Besides the excellence of the hotel itself the staff went above and beyond to try and assist me with my lost luggage.Comment of L. Mindy , United States the 2014-06-15
"One night in Tryp, Munchen."
Pleasant hotel and not a bad location only 10 minute walk from the central station if you come out the correct exit, we didn't unfortunately when we arrived and followed Google maps which took us down a route which had a road tunnel we couldn't cross on foot. We had to retrace our steps and go around the station and eventually got to the hotel after 40 minutes in the freezing rain. The receptionist was very nice and allowed us to check in early at 13.00hrs as we were soaking wet. Room was spacious and clean with a nice large bathroom. Safe and fridge in room but no minibar. One thing to mention is the bar doesn't open late, we came back at 23.30 and planned to have some drinks in the hotel bar, purchased one drink and then the barman disappeared and never came back which was disappointing. Breakfast was decent with a good choice of cold and hot food.
Everything from start to finish was lovely with the Hotel Easy access from the train station. Rooms were small but everything was provided. I would definitely stay again Munich is a great city with plenty to do.
"Great for wheelchair users"
Lovely spacious room with accessible shower although it did leak over the entire bathroom floor. Beds very comfortable and lovely warm room 10 minutes walk from the railway station although not a great area Missed tea in the room just a coffee machine that was not replenished daily.
"An OK hotel I guess..."
I wouldn't really write home about the splendours of this hotel. I had a very difficult check in which took over 1 hour. There were some discrepancies on my booking and the website which we booked our stay with did not relay all the information to them (mainly that one guest would be arriving before the other). This meant that I had to wait in the lounge for about an hour while waiting to get in touch with my friend who was arriving later. The ladies at reception weren't entirely helpful either and wouldn't let me sign on to the wifi in order to attempt to connect with my friend who was still in transit. They instead insisted I logged onto a desktop computer in a broom cupboard in the lobby. I explained to the receptionist that that would be futile as my email would probably not let me sign in as I was connected from a new location for the first time (outlook), it would have to send a confirmation code to my emergency email address which (surprise surprise) I would not be able to get into either without wifi (also outlook). I told her all this and she didn't care, she wouldn't give me the wifi password until I was checked in, though I had a clear, confirmed booking. When this didn't work as I forwarned her, she huffed and puffed and eventually gave me the login details after I basically had to beg her for it. Begging a hotel you're booked into for wifi in 2016' While this might be a very specific and unusual problem, the hotel itself is just OK. The advertised gym (which was the main selling point which made us choose this hotel), was unkempt and when I visited to go to the sauna, the toilets hadn't been cleaned, had traces of excrement on the insides and there was no toilet paper either. The location is ok but could be closer to the main central station. I checked out and went somewhere else which was much more satisfactory and better value.
"OK Stay with disappointing Issues"
The stay all in all was average, but we did have some very annoying Issues: There was a very disgusting brown stain on my blanket, I reception to ask for a replacement and they said they'd send someone. 20 minutes later no one arrived so I called again and they said they'd sent someone. 15 minutes later no one came so I called again.. same story for the 3rd time and only then they came back. Also, we arrived to a 2 single bed bedroom after we specifically selected a "1 large bed bedroom" on the booking website. Once we said that we selected is as an option on the booking website they insisted that we selected that as a "Preference" which they are not obligated to give us and claimed that in our category all rooms are with 2 single beds. We insisted that this was the room selection so they eventually "upgraded us", only after leaving us feeling like the mistake was ours. The "upgrade" was the exact same room, same courtyard view, same bathroom, same amenities and everything (It was a copy-paste of the other room), only with a double bed...
