April 14th. - 16th. Always wanted to give this hotel a try because we have been to the rooftop bar a few times whenever we came to D.C. The rooftop bar is trendy with great view and the foods were good. And judging by the look of the hotel and the lobby we thought it would be a very nice experience. About the room, we were on 9th floor (#932) without view. Beautiful hotel! The room was small, but cleaned and the staff were great! However, I do not care for the bathroom in the bedroom with glass wall, though. Fancy, trendy but not practical. At bedtime, the bathroom is pitch black, every time one of us had to use the bathroom, we had to turn the light on, so it shine right in our face and woke us up. Every time one of us taking a shower, the water flooded the floor outside the shower. We had to used all the towels in the room to keep the water from running everywhere. We reported it to the maids, she called her boss and nothing was done about it when we got back to the room that night. same thing happened the next day. At checking out desk we reported it again. We got..... a so sorry. We would stay there again because of the location. We were hoping for a discount for future stay, in the email, never got one but the bills. I would gave it a five stars if weren't for the bathroom issues.
"Great location, modern and very quiet room"
The location is fantastic, across the street from the Treasury and two blocks from the Mall and Washington Monument. Very modern and updated very quiet room with wonderful shower. Pricey but worth every penny. Valet parking was very efficient with unlimited in/out. Walking distance to numerous nice restaurants. Great rooftop bar view of the White House. We had an interior room but the roof top view was discreetly hidden by patterned frosted window glass. One negative is that management should pick up this roof top as numerous pieces of garbage and cigarette butts were present.
The lively W in DC is in a fantastic location - in the backyard of the White House - walkable to everything. My 11 year old daughter and I spent the weekend here to attend the March for Science, very close by. Our room had 2 double beds on the 9th floor, facing an interior courtyard, so it was quite dark, which I normally dislike. But it was very quiet, and that was more important for us, because this hotel is bustling and noisy in the lobby. We had room service breakfast which was just ok for the $50 we paid. Of concern was a "no nuts" request due to my daughter's serious allergy - but we got a nut filled granola sent up on the tray anyway. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider the W again.
"Science March Trip"
Great stay at W D.C. One of our favorite hotels. Great location and service. Ferade in the lobby bar was fantastic to our party both nights we were there. Love the champagne and cupcakes at check-in. Great brunch at the Pinea too.
"I loved my stay!!"
While in DC for a business meeting, I stayed two night in the W hotel. Great location. It was only a 15min drive from Union Station. The staff was very friendly. When I arrived, check in was very quick, but the rooms are on the small end (The wonderful room). It was only my husband and I and was was dying for more space. But room service was great. I would stay again, but reserve a bigger room. :)
