the hotel was modern and clean. the rooms were comfy and the bathroom/shower perfect. the only issue we had was the internet. you have to get a user name and password fromm the desk downstairs every day, as the pass only lasts one day! therefore every morning when you wake you have no internet access, you have to dress and go down to reception. this was annoying. apart from that its a great hotel and great location.Comment of O. "well located hotel"
We spent 3 nights at this hotel, free upgrade to premium room. A couple of small issues with the room were promtly sorted. A very well insulated hotel for warmth and sound, 3rd floor road room could hardly here the trafic, but being the end room the wi fi did not reach ! Had to go to the hotel lobby to get reliable service. Only 100Mb free per 24hrs. The staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. We did not have breakfast at the hotel , try Le Feme a Turkish cafe over the road.
"Nice hotel in a good location "
So, my partner and I were scouting around for a reasonably priced city break in Berlin and I stumbled across TRYP Berlin. The hotel itself is easily reached by taking the U6 underground line (look for the purple line on the underground map which runs from Tegel airport in the north to Alt-Mariendorf in the south). The hotel is located between the Schwartzkopfstraß stop (a 200 metre walk to the hotel) and the Naturkunde Museum stop (a 100 metre to the hotel. The hotel itself would best be described as a modern boutique establishment with a pleasant interior and a variety of standard/premium/family rooms. It's worth checking when you are thinking of booking to see if Wi-Fi is included in your room rate. If your stay does not include breakfast in your package it's a fairly hefty 18 Euros per person per day on top (at the time of writing). If you're on a budget it's worth upgrading to a premium room and avoiding the breakfast option as a compromise. There's a small bar snacks and an adequately sized dinner menu available but you might be better off visiting of Berlin's many eateries if you want a greater choice. Having said that, the bar and food options are competitively priced in relation to the local area, there doesn't seem to be too much of a 'hotel prices mark-up'. The hotel doesn't offer much (if anything) in terms of outside space being situated as it is on Chausseestraße but the compromise is that you have good access to central Berlin and the surrounding areas from here. The rooms are pretty well appointed with the usual things you'd expect in a budget hotel. Just a quick word of warning about the bed mattresses... they are ruthlessly firm. Some might struggle sleeping if they prefer to sink into a mattress at night. Overall a nice hotel with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere.
Excellent hotel. Spacious clean rooms. Had a few doubts about it after reading some reviews, but all unfounded. Staff were all friendly and offered reliable information. We were bed/breakfast basis. Breakfast buffet was ample, offering hot and cold choices. The setting is quite good too, near enough to walk to the Brandenburg gate and other attractions within 20. Wall memorial round the corner, 5-10 minute walk.
"Not too impressed"
Just arrived at the hotel and in all honesty not too impressed, the staff informed us that after our very long journey our room was not yet ready,no apology for this, pretty rude ! Got to the room and have stayed in 3 star hotels that are better, the decor is nice however the double bed is just 2 singles pushed together so constantly pushing apart and falling down the gap and 2 single duvets definitely not practical for a couple ! There is no kettle in the room, I've never visited a hotel without a kettle and have only been given 1 towel between 2 people. I have yet to find the ironing facility as there isn't one in the room and if you want to connect more than one device to the Wi-Fi you have to pay so the 'free wifi' advertised is a bit misleading.
"Good location, amazing staff"
Went on a City break trough BA and stayed at this Hotel. Very helpful, attentive and friendly staff behind reception and in the restaurant. Good choice of breakfast and open until 11 am. Good location for sightseeing , as the U-Bahn is almost opposite the Hotel. Taxi fare to Airport is only approx 20 Euros. All in all a pleasant stay.
