Amazing hotel!Comment of J. Alex , United Kingdom the 2014-09-02
"A lot of glamor with quite a few quirks"
Location The location of the hotel is good but not excellent It is on the west far side of SOHO. 2-3 blocks away from the beginning of the nice areas. There is a subway station very closely. So you are a little outside and need to walk for 5-10 min to get to the interesting parts of SOHO. Reception The reception people and everyone else were very pleasant and hepful. Room I reserved the most expensive room - PREMIER ROOM which was described as a room at the 30-36 floor and the size of 39-50 sqm. some of the rooms pictures had a sofa and some didn't. When I checked in I was told a room with a sofa is an extra 50$+tax a day. The room was big and nice, very modern very clean with a wonderful view of Manhattan. The beds were comfortable but too soft for my taste. The bathroom was huge, actually it was the same size of the room. There was a lot of storage place and there was a Nespresso machine with free capsules and bottled water (refreshed daily). There were a few things that I didn’t like about the room: - All the rooms (not the suites) are built around the elevators (or so I was told) and you can clearly hear the elevator working all the time. They changed my room to another upon request but the noise was much the same. It was not a loud noise and after a while you get used to it but still... - The air-condition was the loudest I have encountered in a hotel yet. really really loud. I asked the maintenance twice to check it but the noise remained the same and I was told that's how these air conditions sound. - NO DOOR TO THE BATHROOM - this was really weird. there are no doors between the rooms and the bathrooms. The toilet has a white glass 2/3 door and the shower has a clear glass door. I was alone so it was okay but I can’t imagine spending time in this hotel as a couple or with a child. WIFI There is no free wifi anywhere in the hotel. The wifi costs 17$ a day but I connected 3 machines and it was a good connection .
Hotel lobby has a modern vibe to it. At check in we were met with smiles and a very warm welcome from the front agents, they were caring and we had no problems. Our room was quite large, spotless clean and had a great view from the 31st floor. The bathroom also was very large, a deep soaking tub with a wonderful view and a walk in shower with a rain water head. Everything was spotless. We had nightly turn down with robes, slippers, chocolates, ice and water. The Hotel is located just steps from great shops and restaurants in Soho. Bellmen are very helpful as well. No problems at check out, The staff here are very nice people, Great Stay!! We love it here.....
"Another perfect stay"
This hotel is so wonderful. The staff....the location.....the rooms....it's all great. This was our fourth stay and won't be our last. Being so close to the shops, bars etc in soho is just icing on the cake!! See you next time.
Location is fantastic and for the most part that is the biggest draw with this hotel. Rooms are nice, not very big and in need of a refreshment, carpets are worn and chairs are not very comfortable. On the positive side, large TV, comfortable bed and good shower.
"Amazing low key Soho hotel"
This boutique type hotel in Soho was a great experience! The bar Mr Jones is awesome atmosphere.. Good bartenders and music and not too touristy. Easy access to the subway and walking distance to wonderful boutiques
