of TripAdvisor Travelers recommend this hotel
I stayed there because of the area but the hotel was not good and not deserving the starts that is says it has. very noisy and staff not nice and not very clean. I do not recommend anyone to stay there
The noise from Long Street is seriously understated. Not recommended for anyone wanting to sleep between 10:30pm and 5:00am. All other features of the hotel are as advertised except the locale which is an overriding negative.
"Stay away from this hotel- worst experience from a frequent traveller"
Not a single thing good to say about this hotel... 1.I was told that parking is not guaranteed so I would have to park on the street if there is no parking available. 2. Receptionist not trained- did not know the difference between room service and housekeeping 3. Receptionist ignored questions when she was asked and just sat down and looked away 4. Room was serviced and when I arrived back to my room, there were no towels and toilet paper 5. Safe in the room did not lock. Receptionist was called two days in a row to fix 6. Poor wifi connection which the receptionist has no feedback on 7. I requested to speak to the general manager on a Sunday after some of the issues. The receptionist advised that the general manager does not come in or take calls on a Sunday. 8. Upon check- out, I tried to raise the above to the general manager, Siranne van Onselen, who was rude, abrupt and was not prepared to listen to any of the issues. Instead she defended the hotel and receptionist, and accused me of being "rude" and a "bully" numerous times during our discussion. This was done in the presence of other guests at the reception area. Even when I advised her that the conversation is being recorded, she did not care. When I mentioned that this would be taken up with the owner of the hotel, she was more than happy to respond by saying that the owner is her cousin...clearly, this explains the arrogance. Overall, never again for me !!!!
"Great little hotel"
Brilliantly positioned in central Cape Town. The room was large and well presented with views to Table Mountain. All the staff were helpful, very polite and friendly. The only downside is that the hotel is probably in the busiest night time part of Long Street but we didn't find it too intrusive. Loads of restaurants and bars nearby. Breakfast was good. We would go again.
"Mixed emotions... but nice..."
Perfect, My room was nice, modern & clean. Good Wifi reception, mini bar fridge, Wall Mounted flat screen Tv, Ver Very nice bathroom and very spacious. I would give the room 10/10. However because of water restriction, bed linen is currently not changed everyday but when necessary or on request. Now come to the best part. If you are a night life kind of person. Then this is the place. Correctly located in the heart of fun. You do get some noise coming from outside, you are also given earplug on arrival. Well i didnt mind the noise....lol... I slept like a baby... What i didnt like about this place was.... There is this thing of the hotel making a copy of your credit card on check in, Back & front of it. They say it is for a security hold. Well i had a security problem having my card copied. My credit card information falling into the wrong hands could get me in trouble. I couldn't agree to this. Breakfast was not good at all. A few blocks down was the Southern Sun Cape Sun. I had breakfast there. I said to myself that i rather spend extra for a good healthy meal. It is your cold servings that i would recommend at breakfast. Like you yoghurt & fruits. Anything else was a no no for me. My Lord there is so much of oil in your plate if you ordered anything that is fried. The free coffee...Aiy Mhaan tasted horable :(. I could make better coffee at home with the cheapest coffee. Over all, i felt safe and comfortable in the this hotel and Yes i would book again here.
