"One of the best W's"
A gorgeous hotel located about 15 min walk from "The Tower". A little on the pricier end with very friendly staff. Great views of the mountains and the city. We were also told by locals this to be one of the best hotels in the city. Everything was great except for the tiny pool. VERY IMPORTANT: If you are going to take a cab, hail it from the hotel and do ask to be dropped of at the entrance of the hotel. Cabbies in Santiago (4 out 5 we took) unfortunately cheat tourists by trippling the meter fare. If you are dropped off at the hotel you can seek concierge's help to resolve the unexpected fare hike. Apparently it is very common in Santiago.
"Luxurious hotel with great restaurants and rooftop"
We stayed here for two nights. It is located in the high end, hotel-filled Las Condes neighborhood. The hotel's main entrance is actually not on Isidora Goyenchea. When you enter on Isidora Goyenchea, you feel like you are entering an office building and have to go up to the 4th floor to check in. There are multiple elevator banks, which is confusing and was not explained to us at check in. The hotel is luxurious though some of the decor in our room seemed quite worn. We stayed over the weekend and had no issues with noise. Our room also had a great terrace. Our favorite aspects of the hotel were the rooftop pool/bar with its incredible views and the Osaka restaurant.
"Excellent and trendy "
Excellent and trendy hotel. I loved the decor of the rooms, and especially the bathrooms with no shower doors and a separate toilet room, as well as a humongous bathtub. The hotel has at least two excellent restaurants. We went to Osaka which was outstanding. Breakfast is excellent as well. Beds extra comfortable and rooms nice and dark with the curtains closed. Towels large but a bit hard Excellent WiFi. On the down side - there could be more lighting in the room. We booked two Spectacular rooms with veranda for the same price, one with a king size bed and the other two twins. The room with the twin beds was 30% smaller than ours, and the bathroom half the size. It didn't seem like the same category as all. I was shown two other rooms, one worse and the other the same. My kids ended up staying in their original room but we felt cheated. The hotel did try to make up for that with free drinks with dinner at Osaka On the other hand, I had mistakenly booked one room correctly for two nights and the other for one night only, and we were not given any trouble for that. All in all it was a wonderful experience. This is the best place to stay at in Santiago.
I spent three nights at the W and it met my expectations for the price point. Very trendy, in a nice area that has quite a few options for dining and walking distance to two malls. We had a wonderful king room and it was spacious enough with a nice large bathroom. Make sure you get to the pool early if you want a seat in the shade. I think the hotel just lets anyone come up and use the pool and have lunch so it becomes crowded very quickly. I noticed what looked like students just studying and not ordering anything but spending the whole day. Not a problem for me since I am an early bird and was able to get good seats. If the pool is important to you I would recommend hotel Noi, it is less crowded since I think it is only for guests' Highlights: - Great beds and amazing pillows - Views from the pool are stunning, on a clear day you can see the snow caps of the mountains - Pleasant service from the concierge, front desk, bell man. The pool attendant was very friendly and stood out to me. General Feedback & Notes - Valet service would be nice, you have to go down multiple elevators and drive up multiple levels to park. Also, you are paying quite a fee to park already. - Attention to detail : Bathroom amenities were not replaced daily. - The pool's temperature is like a hot tub. I assume the sun must heat it quickly, but it was hot! - The iPad menus from the pool are confusing and unnecessary. You can't order from it and have them come to your seat, a classic paper menu would make more sense. The food was average pool food, nothing special. - Whisky Blue (their club') was OK. Very expensive drink and quite cramped. i don't think I would return and would ask around for a different "club" next time
I travelled from Canada with a buddy of mine from the States - we got to stay here on his points. As expected, the ambience, the room, and the service was excellent. However, what made this exceptional was that one of the staff, a Senegalese guy named Bamba, made the extra effort to help drive our rental car to the closest gas station and facilitated navigating the local area with much greater ease. It was really nice and they went out of their way despite the fact that I'm sure they knew we were staying here on points. Amazing
