We had a wonderful stay at The Westin resort & spa Cancun. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms are clean. The breakfast was not cheap but excellent. Concierge is very friendly and helpful.Comment of B. Patrick , Belgium the 2016-08-19
It's was our 1st time in Mexico & had flown along way just to be their, coming from Australia . We normally take holidays every winter over seas & I must may this was the best hotel & service buy far. The moment of arivel we were givin a lovely room in the royal club the staff there was amazing & made sure our stay their was just as amazing . I was very sad when the time come to leave . What any traveler wants the Westin resort sure have beautiful rooms , beautiful views , the best staff , free wifi to keep in touch with loved ones while away & free drinks after 5pm each day . Heaven on earth that's for sure !!! We were actely traveling for 6 wks & I must say the Westin certainly set the bar high for any other hotel we stay at now ! When we left cancun we flew to cabo & I have to say I wish I was still at the Westin . Thank you for such an amazing experienceComment of F. Brooke , Australia the 2014-07-17
Stayed because I wanted to visit Mayan ruins, and this hotel suited the purpose. The rooms are spacious and airy, the staff were fantastic.Comment of M. Alan , Australia the 2014-04-25
"Family break en route to Cuba"
Stayed in the Royal Beach Club - excellent facilities, wonderful view from our room on the top floor. Superb service from Felix Ramirez - nothing was too much trouble for him, always happy and smiling - a real asset for the resort.
"Relaxing but dated"
Room was OK and clean. Balcony overlooking the lagoon was a pleasant enough place to sit for a while. The hotel overall is a little dated in comparison to some of those further down the road towards town. It is also one of the furthest from the town, which admittedly places it beyond the rowdy spots. Bus service from near the entrance direct to town for pennies, and its only a 10-15 minute bus journey. There are a couple of shops within walking distance. The breakfast is very good and will keep you going all morning no problem. There are 3-4 choices for dinner, none of which are amazing but all are acceptable. The beach is - in common with all the others- lovely. Pool on beach side with bar is OK but the one at the back tends to be quieter and more relaxing. The bars at the beach seemed to stop serving very early and the cocktails are nothing to write home about. We got a very good price and it was ideal for a family with two young kids. Easy enough to get into town but quiet enough to get back early with the children and relax in relative peace. We would probably lookl elsewhere next time for somewhere a little more polished and newer, but would still not be unhappy if we ended up back there..
"Perhaps 3 Stars is a bit generous"
I have stayed in Westin Hotels many times, but never experienced one so mediocre as The Westin Resort & Spa in Cancun; it was far below the standards I have experienced before from Westin. That said, let's start with it's good points, the staff. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The Concierge, Adrian. could not have been more helpful. His suggestions were spot on and his follow up extraordinary From there, it's downhill. The place is tired & dirty; it desperately needs a facelift. The food, mediocre. There are limited places to eat and the food doesn't even match the food in off the street restaurants at much higher prices. Guacamole I'd be willing to bet was made with peas as opposed to avocados. Breakfast was adequate and probably the best meal they serve. Their "fine dining" was Arreifes. Portions small, food bland and way over priced for what you got. For dessert, I ordered Tres Leches. It was horrid! A small, dry white cake covered in a bland sauce. Gratefully, I only ate a few bites as I was kept up that night with lower GI problems. The location is poor. It is the last hotel on the bus run with not one restaurant or shop in less than a 15 minute walk. Bus trips to town are long, but much needed. Don't even try eating frozen french fries or small portions of fajitas with limited sauces for a week. It's a non smoking hotel, but people on our floor were smoking in their room. This is a Westin to remember to forget
So I was only there for 18 hours, for work. Breakfast buffet was very good! Fruit was fresh, and the French Toast and scrambled eggs were amazing. The fitness center was very well equipped, comparable to any upscale hotel in the U.S. If getting a good workout is important while you are on vacation, this gym will fit the bill. I probably wouldn't pay out of pocket to stay here though. Too quiet for me. Not much happening around the pool or on the beach. I prefer music and lots of people. Also, I prefer bars and nightlife within walking distance. The pool water was cold too, so didn't swim. The room was nice, very nice bathroom with separate shower. Slightly humid, but not bad compared to other hotels I've stayed at in tropical locales. If you are just looking for a few days and nights to soak up sun and have some drinks, this will do.

We have been staying at this hotel for 25 years and will never change. The reasons are great location, wonderful staff and nice rooms in the RBC. Special thanks to the General Manager and Hotel Manager. Upon arrival I had a nasty fall (I have to use a cane) not the hotels fault. Within a few minutes a life guard came for first aid and shortly after the hotels doctor showed up. The hotel paid for the doctor and the manager was at my side the whole time. We got calls every day to see how I was doing. There was not a lot of damage just scrapes and bruises. It shows how much they care about their guests. Thanks also to Lizbeth Galeana for the wine and nice card for our 50th anniversary, the staff at the RBC breakfast and RBC happy hour and Rita who kept our room very clean. I have read complaints about room service taking 30 to 45 minutes. When you order delivery pizza it takes that long. If you want lunch at noon order room service at 11:30. I would highly recommend the Royal Beach Club they are larger rooms with a 12 by 9 foot private balcony with chairs and coffee table. The extra cost is worth it a free breakfast buffet and free happy hour from 5:39 to 7:30 with all you can drink and finger food. I miss not now being to watch the sunrise over the ocean while having coffee. Traveled 12 Nov to 19 Nov 2017 as a couple. Gerald Wilkins
