"Ecletic Decor in a Great Location"
The W Hotel has it´s usual whimsical decoration in a great location near Polanco and the Bosque. For some, the rooms may a little bit too modern, however, they serve their purpose well and on the higher floors have a great view over the city. A couple of good restaurants are in the building, and the hotel boasts a standard gym.
"Funky....moments of maybe too funkiness"
We stayed at this very well-situated hotel for a weekend visit to Mexico City. Quick and efficient check-in and check-out. Great room and comfortable king bed. Everything you'd expect from a W. (Didn't love the bath products, but maybe that's just personal taste.) We returned from our first day out and about to an uncleaned room - after enquiry Housekeeping lied and said we had left the don't disturb sign on, when in fact we had it on the door till about 10am when we left the room and took the sign off. We retuned at 5pm and no one had checked throughout the day. I'm always so surprised at this level of hotel that has such bad customer service skills: the first option I would have considered in their position was to apologize, offer us cocktails and in the bar and send housekeeping up immediately. Well, nope...after a 10 minute conversation about this and that, I had to suggest this solution. Oi! We retuned to a rough rushed cleanup job without all the bath products replaced. Whatever. First world problems, right. The next day we phoned down when we left the hotel to inform them housekeeping could come clean. Our last morning we decided to sleep in and hang out in the room -just taking it easy. We left the dont disturb sign on the door. Of course, front desk phones TWICE to enquire when we would leave the room, so they can come clean. What the heck'! Other than that, rowdy DJ-ed parties in the bar downstairs on two of the nights we stayed there. We were on the 20th floor, so no big deal - we can't hear the party up there, right. Yeah... not so. Rowdy guest downstairs come upstairs to their rooms. Loud slamming of doors and blabbering. I know, not the hotel's fault. Worth mentioning though. I guess, after spending enough on a hotel to expect good service and a professional serviced stay, I guess all I wanted to say is I'd reconsider staying here again.
"Excellent Location and rooms"
You can't beat the location: safe, walkable, lots of nearby Cafes... Theater, Parque Chapultepec and museums. The hotel has a 'younger' vibe than others in the chain, the lobby bar /second floor restaurant are frequented by 20, early 30 somethings... but there was no noise carrying over. The restaurants nearby are excellent and filled with locals. Mexico City is widely (and effectively) served by Uber so traveling to other areas was easy and safe as well.
"One of the best run hotels in Mexico City"
This hotel is a joy. The property is beautiful and the restaurant is a treat. But most of all we appreciated the staff----friendly, helpful, prompt and knowledgeable. All in all, one of the best hotels we have stayed in in Mexico.
"Clean, comfortable with a modern twist"
The rooms and the hotel was as expected clean, comfortable and with a modern twist. I loved the murals in each room and the overall renovation of the hotel. However I was disappointed when I was not able to get my preferred vodka on a Saturday night. Because Johnny Walker was sponsoring the night at the hotel bar the only option I had for vodka was Smirnoff or Ciroc, a corn based vodka or a grape based vodka. I had to leave the hotel and go to a near by bar in order to get a drink. This was very disappointing.
