"3 star hotel hiding in a 5 star hotel"
We stayed here for 5 nights to explore Beijing and visit the Great Wall. Location wise, its across the road from a 24 hour McDonalds and a late opening Carrefour supermarket. The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk from Babaoshan subway station (line 1). Airport bus 16 leaves the airport and drops you outside the hotel, on the main road. It costs 16RMB each. We wanted to get the bus back but couldn't find any info regarding it. We asked in the hotel and they didn't know and couldn't direct us to a tourist office anywhere in Beijing. The hotel wanted to charge 460RMB (nearly £60) for a one way trip to the airport, so we took the subway. We paid 62RMB for 2 people to get to the airport. What a rip off from the hotel! Taxi's in Beijing are cheap, seatbelts don't exist and the drivers are a bit aggressive in their driving style. Oh and they may take you on a detour, but they are very cheap. it took us over 30 minutes to get from Sanlitun back to the hotel and the taxi cost 80RMB. Hotel facilities are pretty good although when we went to the spa to obtain a brochure not only did the receptionist not speak English but when we asked another member of staff for help she refused to help us. There were no brochures and she rudely told us we could even take any photos of the ipad she had the information on. Bearing in mind this is a 5 star hotel and the spa facilities were 1900RMB we went to reception and complained to the duty manager. He said he'd sort it and prompty delivered pictures of the ipad to our hotel room with an apologetic note. The pool looked pretty nice although after the issue with the spa receptionist we decided against using it. Check in and Check Out were pretty good and organised. Beijing is probably the biggest capital city in the world and with the hotel being on the west side it is about 30 minutes from Tianamen Square by tube, its a bit too far out for tourism. Overall, my advice is to stay on the East side near the expat neighbourhood of Sanlitun.
"wonderful 4 day stay"
beautiful hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Very clean. Beautiful and spacious rooms. Beds very comfortable. Well stocked each day with fresh towels. Delicious buffet breakfast and huge varieties of Chinese and Western food choices. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Was one of our favourite hotels in all of China.
"High classed hotel for business and leisure"
I had only one night in Beijing in connection with business meetings in the vicinity of the hotel which is quite far from the center. This hotel was recommended by our partners and it was a good choice. Unfortunately I did not have time to try the swimming pool and other facilities. The room was up to the standard as expected from a hotel of this class. I did have the breakfast with had a good selection of Chinese and European dishes.
"Always nice to be back"
I have been back in Beijing and wanda realm Beijing for short trip. Location and service as usual very good for business traveler however rooms getting aged. Breakfast very good aspecialy local pancake very tasty.
Not too much to add from the other reviews. Know it's location before you go, so you're not surprised by how far outside the city it is. It's right next to the huge Wanda Plaza (shopping mall), which includes Carrefour (a Western style grocery/everything store). The staff I encountered was very helpful. They brought over the one Chinese girl who spoke English well and she assisted me very well. I have to mention how excellent the dinner buffet was. I paid about 258 RMB. Totally worth it. Excellently prepared dishes in a variety of cuisines. Lots of meat choices, and lots of crab (King and Snow), salad, sushi, sashimi, all cooked very well.
