in. The A/C worked great and there was both a bath and a shower. The king size bed was quite comfortable. The beach was never too crowded and there were always chairs and a beach umbrella available. The sand is perfect and the ocean is calm, but with enough waves to keep it fun. The food was okay, but not great. We ate in all of the restaurants and didn't find one that was exceptional. The breakfast buffet has a great spread, though even with all the choices it was a little boring eating there every morning. It was the only place at the hotel that served breakfast. This hotel, at the beginning of Hotel Row, was family and couples-friendly. If you're looking for party central, this isn't the place for you.
"Westin average but not bad"
we arrived at 5am and got to check in right away which was nice.. we originally had booked a king size bed ocean view but they didn't have it available so they offered us a double bed ocean view if we wanted to check in at 5am instead of 3pm with no charge...sure why not seemed great to me. room was a good size with a great view. beds were comfortable enough...the a/c was super strong so made the room real cold which I wont complain because im always hot. while I understand they are still updating the hotel and for the price we paid I cant complain my stay was great staff is great. only issue I had was the room service took way too long and the food was subpar especially for 1 and a half hour wait. the beach location is amazing and not full of people its nice and calm would stay here again.
The Westin Resort has a magnificent Beach. This is its Crown Jewel. In addition, because it is near the end of the coast, it is very very quiet. We had a room on the ocean side and enjoyed the sunrise every morning. The room itself was good, not great. Unfortunately it is dated and needs some upgrade. But, it was very clean. Additionally, sounds travel rather easily through the rooms via closing doors or moving furniture. There are several very good places to eat. El Palmar is great for breakfast. Arrecifes is a terrific Mexican restaurant. Sea & Stones is a great Steakhouse. We also enjoyed lunch at the Sunset Grill and Bar. We took a five-minute walk off the resort to a fantastic Seafood restaurant called Navios. It is on the water and on the Laguna side with a magnificent view of the sunset. The staff were also excellent and catered to our every need.
"Wonderful beach time with family"
While there are great reasons to go to the beach in Cancun, I cannot imagine suggesting to anyone to chose this Westin. Older property that needs upgrades and maintenance but mostly, they have horrible service. We stayed at the Royal Beach Club, which should be better part of the Westin, but wasn't really. We sat out of sight of the back door of the hotel, so service was worse. Seems like the servers were not comfortable getting out of sight of the back door. We are actually in the middle of our stay, but we have been so amazed at the slow service, it is time to write a review. When we would order food for beach service, within 40 steps of the pool, we would wait for almost 2 hours to see food arrive. That is just weird! drinks will be served sooner than that, but not quick. Normally, i just go to the door and catch a worker to order. Yesterday i gave a large tip, to hopefully get some consideration, and i think it mattered to the server, but not to the kitchen. It appears that they are just short on servers at the RBC The beach is wonderful. The views are fantastic. The location is great for us, but not everyone, if you want to be in the thick of things. The resort is at the bottom of the hotel zone. Fine for us, but probably not for those who want to be closer to the party. Room bathroom is a little smelly, probably mold. But again the beach is nice, and we have had a lot of fun just chasing waves. Hard to complain, but the hotel should staff up service, where you feel like you can just have a blast and spend money on drinks and eats, without planning ahead
