the hotel was modern and clean. the rooms were comfy and the bathroom/shower perfect. the only issue we had was the internet. you have to get a user name and password fromm the desk downstairs every day, as the pass only lasts one day! therefore every morning when you wake you have no internet access, you have to dress and go down to reception. this was annoying. apart from that its a great hotel and great location.Comment of O. We came to Berlin for the Christmas markets end of November and had the best time ever! The hotel is gorgeous and perfectly located. The staff were soooo helpful! I cannot quite remember this one guy, Olivier perhaps' But he was wonderful! His english was brilliant and he gave us the best advice with regards to the best markets to visit as well as nightlife! The breakfast is slightly on the expensive side but you get the quality that you pay for, DELICIOUS and so so much to choose from! We were sad to leave :( But will hopefully return in the summer time! Thank you all so much :)
Aesthetically, this hotel was very pleasing and affordable with friendly staff. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel which benefits from pretty large rooms & a very large bathroom. The metro station is also a one minute walk which is very useful, especially when you're able to catch the metro around the clock! The only real peeve I have with this hotel is the wifi... I feel as though when guests are traveling from around the world to a popular European city, the wifi should just be included in the total bill for the room. Instead, we were told that one person was able to use wifi & the other had to pay - which in turn did not seem to be true as neither wifi would connect for us. Also, the payment for wifi was daily, which resulting in both of us buying wifi from the hotel each day. As I said before, I feel that it is imperative that guests are able to connect through wifi when they are at their hotel rooms as most phones do not when they are out of their home country... Instead we were faffing around & buying Internet each day and the connection was shocking. Other than wifi, this hotel is a great stay!
"30th Birthday Stay"
Great place to stay for the money. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms 10/10 - Clean, modern and comfortable. Plenty of space. Nice bathroom. Food n/a - Cannot judge the food as we ate out most of the time. Staff 10/10 - Great, cannot do enough for you Wi-Fi 2/10 - Needs to be improved. 30mins every day. After that it is payable. Overall experience 9/10
"Centrally located "
This hotel is easy to get to from the airport and centrally located for all the sites. The rooms are small but clean. The kingsize bed we had was in fact two single beds out together. The bed was comfy - well tested by my husband who had the flu & spent 2 days in bed! One disappointment was the lack of kettle or coffee machine in the room . When I mentioned the fact that I needed a kettle the hotel supplied one but it is a shame that this is not standard. There was also an issue with the wifi - only one device per room, limited mgb and you needed another password for the public area - the receptionist was apologetic but Melia need to improve the wifi service. There is a gym and mixed sex sauna with a sun terrace. Lots of local cafes for breakfast.
"Very good but be careful with Wifi"
We had a very nice stay at the Tryp Berlin in Mitte. The staff was very friendly, the room is modern and the bathroom clean. Everyday they came to make up the room. The hotel is very close to the U-Bahn and Metro which makes it effortless to discover the city of Berlin. You have plenty of good restaurants on the street and a mini-market that stay opens all night long. The only downside was the Wifi. During my stay I always made sure to only use their "free offer" which allows you to use up to 500MB and then automatically disconnects you... but for some reason they asked me to pay a fee during check-out. I recommend this hotel to everyone.
