"Amazing hotel with wonderful staff"
Our stay for 10 days during the Olympics was fabulous. The facilities are great with a nice pool and a lovely lifeguard as well as a spa (though jacuzzi not always warm) and a great little gym with free water which we topped up from regularly! The breakfasts were great - extensive and with lovely freshly made omelettes and the staff were very attentive in the restaurant. Our room was super and we were very pleased with the cleanliness and facilities. The thing that made our stay really great was the staff. we were there with our daughter who is 10 years old and the staff were wonderful with her. From the reception team ( eg Marco and Mariana) to the bellboys (Leandro and Marconi) they were all super and made us all feel at home. The hotel is in Lapa which is known to be a party district which made us cautious at first but streets didn't feel dangerous. There were always security on the main door too and taxis came by regularly if you wanted to get about that way. Otherwise the metro was a team minute walk. The hotel is close to the tourist attractions of the Lapa Acros(arches) with its trolley bus and the tiled Escalion (steps). All in all we were very pleased and wou,d certainly stay there again if we're were to return to Brazil!
"A different Rio"
A wonderful hotel in a different area of Rio tourists are used to. However it is great with lots of marvelous restaurants and bars right outside the door. Very confortable, family and children friendly.
"Great hotel experience"
Very nice hotel located in Lapa district with spacious rooms and great facilities including a beautiful pool, fitness room and spa (hammam and jaccuzzi). Food is plentiful and tasty: the breakfast buffet has a wide range of food options from eggs (You can even ask for your own tailormade omelet), cured meats, fresh fruit, bread & pastries, cake, yogurt (plain or with fruit), granola, mixed nuts, cereal, juice, etc. Truly wonderful! The lunch buffet is also really nice and has a wide range of warm and cold dishes for only 55 reals (+10% service). Staff was friendly and helpful. Only downside is the location. Lapa is very quiet during the day and quite sinister in some allies. The atmosphere is more lively at night when bars and restaurants are open and filled with crowds.
"Good location and nice hotel"
We had little choice on booking a hotel during the Olympics but this one worked out well. We were a bit nervous when we realised this was the nightclub area but in fact it was fine, we walked around during the day and walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner with lots of people around and felt safe. The hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. The pool looked lovely but it was too cold to swim. The buffet was ok - just. But other restaurants around for food. The meals by the pool were good for when we were too tired to go out. My husband had a massage at the hotel and that was good and easy to arrange.
Nice hotel in a local part of town, had no hasell with local at all , it was during the Olympics and was a awesome stay, approx. 15 min walk to metro (subway) the only drawback at the the time was no water pressure at certain time ,I think due to hotel being full up.I give it 8 out of 10. Not sure what it would be like if no Olympics going on at the time of stay. Staff speak English and very helpful. thank you
