"Friendly staff and spacious rooms"
Friendly check in staff and they honored my 24 request. The hotel is a little confusing to navigate but elevators are fast. The hotel is close to many restaurants and a park with a weekend market across the street. I didn't get upgraded but I had a nice also welcome note with bottle of wine to greet me. No happy hour at the bar for platinum level guest but they will probably give you a free drink coupon with your check in. Overall a good stay.
"Amazing hotel, amazing food, except few things went a little wrong"
We stayed here for one night as the last leg of our trip. As expected the W is always amazing and goes beyond in terms of facilities, service etc. Our room was great, big sized and awesome amenities. The restaurants are fun and people are always around which makes it enjoyable! The only problems was that the pool service wasn't great and sometimes you just want to sit by the pool and order yourself a cocktail. The worst part of all, was that at night there was a private function and the whole rooftop was closed - which was a shae, because it was our last night and we wanted to sit and look at the city. I don't think it is fair to close it off to guests of the hotel - we pay to use these facilities and it isn't really that fair. We heard the best part of the trip was to watch sunset on the roof - so really dissapointing that this occured. But nonetheless, I am sure it would have been a great experience. The food is awesome at the restaurant downstairs and all looked pretty cool. There is also a nightclub in the venue - but it was pretty empty when we were there, but great that there is so much to do there. You will definitely enjoy your stay and worth the money!
"Used to be a hip W hotel"
What a disappointment was our arrival in the hotel. We expected a W hotel, like Amsterdam, las Vegas... But we got a worn out W hotel. Not very clean, neither the rooms, nor the rooftop bar. Everything a bit damaged, not really attractive. But the worst was the guy at the night reception, he lied to us, that the rooms where next to each other, he told us the hotel was full, so he could not change anything etc etc. Worst reception ever. We complained to the hotel, and the offered us a better room, a bottle of wine to please us. But nothing materialized. The said some nice stuff, but did nothing. Even though the quest service lady made a great effort to cheer us up, but it was a little to late. She did reserve one of the best restaurants ever in Santiago, named COCO, what a restaurant was that. Further this hotel really damaged completely my opinion on the W brand.
"Excellent service but the rooms could use a renovation"
The hotel common areas are gorgeous and the staff are friendly- made our stay so much better. If you've stayed at a W, you know that you're going to pay for everything- breakfast, wifi, etc. Nothing is complimentary, even in a country where those things are standard. No problem with us, we expected it. What I wanted out of this hotel was the pool on the roof, which did not disappoint. However, I was extremely disappointed in our room. We stayed in a cool corner on the 9th floor, which was horrendous. Not a single item in the room did not show wear- the chair was all ripped up, scratches on the wall, stains on the curtains, mildew on the water faucet, brown stains on the bedding. Management switched us into a different cool corner on the same floor and it was better, but still peeling wallpaper, worn carpet, etc. I know that this hotel has a reputation of being the best in Santiago, so perhaps my expectations were too high, but the rooms are pathetic. There are now about 5 other hotels in the area with flashy rooftop pools and trendy scenes, the W needs to step it up if it still wants to be the place people flock to.
"Great place to stay"
We are two older people....60s...who enjoy having it nice when we travel. Staying at the W is one way to have it that way. This particular property is very nice and in an area that is trendy and relaxing. The breakfast buffet is totally great with so much on it that there is not excuse to go away hungry. The fruit section is the best and as it is beginning of summer here in Chile, there are lots of fresh and ripe fruits ....it was awesome! The rest of the hotel is good ....room service is good. If any complaint is that we got calls about "how were things" a bit often. I see another post about coffee/tea available....not quite true. We did request and did receive an electric pot and coffee cups. We do bring our own individual coffee packets as we tend to drink lots of coffee in the morning so....we made our own.
