"Location, location, location"
We are owner's with Wyndham. Every two or three years we make the mistake of getting suckered into attending one of their "updates". They are high pressure sales pitches and this one was no different. Not worth the hour plus time. The one bedroom unit we stayed in was well appointed ... maybe a little too fancy. I am a little puzzled why anyone would need a TV mounted on the wall of the bathroom and why Wyndham chose to spend my maintenance dollars on such frivolity. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. The elevators were not a problem except at 4 on Friday when hoards of guests were checking in. Took about 15 minuted to get up to our room. The fitness center was "out of order" during our stay. Not sure what that was all about. This was our first visit to NYC and we found this hotel to be a perfect location to base our adventures from. It is reasonably close to the subway yet off the beaten path of the massive crowds that plague some hotels. The elevator problems others have spoken of did not materialize for us. On a side note, our bathroom had the noisiest toilet I have ever heard. It sounded like fireworks going off with each flush. Make sure to catch the views from the lounge on the 33rd floor. The view from our room (1701) was horrible, but not a big deal. We were gone all day and most of the night and only spent time in the room to sleep and shower.
"Great location and accommodations"
We enjoyed a 4 day trip to New York City recently and found the Midtown 45 to be an excellent place to stay. Rooms were very nice and spacious by NY terms, location was walking distance to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, etc.... as well as easy access to Grand Central Station for subway use. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, eager to help. We arrived early and left late and Midtown 45 graciously stored our bags until we were ready. We would definitely stay here again. The 33rd floor lounge and rooftop were also very nice.
Wyndham Midtown 45 is beautiful and in a location that allowed us to walk everywhere we wanted to go. There is an open deck on the top of the building that allows you to view NYC at its best. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful, we would definitely stay there again.
"As an owner, very disappointed"
After reading reviews, I was afraid. Well my feelings were right. The room we had was a huge disappointment. First of all the desk people were miserable. My daughter who joined me works for the Hilton Group. She was also surprised by our check in experience. As always we were stopped on our way to our room my the sales team. Wanted to invite us to a lunch meeting, NOT even getting in to what transpired with that. Anyway, we get to our room, open the door and there is a box in the entrance. It had a bag with something in it, trash', body part', who knows. My daughter grabs it and heads downstairs. She let the sales girl open it. Here it was the toiletries, water, and wait...coffee and creamers but there is no coffee maker in the room. Also no ice bucket. I knew the room was not remodeled yet but did not think it would look so bad. The room was beat up. Run down is being nice. As an owner, we are RIPPED off by the points used to stay here. If this happened at a Hilton or Hampton Inn, I would be getting a refund. Very disgusted with Wyndham right now.
"Parking Price Alert "
Great facility and location. The staff at checking and during the stay were awesome. They got me a fridge in the room which I very much appreciated; as I needed it for the baby food The pack and play was great. Parking fee was NOT what their website said and they were not willing to adjust at all. The staff ignored my request for a supervisor. The site says cars $55 and SUV $75 a night. I came with my car but was charged $75 a night. I was told this was because of my car length. Again, their website did not say this. Measure your car and ask for the cost at check in. Enjoy everything else.
