I have visited the place and found it quite a unique experience in SPB. Its a really trendy place with excellent wifi in all its areas. The common areas are not big but there is always a place. Its a totally trendy place i could say just opposite Saint Isaacs cathedral, very close to the city center, just few min walk from Nevsky prospect. Unique for business and family holidays.
"Great location for business and sightseeing"
The hotel location is great. St. Isaaks Cathedral is just one building away. Hermitage and Admiralty are within 10-minute walk. Nevsky Avenue and Kazansky Cathedral could also be easily reached on foot. Although most of my trips (~40) were on business, it gave me a great chance to do a lot of sightseeing as well. All rooms (even standard ones) are very spacious, bathrooms are large, with several different showers and separate toilets, which is not very common at hotels, but is really convenient if there are two people staying in one room. Beds should be mentioned separately. I dare say, W beds are the most comfortable and relaxing beds I ever slept in. Wi-Fi is good and strong. The key asset of the hotel, however, are people working there. The staff is very responsive, a few technical issues I had were resolved within an hour, and they really remember your preferences like the sort of tea you prefer at breakfast or that you do not like green tea - I really mentioned it once to the lady replenishing minibars in the rooms and from that day on I got extra English Breakfast instead of green tea.
A contemporary decor.Very friendly staff.Room was large quite spacious and had all the mod cons.Bathroom was quite large and had a big walk in shower.Very clean.Had a coffee machine, but didn't get the pods replenished after the second day.Or the toilet roll.!Breakfast was brilliant, with a selection of breakfast styles .Continential, and english.Bacon and eggs.Large sitting area downstairs ,and a bar.
"Great concept, poorly maintained and overpriced"
The hotel was designed and originally built with a very good concept in mind. However, the property is coming of age. For example, the advertised TV built into bathroom mirrors did not work in any of the available rooms, and the performance of the air fan in the toilet was very poor (and unfortunately so was the isolation between the toilet and the room). In the spa, the swimming pool and jacuzzi were unpleasantly cold, and the turkish bath was unbearably hot even for sauna experts; however, the staff were unable to do anything about the temperature during the whole stay. Overall, concept and location excellent, maintenance could be improved to provide the advertised experience, especially in view of the room price.
"Velvet dreams in the heart of StPetes"
Chic, spacious, tasty - the hotel in 3 words. You will be charmed right at the door by the very particular atmosphere of the space. The colors, the textures, the scents - all emit a strangely modern take on 12 century Russian decadence. Velvet, silk and transparent plastics, golds, purples and browns. Spatious rooms, comfy beds, 5 minute walk from the Ermitage. The restaurant is superb too. One thing is the delicious dinner you can have there, another all together the names you will encounter on the menu. Please go and give it a try, you won't be disappointed. (And those horses outside the hotel around midnight..yes,you can rent them for a ride around the cathedral - only to have a complete the beautiful but surreal image of StPetes' true spirit.)
