"Comfortable beds, great shower and an amazing breakfast!"
This was our last stop of our 2 week vacation in Brazil, and it was definitely a great way to end our trip. As soon as we got to the hotel, we were able to feel relaxed and refreshed, as the room was super spacious with a great shower. Definitely the best water pressure (and temperature) of all the places we stayed in Brazil! Beds were comfortable and this hotel had an amazing spread for breakfast. Cereals, hot egg dishes, and assortment of breads, cheeses, fruit, cakes, juices, coffee and tea, it was definitely more than enough to keep us going all morning. This might possibly be the most extensive hotel breakfast I have ever seen...especially for being included in the room rate. The hotel is located in a safe, high-end neighborhood, and is in walking distance to an upscale mall in case you need to do some shopping. The nearest metro station, Santa Cecilia, is about a 20 minute walk away. This was not a problem, as we didn't have too much luggage, but if you do, I would recommend taking a taxi/Uber. Also, the walls/doors seemed thin, as we could hear people in the hallway talking and/or other doors opening and closing. Another thing to note is that you are unable to connect to wi-fi after you checkout, even from the lobby...this would have been helpful, but these issues were minor, and overall, we had a great stay at the Tryp Hygienopolis.
"Good service but problems at the bathroom"
I was quite satisfied with the overall service of the hotel. The employees were very friendly. Good breakfast. But I was surprised at the advice to throw the dirty toilet paper in a bin instead of throwing in the toilet. It was disgusting. They admit that they have problems with the sewage pipes, probably not wide enough. Also they told me that the custom of throwing the dirty toilet paper in the bin was common in Brazil. And when I intended to throw a small quantity of toilet paper (as a test) it began to clog. The other problem was related to a hose that they use as a replacement of the bidet function. It is placed near the toilet. If you use it and don´t turn off the valve that is below, the water will flood the bathroom. It happened to me. Quite a problem¡¡ They put a notice but it is easy to forget.
"Abominable mechanical noise problems"
This is a pleasant well-located hotel with polite helpful staff. The breakfast is varied and abundant. The rooms are of a good size. However our stay was ruined by abominable interior mechanical noise problems. Despite three changes of room, noises precluding any possibility of sleep occurred again and again. Unless this problem is solved definitively (unlikely as it seems structural in nature) expect little sleep and much stress.
"Visiting São Paulo for the Bienal"
Recommended by others, I wasn't disappointed. Great location, Paulista is walkable. Safe neighbourhood, quite on upper floors ( check to see if elevators are working). Breakfast is included and it is enough food for the entire day! It's not super Lux but great value for the price. Would go back. the Internet is slow, you can upgrade though. Electricity shuts off when you leave the rom and consequently the clock radio. Needs to be reset each time you return, which is annoying. Do we really need radios in hotel rooms' A battery powered clock would be better.
"Nice, very quite "
The Tryp hotel is nice, very quitely locatie in the residential area of Hiegenopolis. Location is actually very convenient, close to the centre, close to Avenida Paulista but of course longer from the southern suburbs. Hiegenopolis shopping centre is Just a corner walking. The rooms are nice, quite large. Fitnessroom is decent, although outdated and the swimming pool is nice. Restaurant is just a dull room, used for breakfast, Lunch, dinner and bar at the same time. Prices are good, although minibar prices are stiff.
