We stayed for 3 nights in the Lacroma and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel was extremely clean, modern with spacious well kept grounds and good facilities (spa, gym, pools, tennis courts etc). Service was excellent and staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were spacious and very comfy, however we found it a bit hot. The hotel was a few miles away from the Old Town but we loved it's quiet location and stunning views across the sea to the islands. A bus stops at the hotel so it was cheap and easy to get there although we enjoyed the walk. The hotel beaches were lovely and it was great to be able to use the adjacent sister hotels facilities too. There are a few nearby restaurants and bars to go to but the hotel restaurant is fantastic - definitely one of the best buffets we've ever been to. Such a great range of delicious fresh food. Looking forward to going back some day!
"What a fabulous hotel!"
We stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our 2 week tour of Croatia and Slovenia. Turned out to be the jewel of the trip! This place has breakfast and supper included. And what an impressive buffet. It rivals any of the all-inclusive a I've ever stayed at on any warm southern vacation. Tremendous selection of fresh food. The rooms are very modern, comfortable and roomy. The grounds are beautiful too. Stay here; you will nev be disappointed!
"Lovely hotel. "
Nice hotel . Clean However I found the staff a bit rude. Uninterested / didn't want to be there . And snobbish. Asked for the airport condition to be turned off and got a reply of "it's central heating" and hung up the phone. Good strong WiFi speeds of over 50mps. Great food and lots of it. Clean rooms and bathrooms Nice pool both inside and outdoor. Highly recommended stay. Oh and for the eire and UK people. It's got a kettle!!!!
"good hotel, quiet location"
We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour with a prepaid room. The hotel is large, modern with clean rooms and a helpful staff. We had wanted to stay within the walled part of Dubrovnik and were disappointed at the location of this hotel being a couple of miles from the walled city. However this turned out to be a better option as the hotel was in a quiet location with a good restaurant and large clean rooms. The walled city is an easy ride on a city bus (I think #6) that stops by the hotel. The ride each way is about $1.50 and the driver will tell you where to get off on the return trip. We would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.
"Very Pleasant Stay Here"
After a very long day of travel to Dubrovnik, we arrived at Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik to find our rooms ready with about two hours before we were expected to have dinner in the hotel - a nice time to rest. Having rooms ready by the smiling and helpful staff is a real plus! This hotel is ultra modern with highly polished floors, lots of glass and polished steel, and sleek yet functional public rooms. I was assigned to room 3117, a somewhat large room with a platform king bed and a private terrace overlooking an olive grove and the hills behind the hotel. I had hoped for an ocean view, but alas. The door from the corridor opens into a dressing area with the bath to the left. The room is also ultra modern with a figured birch headboard, grey/brown Berber-type carpet, ivory walls, and ivory/brown floor to ceiling draperies. A sliding glass door opens onto a private terrace with table and chairs - very pleasant. There is adequate lighting throughout, flat screen TV, tea and coffee service, safe, plenty of closet space with built-in shelving for clothing as well. The room is well-equipped with desk, chair, small tea table and chair, luggage stand. The bath is tiled with flooring tile on the floor and the walls, making it easy to keep spotlessly clean. Smartly done enamel sink, tub/shower, good towels and lots of them, blow drier, and enough amenities. The room overall was clean and comfortable - a fine room, yet not ostentatious. I think I liked this room the best of my five hotels on this trip. I used the outdoor pool during my stay and loved it...large and not very crowded. I also had a nice experience using the laundry. I sent out half a dozen shirts and other items and was very pleased with the results. Not expensive. I thought those cleaning the rooms were friendly and vey efficient. I always got a smile and prompt service. The dining room is on the lower level and everything is done buffet style with specific stations for different kinds of food. Breakfast is splendid and the manager is ultra-friendly and really helpful. Eggs are served any style with an omelet chef on duty, toast, pancakes, waffles, the best croissants (including chocolate and apricot stuffed ones), fruits, smoked meats, bacon, sausage, cold cereal, and more...wonderful spread for breakfast. I also had dinner in the same buffet restaurant which costs 190 kuna. Carving stations, pasta chef, good selection included chicken, beef, pork, fish - nice salads and starters and very good cheese, hams, and olives. Lots of desserts - all very fine. Hotel location is a bit out of town, but the #6 bus costs 12 kuna and stops just outside the hotel and takes you right to town. I'd definitely stay here again. Enjoy!
