"Adequate, but only just."
We were there as part of a tour and our review is prejudiced because the hotel said they didn't expect us to want to eat when we arrived at about 20.00. They thought that we would want to eat out. 35 degrees, 100% humidity, dark, unknown town. That they hadn't questioned this is mind-boggling. Room, not enough room to open both our cases. Wasn't ant point in mentioning the cockroaches in the shower in the middle of the night although I took a picture.
"Ok for short stay"
Certainly not the best hotel in the area but it is not too bad. The rooms struggle with lack of storage space but the room we had was clean, the wifi worked and the restaurant area was ok. We were part of a large group and there were some issues for us but if you travel as a couple it would be fine. Good location for the Falls as you would expect.
We stayed this hotel for two nights and were disappointed to find that it was impossible to walk to the local town to try other venues to eat as it was too far and not recommended because of safety issues. However I did find out later that some of the restaurants in town would pick you up free of charge. The food at the hotel was quite expensive and the dining room was soulless and like a large cafeteria and breakfast was nothing to write home about. The night we arrived we found the reception staff less than helpful and the restaurant staff were not much better . The rooms were adequate but with little cupboard space. There was a nice pool but the bar staff were woeful and the piped music around the pool was very annoying and too loud. Overall we were quite disappointed with this hotel.
"Basic hotel staff could be better"
We stayed in what is The new wing of the hotel so the rooms were quite new. However, the rooms aren't really set up for taking two suitcases . The have two lovely big beds but nowhere to store luggage. The shower wasn't all that good. The staff aren't all that organised service is erratic for example we only had bath towels in our room until I saw a room maid and asked for hand towels and a floor mat so we didn't slip over when we came out of the shower. We didn't have an adapter that would work and other hotels have lent us one ....reception said they only had three for the whole hotel. I don't think this hotel is very clean . I saw a waiter drop some food on the floor when he was clearing dishes and he just kicked it under the table. Worse still the barman just hastily washing glasses under a running tap then using them to serve other people drinks. Yuk! Advise if you order drinks use a straw to drink them!
"Terrible Experience- very unwelcoming to international travelers"
I knew I didn't like this hotel from the first moment we walked in. Our room smelled like musty and chlorine. We experienced an over-all unwelcoming vibe from the hotel staff, which put a damper on our stay. Alarmingly, the hotel's door deadbolt had been removed. Also, I told the staff on the first day that the phone in the room was not working and about the missing deadbolt this seemed like a very low priority. I would not recommend this hotel to any travelers. We were relieved when it was time to leave the hotel. We paid for a special New Year's dinner here. The event was poorly communicated. It was about an hour into the dinner that we realized we were in the wrong dining room. I hated this hotel and I'm so glad to be out of it.
