I'd highly recommend this hotel, if you want a luxurious business or pleasure experience. The location is fantastic for either. It is located on the water with a beautiful sunset. It is outside of the chaos of downtown without being too far away for easy access to work or the sites. That said, outside of the hotel facilities, there are not many restaurants or stores in the immediate area. The facilities are also very nice, though the pool was out of service. The lobby has a place to enjoy a drink or to just sit without getting hassled to purchase anything. The rooms were adequate size and very comfortable. The beds were some of the best that I've had. Apples were delivered twice a day and the room was kept very clean. I'd also like to commend the staff. They were incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of there way to make my stay more enjoyable.
"Best in class "
Nice hotel with breathe taking scenery. Enjoy a sip of tea or coffee sitting in hotel room balcony and enjoying the view of Arabian sea. Fresh air with loads of cars moving on roads and people enjoying street food.
"Good hotel...but misleading information"
Stayed for 2 days during recent business visit to Mumbai. At check in, the reception very happily advisefe that they are giving me a free upgrade (guess coz I specifically asked for a king size bed but they only had rooms with 2 single beds) and was told I get a free airport transfer with it, well I was quite impressed. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and room service is right spot on. Location is just perfect as it's centrally located and by the sea. Breakfast was actually quite sad with the main restaurant being overcrowded (people were actually queueing outside...quite bad for Trident's reputation) we were asked to have breakfast at the other restaurant (can't remember the name, it's a Chinese)...very limited options, lack of staff to serve and food tasted substandard. During checkout when I asked the concierge about the free airport transfer i was promised they said it's not reflecting in the system. Thankfully, I did not cancelled my usual taxi so was able to make it to airport in time. Trident .....time to improve your service......
"Great refuge from busy Mumbai!"
This is a super hotel! The rooms are a decent size....very clean with super comfy beds. The restaurant for brunch is amazing! Fresh squeezed juices, coffees and lattes. The service is fantastic! The Oberoi is connected and has an incredible restaurant but be ready to open your wallet!!
At the end of a long trip in India, I was so tired that I couldn't be bothered to stay in anymore guesthouses, hostels, etc. I wanted a nice, luxurious hotel that would take care of everything for me and this was it. It is in a wonderful location on Nariman Point. Right outside, you have the water and the beautiful Marine Drive, where you can wander, jog, or just sit around with tons of local couples for a romantic sunset. The hotel is also about a 20 minute walk from the Fort area, with many of South Mumbai's attractions. I much preferred this area to that of the Taj near India Gate or the other luxury hotels further north. The rooms are spectacular. I got upgraded to a city view room on the 31st floor that was very luxurious. The bed was super comfortable and the pillows were among the best I've had in any hotel ever. The lobby is beautiful and has a nice view if you want to hang out or have a drink. However, I think what made the experience the best was the wonderful staff. In particular, at check in, I met a wonderful woman (Pinki') from the far Northeast (Assam/Meghalayan area). I did not make it there on my trip and was super curious. She not only told me about her personal experiences growing up in the area, but also gave me more information should I wish to travel there in the future. In a country where it can sometimes be hard for a Western traveler to learn about non-tourist traps and genuine local life (at least in frequently touristed areas), this friendly and open - but not overly obsequious - attitude was fantastic. And, it was present in all of the staff I interacted with. The only downside was that the Trident pool was undergoing work and was not open. You have access to the Oberoi pool, which can be reached from the same entrance as the Trident pool. It is nice, however, it does not get as much sun and did not appear to be as large.
