"Great hotel "
Stayed over night as we went to watch Grease the musical. Great base for the city, fabulous staff that were very helpful. Rooms clean, plenty of hot water, and lovely breakfast in bed room service. Overall I'd recommend the Townhouse to anyone
Good value but all a bit tired now. Rooms nice and big and huge bathroom, but all a bit creaky and worn. But fits a niche and would return! A bit clunky on the check out (new staff') but we all remained good humoured and not an issue. Thank you.
Stayed in the hotel for two nights recently and a pleasure it was. The room was spacious and contemporary whilst being inviting and warm. It was great value for money at £135 for the two nights. The staff (young chap) on checkin was extremely helpful and informative about great locations around the city and where to find the best night life. Although don't be fooled by the heating I made the assumption the radiator wasn't adequate for the room size so turned it on full...... BIG MISTAKE, it was boiling during the night. If I had to suggest an improvement I'd say the mattress wasn't maybe the most expensive, and more luxurious one would make a great stay a perfect one. Thanks townhouse
We stayed on a Saturday night and did not get a wink of sleep for most of the night. First of all we were put in a room that was right next to the lifts and so there were people coming back from nights out but we could cope with that as it was intermittent. The icing on the cake is the night club in the alleyway that blared music out until 4am and the people shouting in the alleyway; they may as well have been in the room with us. The room cost £140 and in all honesty if they had made us aware of the potential noise I probably would have booked somewhere else as I wouldn't have paid £30 for that experience. It was the worst noise I've experienced at a hotel. If you get a room at the back of the hotel then I'd beware; we were on floor 2.
"Great bistro style hotel"
We were recommended to stay here and so we booked a room for a Friday night stay for the theatre. It is on the edge of Chinatown and the gay village and an easy walk to the town hall and all the theatres and shopping areas. A refurbished cotton warehouse, it offers several different styles of rooms. Nice bar and restaurant. We booked an Executive King Room. Very well appointed and worth the extra. Well insulated windows kept the city noise out allowing a generous lie in. Room had huge bed, comfy and plush. Usual tea and coffee making plus coffee machine. Bathroom huge with single basin, bath And power shower in cabinet. Nice sitting area as well. Breakfast fine but routine cold buffet, but hot food served at the table. No onsite parking but underground car park across the road and 30% discount voucher from hotel on checkout makes it reasonable. Overall a great experience and we'll return.
