"Great Location, Service, Slightly Lacking in Atmosphere"
Situated in Polanco, which is a great area to wander around. Like all W Hotels very modern, although I sense it might be due a slight refit/update. I thought the restaurant (Spanish Menu, so do not expect anything Mexican) was OK....nothing to get too excited about, although the service was exceptional and you have the option to sit outside, which was nice in February after flying in from the grim UK. Rooms were great, very high standard. Starbucks across the road with Wifi so good for a coffee. The bar is excellent but just lacked a bit of atmosphere (i.e. people) when I was there. Lots of hotel competition around, but I thought the charges were pretty reasonable
"Wonderful service and great rooms"
My fiance and I stayed at the W from January 27th to January 29th of 2017 when we traveled to Mexico City for leisure. The location of the hotel in Polanco is wonderful. It is a very nice and safe area which is very walkable. There are plenty of restaurants and shops close by, We arrived at the hotel at approximately 6am and they allowed us to spend the morning in the Spa which hadn't even opened yet until we could check in later in the morning. Once we got to our room we got a wonderful room. The room had a seating area and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was very nice with a separate sink, toilet, and shower area. The service is fantastic. The concierge desk is extremely helpful and they can get you whatever reservations you need without any real issue. The doormen and the bar staff are really nice and helpful as well. The Living Room is a nice place to spend an evening. We were lucky to get to watch Alan Walker perform a live set in the Living Room. An awesome property and we would certainly stay here again!
"Great hotel/Great location"
The W in Mexico City Polanco area was fantastic. Great hotel close to great nightlife. Felt very safe walking around during the day and early evenings. Just like most major cities, watch your surroundings and don't stray too far from crowds and you are just fine. The W has a great bar and reataurnat downstairs and everything in Mexico City happens late (after 9pm). Complements to the staff at the W and looking forward to another visit soon.
"W Hotel Day Spa "
W hotel day spa is a little oasis to escape the hectic fast pace life of overcrowded Mexico City. They have a wonderful detoxing temazcal which is an ancient prehispanic steam bath which is hard to believe that it actually exists una hip hotel in the heart of Mexico City. The massage therapists are wonderful a provide services tailored to your needs. We spent a full morning at the day spa enjoying the breath of fresh air in a crazy town. We are definitely doing this at least once a month!!! Not overpriced at all !!!
"Nice rooms within walking distance of most Polanco sites"
The lobby has a decent bar, and the rooms are thoughtfully decorated with local touches. Great amenities, and the Jose Andres restaurant gets very good reviews. The cab driver who was waiting to take me to the airport claimed he didn't have change, so either pre-pay at the hotel or make sure you have exact change for the approximately 400 peso fare. It would be great if an expensive place like this would stop charging for wi-fi.
