"Nice hotel for a short stay"
We stayed at Hotel Tiffany for one night on our travels from Florence to Lyon through Geneva. In a quiet part of the city. Rooms were very small and cosy. There is a lift but you would only get your luggage in plus yourself. Breakfast wasn't included in the rate and was a bit expensive so we didn't try it. There are options around. Room was warm and clean. Restaurants around the area are very expensive so we decided to grab a bite to eat at the supermarket. Lovely city but extremely expensive. As a tip, if travelling into France buy your tickets at the SCNF auto ticket machine located at the international terminal other than the ticket office at SBB where they charge a 20 CHF charge per ticket which is very expensive.
"A perfect delight!"
On our way back from a week's skiing we took the time to explore Geneva. To achieve this I booked my daughters and into Tiffany Hotel. Expecting an impersonal european experience I was delighted with both the service, the approach and most notably the general friendliness and attitude of all the staff, from the concierge to the cleaning staff. They couldn't have made my stay more pleasant. A word of advice though.. as I was travelling alone I booked a single room... very neat but very small.. I would advise twin or above.
"Beautiful hotel with the friendliest staff"
I could not fault this hotel. We were fortunate enough to receive an upgrade as this trip was for a special occasion and I couldn't thank the hotel enough for their generosity. Our room was magnificent and absolutely spotless. Little touches like buttons next to the bed to open the blinds and your very own coffee machine made the stay feel so special. The bed was so comfy and the bathroom was amazing. The staff were the friendliest people. They were so helpful from when we arrived and gave us a tour. Every time you passed the front desk they would say 'Bonjour' and always offered assistance. We asked about a bus route and we were given a map (really helpful) and brilliant instructions. They couldn't do enough for you. Stay in this hotel- the location is excellent and you will not forget it.
We made a booking after reading excellent reviews on tripadviser for hotel Tiffany geneva, when we arrived i asked the young lady if there were any parties ,she promised it was a quite hotel and she had upgraded our room ,im not so sure it looked fairly standard to me as i had already booked the superior room i dont understand what the upgrade was apart from i couldnt get the internet to work ,after about 30 mins it sounded like elephants running around upstairs and you can hear doors banging i left it for another hour and went down to see the desk staff i told him about the noise could he do anything about it which was ignored and apparently it would quieten down later well we wearnt really paying for it to quieten down later and was very abrupt with his manner ,as i couldnt use the internet i asked him could he book us into a different hotel and he rudely said to me" your choice" in an aggressive manner i asked him to register my complaint with the main manager (which i presume went in the waste bin as a have had no correspondence from the hotel or manager) i went back upstairs we had to put up with the elephants until about 2.30 am ,my girlfriend went to sleep i didnt even bother getting in to bed fell a sleep in the chair about 3 am then we were both woken up at 5.21 am the people in the opposite room came back like it was the middle of the day talking loudly in an out the door( you would kind of expect the desk staff to kindly ask people who come in at 5.30 am the please respect other people staying in the hotel but thats asking to much i feel) ,by that time we got up had a shower and went to check out ,someone different on the desk my girlfriend said to the young lady about our stay ,i think we may as well have talked to the front door we would have got more of a response not even a sorry ,maybe there so stuck up there own a r s e there it doesnt bother them how they treat there guests
"Wanted to like it more..."
I stayed here for two nights - its about 1km from the train station, so if you dont have lots of luggage its walkable from there. The reception and common areas are very smart and welcoming and the room at first glance seemed well appointed, but as hard as I tried to warm to the hotel, little things kept preventing this. My main issue was with the bathroom, which was quite tight to move around in, and had been designed poorly with a fixed shower screen making it hard to turn on the taps for the shower or bath - and when I tried to do that I found the plug mechanism was falling off and a hand rail likewise. And the scales did not have enough battery in them to be usable. These are all easy things to fix I would expect to be in better condition in a top end hotel. The bed was reasonably comfortable, though was the annoying 'double' bed where two single beds are pushed together. Nonetheless I slept well, but was then further disappointed at breakfast - it wasn't clear where to sit or how it worked, but two waiters walked past me waiting for instruction without saying anything - eventually I sat down myself and picked a few items - but the whole meal passed without anyone speaking to me, or offering to cook eggs to order as advertised. And to make things worse, the tables were too close together and I could barely get in or out of my seat without walking into a lamp, the table, or the diner alongside. So in summary, it feels like it has potential - but the execution was very poor. I would choose another option if I return to Geneva.
