"A well presented authentic taste of Brazil"
This hotel is set in a beautiful location right on the beach. It is about 1 hour taxi from the airport and should cost between 250-300 reais return depending on your bartering skills! I would say in general Brazil is one of the only countries I have been to where English is not so automatic for many locals to use. I noticed some previous reviews re this hotel and I don't think they are rude in any way they just don't have many English speaking staff. They do however, have A LOT of staff and from cleaners, porters, barmen etc they are all polite and once they know you're English will try to just check you're ok at least. The pool is HUGE and from what we've seen the aqua aerobics with Marcus is so popular and a real laugh that they need such a big pool for all his participants! The food is very good and although the themed nights are a little tenuous we have not been disappointed with the quality and they are always topping up to refill and even just to ensure quality is maintained re the freshness. So be reassured you can go at any time and still receive the same as when it first opens. I would recommend lunch at the pool area and thry serve hot curasco everyday which is fantastic. The room is always topped with fresh water and a few cans of soft drinks. Rooms have everything you need and the bed is massive! Wifi slow in places but seems to reach everywhere and to he honest you're on holiday so other than backing up your holiday snaps... who cares!
"Very pleasurable place to stay and relax"
This is my second stay Vila Gale resort in Brazil, I feel this is a little bit different from the first (Cabo de Santo Agostinho) because is biggest, more spacious and there is three different type of room, apartament, challet, challet special, all very confortable. Have a huge pool, a very nice beach close to the hotel to have a sea bath, very calm, no strong wave. The hotel offer 4 restaurant, one buffet, and 3 la carte with appointment book in advance. Well, i loved my stay, room very clean, very spacious, staff very regardful, for sure I would stay again in this hotel. Much nature thing close, like iguanas, fish, etc. And the best all inclusive system. Good, very good.
"I will not back"
Terrible food n dinks (thanks God that they have coca-cola). Bedrooms will give you a back pain. The traditional local food "acaraje" doesnt come with "caruru", so is fake! To have an omelet you will wait 20min in line. the gym is pathetic so bring your equipment.
"EXCELLENT VACATION IN AN EXCELLENT RESORT !!"
My wife and I just spent a week here. Before selecting a resort, we read extensive reviews both on Tripadvisor as well as other sites, and decided to stay here. We could not have been happier with our decision !! You've got to take the negative reviews you read online about any resort or hotel with a healthy dose of skepticism, if you are an experienced traveler as we both are. First time travelers should just ignore them altogether. I spend over 120 days a year in hotels on business, and also travel 4 weeks a year for holidays, so when I am comparing a new place I am staying to were I have been before, I have a valid basis of comparison, Someone who might travel for 1 week once a year simply does not. The property is in exceptional condition, amazingly maintained, the grounds are constantly manicured and beautifully laid out, and the facility overall is truly 4-5 stars. Our room in one of the apartment buildings was large, we had a great balcony with a large hammock and sea view, an excellent bathroom, and all the amenties we needed. The best areas in the resort are the enormous pool, the easy beach access to Guarajuba, and the fantastic lobby bar. Exceptional food is served from 600AM until 300AM every day, and there is never a shortage of places to grab a cool beverage. Free parking and great wi-fi are also included. I'd like to give a shout out to the great staff I dealt with there over the course of the week. Jose Nilton, Venceslau, Daiane, David.......muito obrigado pra tudo !!! We'll be back !!! Oh yeah......the family of 9 large iguanas that live on the grounds and can be seen daily are pretty cool too.
"What a shame. Terrible"
Extremely poor experience for me and my family. Despite the great location - amazing Guarajuba beach, the hotel is in a terrible condition, with NO maintenance, no staff, and I felt misled by the 5* and the great experience I've had in 2008, 2009 and 2010. You can see the pictures. Broken AC in the room, lot of broken facilities in the bathroom, and no change of sheets during 8 days... But didn't stop in here. At Clube NEP (for children), the personal didn't care for the children, and despite closing hours (10 pm), never know when personal decided to go home - what a shame. Last but not least, the restaurants: no dishes and cups at breakfast, low quality meat and fish at dinner, and on top of it... an amazing day (1 april) when the Portuguese owner, Jorge Rebelo, went there. Managers poped up everywhere. TERRIBLE
