"Very Cool Hotel"
I stayed there to drop off my daughter at Emerson. We were both impressed. The room was incredible. The food at restaurant super. Very close to Boston common. Very modern feel to it. Service was very good.
"W hotel. An artistic jewel in Boston's Theatre District."
We stayed in a Fabulous Room. It was supposed to have a view of the theatre district. We saw mostly the walls of nearby buildings and a minimal street view. Rather dissapointing. Upon checkout we were told we were charged for using the Galley Restaurant. We did not purchase any food and beverages from the location. Thankfully after being insistent with the Customer Service Rep at the Front Desk the charge was removed. The bed in our room was very comfortable, the room was clean and quiet.
"Very average as W's go"
Very average as the W chain goes. The rooms were average, the bathrooms had very low water pressure and the mattress was way too soft. If you like soft mattresses then it's great, I just wish it was an external mattress cover that could have been removed. I couldn't sleep for 3 nights. I personally would avoid the hotel for just that reason . As a good point the hotel is very nicely located and the bar downstairs was ok.
"Conveniently located near the theater district in Boson. Great Stay!"
To Management: Keep doing what you are doing! Concierge was excellent. Accommodated my special request in a fashionably manner and also surprised us with a treat. The front desk staff was very polite and professional. Nothing more you need to ask for. It's definitely the Whatever, Whatever motto. Whatever you need, just make the request and they will do whatever it takes! Will be staying her a lot more when visiting Boston.
The W Boston is one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever used, of any brand or under any corporate umbrella. While it’s not a luxury hotel per se, it offers one of the best combinations of amenities, comfort and service that I’ve seen. SERVICE: The front desk staff is great – warm and personable on check-in, eager to accommodate any requests or questions. The doormen are intent on opening the doors for you (rarely did I go through the front doors having to open them myself), and a signature W touch is the floormats that change throughout the day to read “Good Morning”, “Good Afternoon” and “Good Evening”, all at the appropriate times, of course. That’s a touch of class that I don’t see at any other Starwood properties. ROOMS: Spacious, clean and modern, both the living area and the bathroom. You’re not in a shoebox like most urban hotel rooms, although I did have an upgraded room via SPG Gold status, so the base room might be a bit smaller. In any case, my room had a mini fridge that had actual space for my drinks, although I prefer it be empty, but that’s unrealistic. Where the W Boston set itself apart was the bundle of common charging cables at the desk (mini USB, Apple Lightning), Ethernet at the desk, a white noise machine bedside, a huge television with a DVR feature (which I’ve never seen in a hotel), and an alarm clock that was readable. With Make a Green Choice, the room experience was ideal and certainly the best Starwood experience I’ve had. AMENITIES: I did not use any of the restaurants in the hotel, but the gym is nice, especially for an urban hotel, offering cardio machines, some free weights and machine weights. It’s not stuck in a basement without windows, and it’s decently spacious with good equipment. It could certainly be better compared to other Starwood properties, but with all the other excellent features in the hotel, the W can’t be faulted at all for this. Internet performance was good, both wired and wireless. LOCATION: Excellent downtown location with tons of restaurants right outside the door or within a short walk, and close proximity to Park Plaza building, plus most of the Back Bay. Overall, this is one of the best packages I’ve ever seen in a hotel and I would excitedly stay here again when I travel to Boston – however, the prices for the W outside of the winter months are outrageous so it becomes cost prohibitive for at least a good chunk of the year.
