"Trump Soho stay"
Great location.. Good restaurants in the area. If you like to walk there are so many restaurants and dessert places in walking distance. The staff is very helpful. Looking forward to our next visit to Trump Soho!
"Top Notch Anniversary Trip"
Spent lots of time researching our 4 day visit to NYC for our anniversary. Our first multi day trip away from the kids! We chose Soho as we wanted to be close to everything but not in the middle of the city. We loved the location of this hotel, 2 blocks from the water it was amazing. We rode the Citi bikes everywhere and there is a docking station just around the corner from the property. We were pleased with our hotel room, it was modern and clean. We had booked a deluxe room to ensure we were on a higher floor and on check in we were upgraded to a premier corner room on the 36 floor. The views of the Hudson and the Freedom Tower were absolutely incredible. The pool is small but really nice to have a quick dip after a long day of sightseeing. The downside is that it closes early and the seats fill up really quickly. Get there when it opens to ensure you have somewhere to sit if you plan to lounge there.
"Could be cleaner"
I was very excited to stay at the trump soho as the name makes you think it is going to be an experience similar to that of a four seasons or ritz Carlton. I arrived at around 1:45 and asked if they had my room ready. Unfortunately it wasn't which was ok as check in wasn't until 3pm anyway. So I went and got a quick lunch and came back around 2:30. I then just sat in the lobby waiting to go to my room to change so I could experience the city in the less than 24 hours I had to myself. The front desk agent felt bad when 3pm rolled around and my room was still not ready so he gave me free drinks and food at koi. Finally got to my room around 3:30 and was very impressed. Walked down to the 9/11 museum (MUST SEE!) and walked around the neat mall that is over there as well. Went to dinner at the ace hotel's restaurant the Breslin, BEST LAMB BURGER IN THE COUNTRY! Came back and drew a bath. This is when things started going wrong. There were hairs and dust that surely weren't mine floating in the tub. I drained it and used a hand towel to wipe it out and drew it again. Same problem. At this point I went to bed as I had to be up early. All in all would stay again, but I hope that they figure out how to clean a little better.
The room was large and well-appointed but smelt funny during our entire stay. Staff were very unhelpful. They would not move us to another room despite repeated requests. A representative of house cleaning came and unloaded a lot of "air freshener" in the room but even after the chemical smell dissipated, the stench remained. Highly unsatsifactory. Would not go back.
"Terrible - Stay away"
Shoddy service. Room was dirty and definitely deficient of what I expected from this hotel. I've stayed at other Trump properties and in NYC, and this one doesn't hold a candle. For this kind of money, stay at the Mercer.
