"One of my best hotel experiences ever"
I've stayed at hotels with nicer views, or facilities but I'm not sure if I've ever stayed at one that had service like this hotel. We came in early on the train from barcelona, a room was not available but they gladly took our luggage and said to give us an hour. We came back in an hour and not only was our room ready but they gave us an upgraded room with a private balcony. Part of this may be to our status with starwood, but I am not certain about that. Hotel is gorgeous, the bar area is amazing with wonderful staff that go above and beyond. We had chocolates delivered to our room and then later a special bottle of water with a note from the manager. Every detail was clearly painstakingly thought through at this hotel. The courtyard area is beautiful and the amazing herbal tea in the lobby is like nothing I've ever tasted. I'be become accustomed to the snooty but kind attitude at european hotels and have just accepted that as part of the culture, but wow this place should be giving lessons to hotels of the world as far as service goes. The location is a slight, but enjoyable walk to the downtown area and square. I think you'll be glad you stayed here.
"First class hotel in all respects"
after a six night stay at the hotel a few very positive things should be mentioned,,, upon check in we were upgraded to an executive suite and were told 'if you are staying with us for six nights, we intend for you to be comfortable'... not expected but fully appreciated,,, the staff is first rate,, flat tire on the rental car in the parking area under the hotel,, Abdel took it upon himself to straighten the mess out with the rental agency, without his help we would have had a real problem,,, the near by restaurants suggested by the hotel staff were outstanding and well within walking distance,,, the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, no road noise at night,, a first class hotel in all respects... ska
"Solid choice in Valencia!"
Been here a couple of times now in late Summer with friends. Probably more of a good 4 star standard (not sure what it claims to be). Good location close to the linear park and subways. Food ok, not amazing, restaurants have changed/closed over last couple of years as hotel has changed owners. Rooms a decent size and the breakfast is quite nice, though a bit crowded, often. Some staff great (F&B manager from the South West of the UK originally, is a good guy). Some other staff a bit less clued up. A few missed order deliveries at breakfast but generally good standard. But weird that it was hard to get a drink from the bar after about 10:30/11 p.m. when we'd eaten at the Spanish restaurant... confusion over whether we could still get another drink. Bar quite trendy, rarely busy so no real atmosphere despite the (fairly quiet unintrusive) DJ.
We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Westin with it's courtyard gardens, spacious bedrooms (could easily accommodate a family), luxurious bathrooms and scrumptious breakfasts with freshly squeezed orange juice (we are in Valencia after all). The hotel is located in a leafy area in Valencia - 20 mins walk from the cathedral quarter, 30mins walk to the beach, 20mins drive from the airport (taxi costs about €18). It feels like the kind of place where dignitaries stay and can imagine it being a real oasis in the height of summer. If you're staying with young children under the age of 5 or 6, it might not be centrally located enough because all the attractions are at least a 15min walk (or short taxi ride away), so not on your doorstep. Guests include a real mix of people: lots of business people, families with young kids and tourists. The bedrooms have the usual luxuries such as bathrobes and toiletries and also some extra touches - you can hire a gym kit including New Balance trainers for €5 so you can travel light. The reason I've not given the hotel 5 out of 5 stars is because for a top end hotel charging top end prices, the service is slow. We found breakfast time to be especially short staffed and slow where tables hadn't been cleared etc. The concierge service is ok but not great - they weren't able to tell us where we could find a Bureau De Change without looking it up. Lastly, the hotel room furniture is a bit dated + there's barely any plug sockets for phone charging. However, I am trying to be very critical here for review purposes! It's a beautiful, comfortable hotel - just not super duper luxe.
"Marathon weekend stay"
Staying at this hotel was an absolute treat. From the moment we arrived the level of customer care was outstanding. Staff were unfailingly helpful and polite without being at all intrusive. The facilities are excelllent (though we didn't take advantage of the spa). Highly recommend - would certainly stay again.
