"Might not be for everybody"
My Husband and I stayed there last week and we researched on this site many other reviews before we decided to stay and commit. We have never been to Boston, we came in on a Sunday and left on Friday, here are few positives and negatives for consideration: Positive: Good location by the subway and Boston Common Room was spacious Staff were kind and considerate Negatives The rooms are very modern, that being said there is an open concept bathroom that has a very thin shade that separates the bathroom from the rest of the room. This was poorly put together. When others are in the bathroom you can still see them and hear them which makes a very uncomfortable situation. If you are sleeping and the other people in your room need to use the bathroom, your going to hear everything and the light will be shining in the room. The shade itself is very thin and doesn't cover the entire area of the bathroom. You can see others going into and out of the shower. The toilet itself is in a separate room off the shower but again you hear everything. The beds were hard as a rock but the pillows were very comfortable. We didn't hear any noise levels because we took the others advise and got a room on the 14 floor. The breakfast prices are about $24.00 per person. The wifi is free if you sign up for their rewards (which is also free) but you have to do that immediately or you will be charged $14.99 per day. Over all I would stay in a hotel closer to Quincy Market or Copley Center because it was more central, we had to take a subway to everything. Little China is run down a bit and there wasn't a lot of breakfast places to walk to in the morning except Panera and we wanted something different. It wasn't a terrible stay but the whole open bathroom thing was very uncomfortable.
We stayed here this past weekend for Parents weekend. When we pulled up the valet said give me your keys. No intro and no please. We then entered right through the club because of construction. It was near impossible to hear the young lady checking us in as the noise level was very high. The room was fine but small. The next morning my husband went to the front desk to ask about breakfast choices. The front desk said he would need to ask the concierge. I understand they concierge would know more choices but she could have said there is a place right down the hall on the first floor. I could go on but I will finish with when you call the desk for your car it goes to voice mail and then says the voice mail is not set up. We were so hoping this would be our go to place for my sons 4 years at college but we will be looking into other options for sure. It is understandable that some situations were unavoidable but then the W should look to compensate while the construction is going on.
Not a whole not I can say . A wonderful place to stay and enjoy . Very updated a modern . We stayed in a wow room that was in one of the higher floors in the building overlooking downtown Boston. Right in China town and near the trains clubs and bars . A must go to !
"Overpriced, dumpy, out of date and just a bad location....oh construction going on too"
So sorry I stayed here. The staff was nice. But the accomodations were way overpriced. And there is non-stop construction going on that made this the most unpleasant hotel stay I''ve had in years. The gym was old and poorly equiped
I have never stayed at a W Hotel before, the Boston W has made me a huge fan. I checked in later on a Friday evening, the staff was welcoming and kind. From the valets to the front desk! The room was beautiful with two queen size beds. I had an amazing night of sleep because the bed was so comfortable. I was in Boston to tour Emerson College which happened to be one block away. If my travels ever take me back to Boston this is were I would choose to stay!
