"Lives up to its name"
I have been visiting the Trianon Palace for over two years now. While the property is beautiful the service has always fallen very short - until now. I don't know if they are under new management or if they have just had a major shift in policy but whatever the case they are now providing what I consider to be World Class Service across the board. Perfectly situated next to the Chateau with an entrance to the gardens a few steps from the hotel entrance there is no better place to stay when visiting this beautiful town. They have a full spa, gym and indoor pool along with good restaurants to ensure you are completely taken care of. I always book my room through American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts because of all the added benefits. But no matter how you book your stay, you will be well taken care of at this amazing property.
"Excellent stay in this historic hotel"
A very nice hotel, surrounded by history from Louis XIV but also 1918... Very nice rooms, excellent food, beautiful park and surroundings. An experience I will definitely repeat. The hotel offers a high quality stay, high quality food and excellent service by all the staff members.
"Beautiful Hotel Connected to Versailles Gardens"
We stayed in a corner room in the original building with a view of the Chateau from one side of our room and a view of the gardens from the other. The room was beautifully warm and cosy, yet elegant and luxurious. The bathroom was fabulous, the standout was the underfloor heating. It's perfect for a weekend stay in Versailles. It's a 10 minute walk to the main entrance of the Chateau, a 10 minute walk to the market square which has bars and restaurants all around it. It's a 30 second walk to the park gate. The hotel concierge was incredibly kind and helpful and arranged bikes for us, and we spent an idyllic day cycling around the gardens, stopping for a drink in the cafe in the park, and just enjoying enjoying the fresh air. It's only 30 minutes by car to Paris so an ideal place to spend some down time - yet it feels as if you're miles away from the city. We didn't eat in the hotel, but the service we encountered everywhere was first class. I think you have to stay in the main house rather than the newer building if you want to experience the history and romance of the hotel. It's quiet at night, we slept so well. The bed is ridiculously comfortable. We loved it. We shall definitely be back.
"Fantastic location "
A short trip to Versailles and Paris. The hotel is very well located in beautiful grounds right next to the palace gardens. Whilst we had a fantastic time and enjoyed the high quality surroundings there were a couple of points for the hotel to consider. Booked through British Airways I was told on arrival that we were in the annexe which is a modern building made to look old opposite the main historical building. I was a bit disappointed so I paid extra to upgrade to stay in the main hotel, however my booking made no reference to the fact that we were not in the main hotel. That's a point to check when you book as you will feel deflated if this happens to you and I still do not believe this is good practice. In essence it should be different booking options for main hotel and the not quite so chic new build. We didn't eat at the hotel as travelling with my wife and daughter we actually arrived on Valentine's Day and they had specific valentines menu so we tried one of the better authentic bistros in the town square. A valentines menu doesn't really work for a family. The Michelin star restaurant wasn't really appropriate given cost for a 12 year old and the bar menu was very limited. I would expect a hotel like this to give more flexibility for family guests regardless of the day. Room service menu was also valentines themed. Wine by the glass at the bar is very limited. Only 1 choice of white, rose and red. Quite bizarre really when you consider where the hotel is located. My wife is a white wine drinker but doesn't like Chardonnay which happened to be their only white wine choice by the glass. I've never experienced that in my entire and numerous annual trips to fine hotels and I would recommend that you offer more choice. Overall exceptionally well equipped room with highly comfortable bed but for such a smart hotel they need to improve on the little things above.
I stayed one night in the Trianon Palace and truly enjoyed it. I had a Deluxe room in the main building with a view on the Chateau. Very nice and impressive. The room was spacious with a great bathroom and with all comfort I would expect of a hotel in this pricerange. Only negative point : I could not regulate the heating in the room and it was far too hot. I slept with the window open and the heating on. Not immediately a green, ecologic way of running energy though there was no other option. I also liked the bar a lot which is quite expensive though with a great service and good drinks and food. The same with the breakfast : excellent quality and good service. I will be back.
