"Wow in Versailles"
Luxury and location. So beautiful. Very short walk through a park and right into the back yard of Versaille. Down the street from very cute shops and little marche. Staff are so friendly. And all staff speak english for those of us who speak little french. Our rooms was very comfortable and veru clean. Will definitely go back
Beautiful property. Very good loyalty (HHhonors gold) recognition: upgrade to room in main building with view of the palace, drink vouchers (champagne included), late check-out, etc. Room was big and nicely decorated, but is starting to show its age. Strangely only decaf coffee cups were left in our room, but this was quickly solved after calling housekeeping. Incredible breakfast with very extensive choice and the restaurant overlooking the park is fantastic. Service (from check-in, housekeeping and restaurant staff) was excellent. We stayed here on a Hilton redemption, but would have no hesitation returning on a paid stay.
Our family of three stayed at this hotel for two nights. It is our 10 years wedding anniversary. We checked in the hotel late (close to 8:30PM) and I asked front desk if it is still possible to get a table at Gordon Ramsey Restaurant (2*). The front desk checked with restaurant and got a surprise "yes" answer. This is on a Friday night. Myself, my wife and son enjoyed the 7 courses dinner there. The restaurant staffs provided superb services and answer many questions from my curious wife. We never been to a restaurant of this level so it was an unexpected and eye/month opening experience since we did not plan for this dinner yet we are at Paris in a beautiful hotel and wonderful restaurant celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. I want to thank the hotel for great service and upgrade to a nice room (very large bathroom). This hotel is right outside one of the entrances to the Versailles so very convenient to visit there.
"A special place"
I really enjoyed my stay. The setting is excellent, and a great launch point to explore Chateau Versailles and the town as well. The hotel is intimate and feels like a retreat to a palace where you're a guest, especially while eating breakfast looking out over the pasture with sheep in the morning. Relaxing. The hotel is divided into two buildings, the lobby and restaurants are in the old biulding (the Trianon Palace) and across a garden is the new building which has many hotel rooms (chambers) as well as conference facilities on the lower levels. I was in the new building which was OK, although I think I would have preferred the old building from a historical and architectural perspective, especially since I was not attending a conference. That said, I did enjoy the new building as well. Although there were a couple problems which I was surprised and disappointed by. First, the heat was way to hot and the thermostat in my chamber did not function at all. The only way to cool down was to open the window, which was not an overnight solution since there was not a screen and it was raining, as well as hearing the people walking around the garden. Also, on my last day there maintenance people came into my room while I was at breakfast and left boot marks and mud all over my bathroom as well as a plumbing access door next to my toilet open with wires sticking out. The water did not work in my room for the remainder of my stay, which was annoying because I had to get ready for business meetings that day. I was surprised that would happen at a hotel of this quality, and with the high rate I paid.
"Forget Paris....stay in Versailles!"
This hotel is quintessential Versailles. You are in the shadows of the palace and center city Versailles. Within walking distance of everything you want to see and do. A must do is to walk around the canals in the park adjacent to the hotel.
