Stayed here for 10 days in August and have to say was impressed with how the hotel looked after us all during that time. Breakfast catered for all tastes and the restaurant, while on the slightly expensive side, provided fantastic meals in the evenings. I liked the fact you could get free coffee all day and all night. There's a zoo next door to the hotel so the hotel is a popular place for folk to meet and stay over. Rooms were excellent and we had the exclusive use of meeting rooms for the duration of our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful so no complaints in this regard. Slight drawback was having to pay for the use of a health club next door but I suppose most folk staying wouldn't be bothered. Well located if driving and a 10 minute bus journey into the centre of Rotterdam which has lots to offer for a modernist city - you wouldn't know it's a major port!
"Great restaurant, comfy beds"
If you must visit Rotterdam, our reason was to meet our friends who were travelling there, then this is one of the better places to stay. Front desk girls are loud and scary as though they anticipate you running away with the silver, but restaurant is suave and well set. Suite is spacious, beds large and comfy but shower ordinary. Mind that if you order the 2 beds, you lose the dining table shown in pix. You get 2 bedrooms instead. Furnishing looks budget, below economy. But there is a pretty canal close by so you can walk etc. Hotel looks impressive. If you give instructions before hand, like cake etc do follow up.
"An enjoyable business trip"
Good hotel. Clean room.s and WiFi that works. What more could a business user want' Oh and the pancakes and bacon for breakfast were also good. Meeting rooms also good sizes and plenty of them. Good for if you are doing syndicate sessions.
"Perfect for Business in Rotterdam and Eurpoort"
The Van Der Valk hotel has more to offer than you might first think and is very well placed for business or surrounding Europoort. Modern amenities and well appointed rooms with good wifi and good customer service throughout. Recommended for business visitors .
This hotel was chosen due to locality to the highway and not recommended if you plan to visit Rotterdam center. It is a good way from the city. Seems to be very many local tourists/visitors. The room was nice and clean. Price was good. Restaurant in the hotel is a little over-rated('), and a little pricey for the level of quality/style of food (very traditional European cuisine). Some other reviewers complained about smoking, that is not a problem unless you go right into the smoking area which is easy to avoid.
