We were lucky enough to get a good winter deal for two nights and, after our first night, extended our stay to five nights. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff, a comfortable room and a very convenient location as we were getting the train out to Inca every day. Easy walk in to the center of town in a few minutes.Comment of W. Andrew , United Kingdom the 2016-01-15
"Won't be back!"
This place has a good location just in the city center but I did not feel very confortable. The room floor felt really dirty and the toilet was not very clean. The staff was ok, they even nocked the door to give me a free water bottle but I would have preferred if they just left it there. The entrance is tiny and there is not space in the reception at all. The price was ridiculously expensive for what I've got.
"We will be back !"
At first I was worried that we didn't have a pool to help us while away the hours, but this hotel is so well positioned that the pool is not an issue. REception - friendly, helpful ( they sorted out a hire car for us in minutes) and hard working. Free pastries and fruit available on the desk is a bonus. LIfts, work quickly and are clean. Breakfast - really good selection of top quality food. Rooms - my only gripe was that our air con did not cool the room at all despite trying every possible setting. The bathrooms were clean, the water was hot and there was a bathe with shower. The room had a mini bar, safe and good TV however only one British (BBC news) channel. There is an underground car park adjacent, busses run to local towns and beaches from across the road and the train station is next door. I will use this hotel again when in Palma.
"Return to Palacio Avedina"
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times due to the central location, peace and the comfort and size of bed. This is my one break I do each year on my own and feel very safe and secure in the hotel. I was slightly disappointed however that my room and bathroom were much smaller than the rooms I'd previously occupied, but nevertheless the room has everything I needed. Apart from the carpet being quite stained, the cleanliness of the room couldn't be faulted. Service on arriving was perfunctory. Coffee at breakfast is good. Food is somewhat disappointing. It is unfortunate that there is no bar or restaurant. When one is travelling solo and out all day, it is good to know that you don't need to go out in the evening to find a restaurant, although there are several nearby the hotel. Despite the hotel being in one of the busiest parts of Palma, the sound proofing is first class, and a good sleep guaranteed! A very pleasant stay yet again!
I liked our superior soom. Good views, lots of space, good bathroom. The staff is very friendly. The breakfest is really good. Short walk to the old city and it is at the railwaystation. I would stay here again.
"Great (but quite noisy) location - not best for solo travellers "
Hotel is very central but overlooks fairground and a concert space, which can be quite loud/annoying (don't want to hear Fur Elise ever again)! I was disappointed that the first room I saw (for single travellers) was very dark (one small window) and so paid to upgrade to a room with more light, but where I had to climb over the bed to get to the bathroom! The sheets were only changed once (and even then I had to ask) in my 8 day stay, and dusting was pretty minimal. I had to keep asking for more toiletries...the sort of 'cost cutting' that only annoys those paying premium rates... The interior decor is nice, but getting quite jaded - my taps were peeling off metal (see photo). Staff are very friendly though and speak good English.
