"Enchanting with Versailles at your doorstep"
I loved this hotel! Our room was fabulous, a comfy bed with window shutters enabling a zephyr to enter our room with the rustle of leaves. The food was appetizing and the lobby a stylish place for pre dinner drinks. The hotel has such old world charm with all modern conveniences. The hotel history is a story in itself. The magic is also the location to the palace of Versailles. We woke at sunrise and had the gardens and palace grounds all to ourselves. You can feed the royal goats from the hotel grounds. It was all so surreal, I still pinch myself.
"Convenient for Visting Palace of Versailles"
The Pros - Close to Palace. Palace entrance is about a 5-10 minute walk away. There is an entrance to the Park/Gardens adjacent to the hotel, which was a really nice way to spend the afternoon. Bell staff was great. Housekeeping was polite and accommodating. The Cons - Check-in process was not acceptable. The room I had booked and pre-paid for was swapped without my knowledge or consent, even though the pre-made welcome letter clearly listed the correct room as did my own documents. It took about an hour to get it sorted out. The first room option was claustrophobic and the desk was not usable as the room chair blocked the desk as the room was too small for the furniture. Ultimately, I received a new room, but never an acknowledgement or apology. The balcony on the room was dirty with used cigarettes littering the ground. The bed was not a true King, but rather two twin beds hooked together (probably at the last minute), and was not comfortable. Advice - if you have free breakfast, and do not mind be underwhelmed then breakfast is acceptable at the hotel. If you have to pay for breakfast, skip it and walk 2 blocks to one of the town restaurants.
"A very good hotel"
The service was incredible from the Concierge staff, Charlotte and Christine. Great location to visit Versailles. A gate just outside the front door. A 15minute walk into town. The restaurant is over price and the quality of the food was average for the price. Much better places to eat in town.
Great location, beautiful hotel, and incredible staff that was friendly and accommodating. La Veranda and Bar Galerie was fantastic, they made our dining experience very memorable! The concierge was helpful and attentive.
"Perfect hotel to stay while touring Palace of Versailles"
This hotel is beautiful and walking distance to the Palace of Versailles. The staff is so friendly. We had a lovely room with a balcony that we could see the Palace. If you get a chance eat at Gordon Ramsey restaurant in the hotel. The chefs tasting menu was outstanding and the staff couldn't have been nicer. the breakfast buffet was huge with so many choices. Amazing stay and would definitely stay again if we are in the area.
