The Thompson Chicago soars high above tree-lined streets in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood. This accommodation showcases classic architecture with traces of Gothic influence. Located 1 block from the Magnificent Mile's world-renowned shopping corridor and the electric nightlife along Rush Street, this hotel stands 2 blocks from Oak Street boutiques and the hike-and-bike path along Lake Michigan. The Observatory and the Museum of Contemporary Art are located 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) from this property. The Thompson Chicago is also close to the train station.

"Best hotel I've stayed in"
A fun modern room which was super clean totally fit the bill for what we were looking for. Close to great shopping and the train, we couldn't have asked for a better location. The staff was great and even went out of their way to let me use their freezer for breastmilk after checkout.
"Amazing Location. Amazing Hotel"
Excellent amenities. Great gym. The location is a must for couples and first time visitors to Chicago. The best of downtown, and easy access to lakeshore. Amazing restaurants, cafes and proximity to other major attractions. We walked everywhere. Would definitely return and stay at the Thompson. Fantastic rooms - clean, spacious, excellent bathroom/showers.
"My home away from home in Chicago"
This is the fifth time I have stayed at this chic and comfortable hotel in the best neighborhood in Chicago. The staff always makes me feel welcome, and there is always a buzz about the place that makes it feel lively and hip.
"Great stay just off Mag Mile"
Ideal Gold Coast location is a short stroll from the northern edge of Mag Mile. Closest Red line L station is 5 minutes on foot. Double-room was very clean and spacious. Bathroom is HUGE and bright with lots of counter space. Rain shower is a dream! Beds are comfy. Front desk and doormen are friendly, helpful and always smiling. Special thanks to concierge Cheryl who helped reschedule our boat tour while we were stuck at Willis Tower. Skip in-house breakfast and go across the street to Original Pancake House or 2 blocks away at Hendrickx Bakery on Walton Street for the amazing croissants.
