"First time visut"
An unusual start to our holiday with the coup taking place the day before our arrival. We were greeted with a friendly and informative receptionist and our room was across the small lane opposite. The room was very clean and absolutely no issues. However the room was very tired! Everything worked fine although the air con was slow and it took ages to reduce the heat. The hotel pool is reasonable for the size of hotel and again clean and well kept. Lovely gardens although the bar was not open at night this was due to lack of tourists. The two restaurants were outstanding, the food was fantastic and the best we had the entire holiday so I recommend. It was pricey but the quality was there!! The hotel has the old features as described and the area is a joy, far enough away from the main town, but close enough to wander around. The harbour is a nice walk but if you have mobility difficulties you might have to rethink as it can be quite steep at times. Breakfast was ok nothing mind blowing but a continental breakfast presented very well. Plenty of cats around but they keep to themselves mostly. We found them entertaining so didn't bother us. All in all I would recommend the hotel for its ambience and great food, but it needs updating in the rooms. There was not a balcony and I missed that. I won't visit again not because I didn't enjoy it but purely because I expect a little better accommodation.
"Tired and neglected"
This could be a lovely hotel as it is full of character in a gorgeous place. The staff are friendly and attentive and clearly want to their best in the circumstances. Unfortunately it is starved of funds and attention and going downhill. The owner seems to be living off its original glory rather than reaching into his pocket to properly maintain it. So for instance our room was quite elegant but the net curtains were filthy and torn while the window pains were dirty - see photo. We were upgraded to a bigger lighter room but even there some of the fittings were splitting (see photo) - much of the furniture although made to look old and imposing is actually cheap and tacky behind the surface facade. Out by the pool in a lovely garden setting, the sun umbrellas are fraying and rusted (see photo), which with minimal investment could so easily be replaced. Furthermore practical issues abound such as the shower head not staying in place (see photo) and no plug being available for the sink. The penny pinching can also be seen in the standard of the breakfast. For instance the orange juice is barely superior to orange squash and the cereal was basic and stale (NB better quality juice and cereal is widely available in local supermarkets). When we complained, they did respond by giving us some special treatment e.g. freshly squeezed orange and fresh fruit in our bedroom. However this did not change the fundamental problem of lack of willingness to spend on proper maintenance and a quality breakfast. This is a hotel that does spend on marketing with glossy brochures and sells itself as a quality international hotel with prices to match. However its owner's penny pinching means it fails to deliver.
"Heritage building, great location "
We booked the hotel after we read reviews online and were not disappointed when we got here. The hotel should take about 40 mins by cab from the airport. The hotel houses a group of heritage buildings which have now been converted to rooms and restaurants and bars. The hotel also has other restaurants and bars in the lane which offer a discount to room guests. The location of the hotel is excellent since most places are in walkable distance from here. The room is comfortable with all amenities required but is a little small. Breakfast is included and has a lot of continental stuff as well as local Turkish options. Decent I would say A good hotel to stay and explore Antalya for sure.
"Lovely Boutique Hotel"
I am a repeat guest of Tuvana and stayed at least 5 time here. This time my stay was for 4 nights and again it was so beautiful. The staff and the ambiance of the hotel was so lovely. Friendly and professional staff, perfect value for Antalya and great location. Very central and close to all historical sites. Thoroughly recommend and look forward to my next stay!
"Highly recommended "
We chose this hotel because we wanted something a bit more rustic and local as opposed to the huge chain hotels and my gosh we weren't disappointed. It's located in old town with a short walk down to the harbour and another short walk up to the new town where there are plenty of shops. The hotel was very clean and housekeeping came every day with fresh towels and a clean. The pool although in a different section of the hotel to where our room was was clean and peaceful. The breakfast buffet was fresh and full of an array of different choices including some local food we hadn't had before. We also ate in the fine dining restaurant its one of the three restaurants the hotel has to offer so there was plenty to choose from. I can highly recommend the moules mariniere. The staff were very efficient and helpful. Particularly the manager to whom we are very grateful to when we had an unpleasant encounter. She was very professional and comforting and couldn't do enough to help. We would definitely visit again and give this the highest recommendation possible. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
