"This place was great!"
We stayed here for our final day/night on Santorini (we had booked two nights at Katikies Hotel, which was full on our third night so they moved us over to the Villa which is their sister property next door.) As much as we loved the Katikies Hotel, this place had its own advantages as it was smaller and more intimate but still had all the decor and beauty of the Hotel. The setting was beautiful as well with fantastic views of the Caldera. Breakfast was served on our terrace and the highlight of the stay was Margarita.. a beautiful and energetic young lady (manager) that took care of all our needs!. I must note there was no elevator, but even with my old legs, it was really no problem for us. It truly has the atmosphere of a Grand Villa! What a lovely end to a fabulous trip to the Greek Islands!
"Amazing hotel and views"
Arrived very early at 7am and check-in is at 2pm. We were allowed to head to the pool and relax till then but we just passed out on the undercover couches as the 6hr overnight stopover was a killer. Location makes it easy to get dropped of by taxi and for luggages. How the bellboys carry the luggages up and down the steps is amazing, as they manage to carry about 3-4 luggages/bags at a time. Margerita was amazing. Helped us with booking and suggesting restaurants and checking up on us at the pool. She also managed to get us upgraded to the honeymoon suite at the Hotel katikies down the road. Both the Villa and Hotel Katikies is just amazing and would return to either. The villa is much smaller and has a more personal feel. The Hotel Katikies is just like a hotel, multiple pools and restaurants/bars and much larger.
"Relaxing and a great view"
Spent a week at the Villa Katikies, it's small just 7 rooms/suites and a few meters from it larger 'sister' hotel, whose facilities you can use, except the pool which isn't an issue as the Villa has its own private pool and each suite has its own hot tub. Great views from your patio. Service great, breakfast can be ordered and taken in your room or on your patio. All the staff are great, very helpful and would recommend it. Just be aware, Oia is built on a cliff and the rooms inVilla Katikies, like most others, are tiered so there are quite a lot of steps. We stayed half the week in room 1, next to reception and which has the least steps up to road level, the second half in room 7 just above the pool bar (not noisy and closed in the evening), with the most steps, just ensure you feel able to climb these ok, if you are you'll be even fitter by the end of your vacation! Great place for seeing Oia and regular local bus service takes you to Fira (€1.80 one way) with vehicle hire available fir the more adventurous.
"Amazing service and views "
We were warmly greeting by an excellent hotel manager Margerita who made us feel at home right the start. The hotel only has 7 rooms all on the caldera with amazing views all over the hotel. The location is ideal as it is walking distance to all the main areas in Oia while avoiding the crowds. Highly recommended
Unparalleled service and charm. The choices in Oia can be overwhelming, but Villa Katikies has it all. The small, boutique-style feel gives incredible, personalized service that can truly elevate your stay and experience in Santorini to one of the most unique. We were never disappointed with any of the recommendations or arrangements by the staff, and have never stayed anywhere with such exceptional and warm service. The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully and thoughtfully redone, comfortable, luxurious, clean, private and peaceful. Although we were concerned some reviewers mentioned a small pool, we were surprised how lovely it was, and never crowded as there are so few guestrooms. It is certainly large enough to swim and we enjoyed it every day of our stay. The included breakfast is definitely a perk and we were thrilled with the variety and abundance of options and freshness. The poolside bar also has a great menu and reasonably priced. The location couldn't be better and Oia is by far our favorite spot in Santorini. The view from our room and every single spot on the property was breathtaking. This is a charming, unique, gem of a hotel and all the staff go to great lengths to make it a most memorable stay. Not only will you not regret staying here, you will want to stay at Villa Katikies again and again! Its simply spectacular.
