"Hip, Modern & Classy"
The W Lakeshore has to be one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. Its a modern hotel located on the Lakefront and a 5 min walk to the shops on Michigan Ave. ( Miracle Mile) which also has a lot of restaurants and places to eat. The room was just beautiful with a black n white modern theme,a full lounge, king size bed and modern bathroom with huge shower. The hotel also has a gym and pool area. The lobby of the hotel almost turns into a nightclub of a nighttime with the bar being right next to the check in area. It is a fun hotel with such a sleek and cool vibe. It is a bit pricey but Chicago is an expensive city and this hotel is in a great location. The staff were alsoincredibly helpful and the concierge were lovely.
We decided to have a stay-cation for our Anniversary in the Marvelous suite, and it was everything and more! Clean, modernly chic, relaxing, and not to mention the phenomenal service. Enjoyed the pool, the restaurant, and the bar (we did not have to leave the hotel, lol). Above all, The W-Insider Barbara went above and beyond to make us comfortable. 2 nights for sure next time!
"Fun Family Gathering"
We came to W for an event at Navy Pier that our Grand daughter was involved in. I read prior reviews and was concerned about some of the negative things I had seen but our experience was very good. It's very different than the type of hotel we normally visit. All Black, White, Mirrors, and Chrome. While checking in we discovered that we had been booked into a 2 bed room with a "City View". We asked about a King room and were told that we could get a lake view king room for $30 more per night and we took it. Prices are higher than we are used to but seem to be in line with others in the "downtown" area. Great views! The rooms are just what is shown on the website. Comfortable bed, nice furniture and shower, and good temp control. Whenever we had a question the concierge desk got us an answer right away. The only issue that was disappointing was the service in the hotel dining area. The food was excellent, but the service was poor. At breakfast we were seated immediately, given coffee, water, and menus, and then waited about 15 minutes before asking a staff member to get our server so we could order. After placing our order we waited another 18 minutes (I timed it) for our food. This when the dining area only had 4 tables being used. This happened both mornings we ate there. Other than that we had an excellent time.
"Fans of the W!!! "
Let me start by saying I have high expectations of hotels and hospitality since I have been in hotel management for 6 years. The W did not disappoint!! My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights there to celebrate Valentine's and our anniversary. When we booked my gf immediately came to trip advisor to check the reviews. We spent around 2 hours just ready great reviews about the hotel and most importantly the staff! There were a few names that kept popping up which made us very excited to stay here and also gave us high expectations. Upon arrival we were checked in by Patrick and immediately my GF starting asking him about Barbara, Matthew and Emily, they were celebrities in her eyes!!! Patrick told us that unfortunately they weren't there but they would be around. We did ask if we could get a King bed instead of the double bed since it was our anniversary but unfortunately we didn't get it, we would have to pay twice the amount to get upgraded. The rest of our stay was perfect, we even got some lovely goodies and a personal note from the staff which really made an impact on us! Upon checkout we had the pleasure of meeting Sonia, the experience manager! She truly embodies what a guest experience manager should be! She was very interested in hearing about our stay and any feedback we had. She even recognized that we were the girls that had been asking about the staff and were excited to meet them! It's nice to know that she really cared and was very happy to be able to talk to us!! The only negative of the whole vacation was that they didn't upgrade us to get our king bed, that would of truly made the entire stay that much better. Overall we had a great time and we will definitely be staying here again!! Christina Fonseca
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time!! Our runner, Kuek was SO helpful!! Dora, the IRD, was right on time with everything!! And Emily, the TOD, made sure the entire weekend went without a hitch!! We will certainly be returning to this location!! (yes, I know I used exclamation points in every sentence)
