"Great place to party"
This was a flight package so we had no idea except the trip adviser reviews and not all were complementary but we thought we would give it a go as we have only stayed in the V&A and this would give us a base in the center of town. We had a room on the sixth floor, three days mid week. Our room was lovely nice large hard bed thar I liked but the wife not so, wooden petitions separate the bedroom from the bathroom so with them open you can chat to your partner( or cleaner) while sitting in the bath. Breakfast was good with a choice of cooked food. Long street is a very vibrant area with lots of bars and restaurants, if you like to go to bed at ten then this is not for you. If you like to party like your 25 again and be dragged back kicking and screaming by the other half to your room then this is it, with lovely staff and a buzz you can only get from the centre of Cape town I loved this hotel. When your head stops spinning from all the cheap cocktails and dancing then this hotel is in the middle of shopping navana. Take the plunge, grab life by the horns one more time and stay here. I did.
Booked a luxury king room. Arrived and paid in full when I checked in just before 14:00. Room was very stuffy. If you use the staircase you only smell smoke - even though it is non smoking in the rooms. Not up to standard. Very disappointed. Booked for 3 nights - could not even stay for one.
"Only for the hard core"
This is a clean well serviced small hotel in the middle of Long Street, one of the busiest night spots in Cape Town. The staff are friendly, polite and very helpful. There is limited parking spaces, but depending on your activities I would recommend not hiring a car unless you have to. Be prepared for a lot of noise till the early hours of the morning. There's music blasting away all the time especially before 1am. There are lots of cars driving by and noise from drunken punters. BUT this is Long Street, it's to be expected. There is a strong smell of fried food in the area. Again, this is Long Street, people have to eat. There are a lot of nice bars and restaurants in the area. It's relatively safe but there are signs warning you to be aware that there are pick-pockets on the street. Table mountain, the CBD, Waterfront and many other attractions are very close by. This is not for you if you are not into 'partying'. Urban chic also do a respectable breakfast from 6 to 11am. They also have a bar on the premises. This is a lovely place if you are not fussy.
"Not for me"
If its you first night in Cape town and you have just got off a 17hours flight this is not the hotel for you. Great location with large rooms and very friendly staff and a great breakfast choice but the noise from the bars underneath the hotel is distressing. If you are looking for a good night rest this is your worst nightmare. The music goes on until 3am and its not only the music but its the sing along and the shouting that wears you down. They do offer you earplugs at reception and take my word you need them. If you are a someone who stays out until late it will suit you perfectly. If you are looking for a good night rest then find another hotel also avoid long street.
"Not impressed. Not for the noise sensitive "
This place is located in long street, the heart of Cape town's night life. It is noisy till early hours. Thus, if you want your peaceful night sleep, this is not the place to stay in. However, If you are here for party and night life, this is the best place for you. I was not impressed by the rooms and provisions in the rooms for a 4,star rating. Tue channels on the TV where not working. The room was not prepared at night. It has limited parking on a first come first serve basis.
