"You get what you pay for"
What a beautiful and enjoyable hotel! Sure it's priced high but I think that’s ok. You get what you pay for: luxury, great service, maximum comfort. The room was spacious, contemporary and classy, as is the entire hotel. Bed was sooo comfy. The staff was very pleasant from valet service to morning check-out at the desk. Highly recommended!!
"Great upmarket boutiquey hotel"
Love everything about the viceroy- the decor beautiful - the courtyard oasis with the pool and restaurant. It's big enough to have everything but not too big. Service was amazing from check in to housekeeping. Big shout out to Sherri on the concierge desk- best concierge ever. We were looking for a specific sports shoe she even rang the store to find out they had the right sizes and after finding out my husband was into bodybuilding suggested he train at golds rather than somewhere closer with a day pass. You can walk to Santa Monica restaurants and shops but a bit away from the main strip. Would definitely stay here again when back in LA.
"Nice stay. Good food"
I was invited to a friends wedding and chose to stay here overnight as to be nearer the venue... it's such a cool place to stay and the lobby entertainment is well... entertaining! There was a DJ spinning tunes as we walked in. I was planning to sleep but couldn't resist the sounds. We ordered food, ate and danced for hours! I slept like a baby in my comfy bed after borrowing a book from the library. I'll be back!
Great hotel in brilliant position very close to Main Street and the beach. The rooms are lovely we had beach view which is worth the extra price. Only down side is the pool area is small but across the road is a huge beach. We ordered lunch which was fabulous.
"overpriced middle of the road hotel"
We stayed there for 4 nights in mid July. $600 + for ocean view and I guess seeing some horizon between buildings count as ocean view in Santa Monica' Furnishing is cool looking in pictures but cheap in person, very cheap mattress and towels that feels like sand paper. Corner room is next to stairway and the workers slam doors all night not having the common sense to close doors gently. Air conditioning is an antique and the noisiest even amonst motels, certainly not for this price level. Peninsula in Beverly hills cost the same and it is comparing filet mignon to ground beef. Valet and door man are young and poorly trained, I drove there in the Bentley and they address me as HEY ...I guess I should be happy they greeted me at all' will never stay there again.
