"Fun, hospitable, clean"
We chose this hotel to get away from the busy city of LA, but little did we know secret service had taken over this property due to a particular individual stay during our arrival. It was a bit hectic, but also a pretty cool story to tell looking back. All in all, this hotel was as friendly as it could be. The valet was very quick and efficient. The front desk was exuded with smiles and warmth. Cynthia, made our stay very pleasant with her effectiveness and charming personality. I had the refreshing water that they keep purified with fruits in them. I was lucky to get my room upgraded due to an anniversary stay and it was a lovely gesture by the Hotel to make this stay as romantic as possible. Thank you so much for such kindness! Will be staying here again and again when in town. Only wish UCLA campus wasn't so close by.
I had to write a review after my stay here at this gem of a hotel. This beautiful hotel is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of LA and it was quite perfect for a relaxation that my family and I needed. Checking upon our reservations, Cynthia was quite helpful. The W Hotel got it right by having her warming personality and positive energy working the desk. Christine, was also very sweet and and made fantastic recommendations around the area. The room itself was cozy. We had heard the entire hotel was renovated and it was very thoughtout down to the T. We will most definitely stay here again at this property. Thank you for a great time !
"Lack of attention to detail"
Mr. Fishy has no one but himself to blame. He keeps staying at this hotel even though it shows him no love. Yes, it's in a great UCLA neighborhood, has spacious suites, a nice backyard pool and earns Starwood points. But over the course of multiple stays, I have been locked in the bathroom when the door handle fell off, waited endlessly for elevators, experienced no heat/ac, couldn't find anyone in the lobby area so I could check out, and on and on. This could be a fabulous hotel but lacks attention to detail and care.
"Great location "
I visited here with my mum for three nights. We chose based on location, which was really convenient for many things, including Getty and UCLA. The rooms and whole hotel are super modern. The fitness center is functional and open 24 hours. We were particularly impressed with the service provided by Christine Han and her team, including assistance with my mum's birthday celebrations. Can't comment on food or pool as we did not have chance to experience these. Hope to return in the future!
"Good Location, Tesla Electric Car Friendly."
I dropped to LA so I needed a hotel that I could charge my Tesla. The Tesla web site lists the W as having Tesla charging at the hotel. Big plus in choosing the W. The location is great if you need to be in westwood or near the 405. The hotel is a little dated and in need of a facelift in the rooms. They are modern and I think modern tires easily. Beds like all Starwood properties are very comfortable. The lobby is OK but it could be updated as well. Especially the bar. STK Steakhouse has also opened in the hotel. Good food but I found it a bit stark. My biggest complaint about the hotel is the bathroom. The room is large enough, although the vanity iin the bathroom s very very small. Its round with a round sink. This leaves very little counter space. Pretty much no counter space. A shelf on the wall would be a big help. Two people with a sundry kit will have a problem finding space. Its also very dated and plain. They provide robes in the rooms which is nice, but I was surprised there wasn't a hook in the bathroom to hang it up. Managment might want to go to home depot and make that little fix. Service has been very friendly and good so no problems there.
