"Overall very good "
We stayed two nights in this hotel during English half term, and we were very happy with our stay for the last minute price we paid (£282 for two adults incl breakfast). There was plenty of snow so the location felt great - ski in/ski out, lift passes to buy from reception, hire shop downstairs. So quick and easy for a short break. There was also plenty of free parking on the road just outside - an added bonus! We got the chairlift home one evening, and on the second night walked down to the town (an easy 20min walk) and called for shuttle back, which came quickly. The welcome drink on arrival is a nice touch, as are chocolates at bedtime. Although we would have preferred a separate shower rather than the waste of space bidet, the whirlpool bath was lovely, there was loads of hot water and the shower over bath was fine. We ate the very reasonably priced buffet style dinner one night, which had plenty of choice and the mains were very nice, and breakfast is extensive and varied. I was impressed to see four different kinds of milk on offer at breakfast! On the downside - our "double" was two large singles pushed together (always annoying) and not with zipped mattresses, which might have made it better. Two single duvets, and not with proper duvet covers! Very odd arrangement of sheets wrapped around the duvet. Uncomfortable and a bit difficult to keep under control in the night! Also on the downside, we would have loved tea and coffee making facilities in the room and were amazed not to find this in a 5* hotel. Finally, everything in the spa must be paid for, including jacuzzi and sauna, which we found a little odd and as a result didn't use the spa. Overall though, this was a good find for us. The room was a good size, very warm and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. We would definitely return here next time we visit Sierra Nevada.
"Super restaurant staff"
This is a perfectly located hotel with a free shuttle service to the centre or a charming chair lift that does the same job. It's a hotel which was built in the 80's and does retain a certain amount of character. We had a very spacious 2 bedroom duplex apartment on the 4th floor with wonderful views. The breakfast is excellent and varied as is the dinner. The restaurant manager is excellent and knowledgeable on wine. I would recommend the half board option. My only grumble would be the spa. The masseuse is excellent but there needs to be a pool, sauna and steam room which is free of charge for the guests. At the moment they charge 10 euro for 25 mins for jacuzzi or steam room. This is not what you would expect in such a nice hotel. This would not put me off coming back though.
"Lovely hotel with nice views"
Again we stayed at Rumaykiyya and again we had a very nice experience! This hotel offers everything you need for a relaxed and comfortable stay. The rooms are very well equipped and the breakfast buffet has a broad range of products. It is super that you can rent your ski equipment in the shop in the hotel and that you can ski directly from an to the hotel. Next time we come to the Sierra Nevada we surely will book this hotel again!
"I'd definitely stay here again "
We have stayed at a few hotels in Sierra Nevada and this is by far the best. We stayed in room 208 facing out of the front of the hotel. Good points - large rooms - nice charming mountain decor to the hotel - good breakfast included in room rate - shuttle service to and from town second to none, we never waited more than ten minutes - all staff ultra friendly and polite - chocolates in your room every night - great view from the room - nice spa treatments (but quite pricey but most hotels are!) - easy access ski locker area which is clean - location is great, ski in and ski out Things to improve - the worst thing about this hotel is the noise in the corridors. We had read about this on trip advisory and so I don't understand why management don't sort this. Noisy luggage and cleaning carts up and down is so incredibly noisy particularly in the morning when you just want to chill in bed. You can't have a five star hotel that is this noisy...we would have rated it five but for this. Sort it out! - the rooms are large but the decor is slightly dated and again I think for a five star hotel it should be a bit plusher All in all loved our stay here, staff are excellent, view from the room magnificent and the shuttle service is brilliant.
"One night stay over"
We had to book one night cause of early arrival and chosen this one. For only 200 E incl breakfast a Junior Suite. Excellent service and super friendly personal My car was parkee inside for me. Drinks were offered upon arrival. Enterif the room it appeared very spacious, all beds clean and decent sizes. We had a drink in the salon with fireplace bar and snookertable. It made you feel at home immediatly. The hotel sits at the Maribel Pista so it is skiing to the door. All equipment can be rented in the hotel and they also have a storage. We are staying another two nights in the Monachil Hotel but this one we will visit again. A real treat !
