Besides the excellence of the hotel itself the staff went above and beyond to try and assist me with my lost luggage.Comment of L. Mindy , United States the 2014-06-15
"An OK hotel I guess..."
I wouldn't really write home about the splendours of this hotel. I had a very difficult check in which took over 1 hour. There were some discrepancies on my booking and the website which we booked our stay with did not relay all the information to them (mainly that one guest would be arriving before the other). This meant that I had to wait in the lounge for about an hour while waiting to get in touch with my friend who was arriving later. The ladies at reception weren't entirely helpful either and wouldn't let me sign on to the wifi in order to attempt to connect with my friend who was still in transit. They instead insisted I logged onto a desktop computer in a broom cupboard in the lobby. I explained to the receptionist that that would be futile as my email would probably not let me sign in as I was connected from a new location for the first time (outlook), it would have to send a confirmation code to my emergency email address which (surprise surprise) I would not be able to get into either without wifi (also outlook). I told her all this and she didn't care, she wouldn't give me the wifi password until I was checked in, though I had a clear, confirmed booking. When this didn't work as I forwarned her, she huffed and puffed and eventually gave me the login details after I basically had to beg her for it. Begging a hotel you're booked into for wifi in 2016' While this might be a very specific and unusual problem, the hotel itself is just OK. The advertised gym (which was the main selling point which made us choose this hotel), was unkempt and when I visited to go to the sauna, the toilets hadn't been cleaned, had traces of excrement on the insides and there was no toilet paper either. The location is ok but could be closer to the main central station. I checked out and went somewhere else which was much more satisfactory and better value.
"OK Stay with disappointing Issues"
The stay all in all was average, but we did have some very annoying Issues: There was a very disgusting brown stain on my blanket, I reception to ask for a replacement and they said they'd send someone. 20 minutes later no one arrived so I called again and they said they'd sent someone. 15 minutes later no one came so I called again.. same story for the 3rd time and only then they came back. Also, we arrived to a 2 single bed bedroom after we specifically selected a "1 large bed bedroom" on the booking website. Once we said that we selected is as an option on the booking website they insisted that we selected that as a "Preference" which they are not obligated to give us and claimed that in our category all rooms are with 2 single beds. We insisted that this was the room selection so they eventually "upgraded us", only after leaving us feeling like the mistake was ours. The "upgrade" was the exact same room, same courtyard view, same bathroom, same amenities and everything (It was a copy-paste of the other room), only with a double bed...
This hotel is ideal for exploring Christmas Markets in Munich,Tollwood the main market is literally 5 minutes walk from the Hotel , the hotel is also a short walk from the Schnellbahn (underground station Theresienweisse) which is just a couple of stops from the Christmas markets of Marienplatz and Karlsplatz . The hotel itself is very well maintained ,bedrooms are well appointed and are clean as are the bathrooms. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the Reception Staff who were very helpful and informative this continued throughout our 3 day stay.. both Sekina and Ionna were particularly friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
"Very good place to stay!"
The location is not too far from the train station and the city center, it is right on the corner to the place where Octoberfest is located. In the area there are plenty of places to eat (duners, fast foods, small cosy restaurants, supermarkets and etc.). There is a free sauna in the hotel which is a very good option for customers after a long day trip in the cold weather. My room wasn`t what I payed for and there was a very bad sound from the water going down in the pipes but the substitute manager Sekina Ouro was an amazing performance and offer to us a great Premium room to compensate us for the bad feeling about our 1st of 5 nights. So after this inconvenience everything came to the right. I had no breakfast so can`t say a word for the restaurant but we ate at Lenz on the new year`s Eve and it was fabulous experience (it was recommendated from the Chef of hotel`s restaurant) I highly recommend Lenz restaurant to all guests (Salmon and Wien Schnitzel was really high level!). Overall the hotel and the services was really good ones! I recommend to all travelers to stay there! PS: I read some comments about the WiFi so here is some info about it: When you go to your room you have 100MB free wifi per 24 hours for 1 device. But if you fill the form for Melia awards you will be granted with no limit WiFi connection immediately. So don`t look no further and if all I said is enough for you, book your stay at this lovely hotel!
"Do not go to this hotel!!!"
This hotel should be a 4 star hotel, but it is a modest 2 star. In addition to this, in the reservation the wifi is free, but actually it is only free for the first 100mg, then you have to pay 5 euros a day! A real shame!! DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!
