"Well positioned "
Great location in a quiet part of town but close to the Central Park. we were able to walk to the old town sights in 20 min and the science park is a similar walk away. Very Good standard of hotel with a wide breakfast selection with cava! Free wifi too
"Very bad smell in suite "
We have stayed at many SPG properties and this was just awful. The room literally stank! It smelled like sewer gas in the toilet area and this terrible odor unfortunately permeated the entire suite. It got worse each of our 3 nights and was intolerable by the third night. Staff seemed surprised (!!) until we told them we had seen reports of this on Trip Advisor dating back to 2013 and as recently as July 2016. Wish we had seen these reports before the stench in room 232 of this hotel ruined our stay in Valencia. Be warned! And if you stay here, notify them and switch rooms or leave the hotel as soon as you can.
Stayed at the Westin Valencia for one night. This is the first time I have stayed at a Starwood Hotel since their merger with Marriott. Check in was good and quick. The hotel seemed very quiet, yet I was still put into an accessible room on the first floor. However, The room is large and well maintained. I had a bit of difficulty logging onto the wifi but the receptionist was very helpful and managed to sort this issue out. The hotel is a short walk away from the old town (approx15minutes) and is ideally situated. I had to prepare some work items and ordered room service. Room service took a little time to arrive but the food quality was exceptional. It is great to see that the merger with Marriott has not affected the outstanding service you still get from a Starwood property. If you are travelling to Valencia this is a great hotel to stay at.
"Not quite a five star hotel....."
I suppose everyone's standards of hotels are a bit different. However, if one has travelled the world, one would know immediately what a five star offers. I reserved a deluxe grand room that was stated as 50 square meters large, but it was about 30 and was told that the balcony is a part of the total space! I would recommend to get a regular room facing the court yard as the balcony rooms face outside and could get noisy from outside traffic. The court yard was lovely to sit for drinks. The breakfast was okay, but the service seemed quite disorganized and we had to track down a server to get coffee and orange juice all three mornings. The house keeping could use specific instructions on how to clean the room and put items in an organized way so that the guests could find them. The location is good, within walking distance to most of the attractions. Even though I am a Starwoods Gold member, I wasn't upgraded to one of the member rooms. However, the three of us were given a 15 Euro credit toward a welcome drink.
"3 day leisure stay"
We stayed at The Westin Valencia last week and felt very relaxed there. The Reception staff were very friendly and helpful as were the staff on duty in the bar and at breakfast - the waitress remembered our requirements from previous days. We only used the pool once, as there was so much to see in Valencia, but it was great to have it there. We would like to visit Valencia again as there is still so much that we would like to see there. We will certainly try to stay at the Westin again when we do.
