"Really nice place to stay"
This hotel was a beautiful place to stay. Each room overlooked the water with a nice balcony to sit on. Very relaxing. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was nice sized with great facilities. There was complimentary bottled water in the room. The breakfast was great each morning. While we didn't go into the pool, the pool area was beautiful and stayed busy with other guests swimming. The resort area is very hilly, but there is a golf cart type transport to take guests to and from their room to the lobby. Getting from the lobby to your room was much easier than getting transport from your room to the lobby. On two separate occasions when we called for transport to the lobby, our transport hadn't arrived within 15 minutes so we ended up having to walk down. Luckily, we were only a few buildings up the hill rather than on the very top. While this hotel is only a 15 minute drive to Old Town, it is very far away from the other more populated areas such as Patong Beach, Karon Beach, and Kata Beach. It took us almost an hour to drive over to Patong Beach to check it out. We did prefer the quiet of the Westin, though. Patong Beach was much more touristy.
"The staff make it a 4 rating..."
Stayed for a week with my wife celebrating a special birthday. Unfortunately no upgrade or cake or fruit etc. which would have been a nice touch as i forewarned the hotel (we received a much nicer reception in the Banyan Tree in Bangkok for example). It is a proper resort and not a hotel - almost village sized with 3 pools a smallish gym and a large spa set on a private beach. It also has 3 restaurants - general, Thai and Italian. The good... The staff were amazing. Always friendly, happy to help and can't do enough for you. The restaurant food was very good (we ate in the Thai and the Italian) and breakfasts were not bad (aim for the renewal breakfast at EEST - not many people do but it is much nicer). The rooms were a good size and all have a view of the sea (although lower ones can be blocked by foliage as ours was). It is very hilly but they have golf carts to carry people around. We tended to walk but a lot didn't. the bad... Cost! Almost everything had a charge - from wifi in your room, to shuttles into town. Food was expensive, drinks even more so (cheapest bottle of wine c. £45 - and it was pretty ropey!). Standard Thai beer around £5 a bottle that you can get for £1 in town To get to town took about 15 minutes and cost 150baht/person (c. £4) in the hotel shuttle that runs until 8.30pm (last return 9.45pm). Taxis from the hotel into Phuket were a minimum of 400 baht (£10) although from town to the resort we paid 250 baht - am unsure why the resort based taxis are so much more expensive as they are essentially the same. The beach was 'OK' very uncrowded and had some free non-motorised watersports - however the sea was not great - water not clear and a little rocky as many East Coast beaches are. The accommodation wasn't as clean as it could have been and there are tell-tale signs of the hotel needing a bit of TLC around the place. Partly because the resort is essentially in the jungle I suspect - but some little touches would have made all the difference. Depending on your point of view, this could be considered charming! All in all, we though it just made a 4/5 - mainly because of the staff - particularly given that I paid the same cost/room that I did at the Banyan Tree in Bangkok - and, frankly there was a world of difference in pretty well every area.
"Perfect Hotel for Chill-out and relax"
The hotel is located at the peninsula of Ko Sire, east of Phuket town. the transfer from the airport to the hotel takes around 50 minutes. the hotel itself is a wonderful resort that is accomodated in pure nature, so you have almost a little bit the feeling you are in the jungle. the rooms are really good and every room enjoys a sea view that is very nice especially in the evening times when the sun goes down. The hotel itself has 3 pools where you can relax and sunbathe. in total there are 3 restaurants where you can have dinner in the evening. throughout the day you can have food at the pool as well. To reach Phuket town you can either take a local taxi or go with the hotel shuttle for a small fare. the hotel provides as well shuttles to Patong Beach. If you go out of the hotel there is after 300m a small massage salon where you can enjoy wonderful massages for a local price. what i have to point out negative about the hotel are two topics: 1. The prices in the resort for food & beverage (except still water) are ridiculously high. A beer for around 9 dollars is just not appropriate in my opinion. As there is not really an alternative around the hotel cause it is isolated, the hotel knows exactly that guests stay in the hotel and have their drinks there. I think there is definately room to improve. 2. The cleanliness in the rooms is not a good level. the cleaning is being done very superficial which is definitely not a WESTIN standard. I would come back to this hotel again and enjoy its hospitality!
"Overall, a great place..."
This hotel was wonderful, it had 3 pools and multiple restaurants and I ensured to get a room with a view of the ocean which was amazing. The food was delicious, the rooms were beyond comfortable and the bathroom had all the amenities and more. The lovely patio furniture was comfortable and a nice place to chill and read my book. I took this trip for a little R&R before starting a new role and it was exactly what I needed. My only negative was the number of children making a ruckas, which I found really disappointing being a single traveller looking to relax, in a quiet surrounding. Considering they have children's swimming pools and entertainment areas, it was frustrating that parents utilised the areas for adults to entertain their children. Those amenities were some of the biggest reasons I booked this hotel, as I have had issues in the past with similar establishments. Overall I would highly recommend it and I am definitely going back next year
Stunning resort, beautiful view, nice rooms ,restaurants and swimming pools..nice staff too.they have shuttle to take you in the city ,plus so many taxis waiting just in front of the lobby.very easy to travell from there . Lovely stay. I recommend
