"nice property close to phuket town but not good enough for a westin name"
the location of this hotel on its own is lovely. it's close to phuket town (taxi is necessary to get into town and the hotel is about 1 hr drive from the airport without traffic, which tends to be bad during rush hour), if you ever need to go there, but it's far enough to feel resorty. the staff are nice but rather far from being outstanding. the rooms are lovely but some of the furniture is old and needs serious updating. the pools in the resort are lovely and have great views. pool bar staff could use significant retraining. checking in as gold, we were told there was no room upgrade available, only to find out that several other people without status were upgraded on the same day of arrival. while our regular room was quite adequate, it is rather irksome to find out that non-status people get upgrades when you as a status holder do not.
"Lovely Experience; Great Platinum Recognition"
Westin is far from popular tourist spots like Patong (on the other side of Phuket). This is what we really liked about the resort - being away from big crowds. We were given a quiet room for SPG platinum guests, which was slightly further away from the crowd. Our breakfast area was also separate from other guests, which we really appreciated since Westin is really popular with large crowds. What really set Westin apart from other hotels, however, is its Associates' attention detail and thoughtfulness. My boyfriend and I came as part of my annual birthday celebration. On my birthday, I came back to a very nicely decorated hotel room. I was surprised with a chocolate cake and a handwritten card, signed by all the Associates at Westin. I was particularly moved by this act of kindness, which made me feel really at home. I'd like to commend Jessica and Masami, who made my stay truly memorable. Will definitely return.
"Great Food, Spa & Ambience"
Fantastic spa, food and service at Westin Phuket! Lots of food options and staff were very accommodating to make food vegetarian! Had one of the best facials I have ever had here. Their spa services are a must try. Would highly recommend Westin at the nice quiet Sirey part of Phuket :)
"Dirty and outdated rooms!"
The door was dirty and outdated. Bugs everywhere, the smoking room smelled like smoke, and the furniture was falling apart. Sorry to sound so dramatic. Fortunately, SPG and the hotel refunded us, and cancelled our stay. We were able to get a good deal at the Naka Phuket, and transferred immediately.
Stayed early November - 4 nights. It's a lovely hotel, yes WiFi wasn't included, but it's free in public places and it was 300 bhat for 3 days and that's an alright price (i've paid much more elsewhere). The room was lovely, the pillows great and the view (we stayed at the very top of the hill room number started with 162x) was breathtaking. We got to view some very beautiful sunsets. It has pools, gym etc. Let me tell you their breakfast literally caters for everyone. I have never ever looked forward to breakfast as mush as did when we were staying there - crepes, pancakes, english breakfast, fruit, yogurts, pastries, toast etc etc etc. And most importantly they have got lots and lots of coffee!!!! Now I wasn't impressed with the cost of food at their restaurants, it was literally cheaper to get a bus/taxi out in town and eat there then have a dinner at their restaurant. Having said that their Asian restaurant (not sure of the name) had a lot of choice and food was great. There is a small beach and it's quite nice. I had 2 facials at the SPA, you sort of got to book this as soon as you can because some days they were extremely busy. They offer a bus service to Phuket Town and Patong Beach, so you still get yourself out of resort. Overall, it was a great experience. We organised two trips with a help of their staff!
