"Fabulous hotel in a great location!"
We loved our stay here. The prices were so reasonable for a beautiful air conditioned room in Little India. The staff were wonderful, breakfast was excellent & nothing was too much trouble. Thank you :)
"Didn't see that coming"
So the location wise is consider as good because it has nearby MRT train station (Rochor, blue line). I went there with my sister for Coldplay concert, mind you that the hotel is basically cater for couples but we don't really mind because we really wanted to try it out. The perks of it has to be their friendly staffs & the rooms! We got the Pantone (Black) room and it was the best room we ever had because practically Black is our fav colour. How coincidental it could be hahaha because we would've gave low reviews if we got other bright colours (to be honest). It is located at the back of the hotel and we dont mind because it's quiet at night and the Jacuzzi is at the back as well which is cool. The toilets are separated with the shower which is okay I guess as we could do our business much more faster. But Thank God for the frosted glass because I dont really want to see my sister naked in there hahahaha. They do gave several amenities or services for you like a phone (to be used as hotspots while you're out of the hotel) which I think it might be useful for us foreigners. If I knew about this sooner, I wouldnt have subscribed to my international roam data service but its okay, Heads up to Wanderlust for this amazing service. Free can drinks in the minibar fridge is totally a plus point! They refill it daily which adds another point to that! They got 2 cokes, 2 coke zeros, 4 juices (apple and orange) and 2 mineral water. Their shower amenities are cool as well, normally you would just see shower gels and shampoos but this time they have facial kits (cotton buds, cotton pads), dental kits and weirdly a moisturiser hahaha which is cool. Nespresso machine with 4 capsules (replenish daily as well) They do have umbrellas and hairdryer in the closet. To the Wanderlust staffs or anyone in charge, please put a mirror in the closet as I couldn't plug-in the hairdryer at the mirror near the sink cause there's no socket for that. That would probably help a lot! Since we're Muslims, our breakfast tends to be modified, we wanted to choose the "Big Breakfast" but there were sausages, hams and bacons which we ask to not have it on our plate. The server is kind enough to gave us other options on the menu besides those proteins we cant consume. It's still considered as a Big Breakfast for us as it comes with wholemeal toast, scramble eggs, baked beans, avocados, scramble eggs and pancakes which makes us very full. On our second day breakfast, the pancakes machine or mixer has difficulties and we're rushing out cause our flight is at 10am, so they gave us yogurt with fruits (which we dont mind really hahaha and its good). Please try the "chai-tea" because it is very good! and it has free refills as well. They do serve freshly squeeze orange juice as well (and its free refill also!) So each of us has 2 drinks! Totally didnt expect that. We tend to bring down mineral water to soothe out our drinks hahahaha. Overall we like it.
"Quirky, cool little place with great staff"
Very cool vibe to this place. Warehouse style bar and restaurant on the ground floor, with rooms above. The higher you go, the bigger the rooms. Second floor = tiny TINY rooms. Great if you just need somewhere to crash and that's it but you don't wanna spend any time in these. Third floor is more like a normal hotel room. Slightly odd layout with the bathroom a part of the main room, but whatever. And fourth, and top floor, has loft style rooms. The bed is up a ladder, which is super cool. And downstairs you have a sofa, and living space. Also the bath, in the middle of the room. Kinda cool. Don't stay here if you don't know the person you're staying with VERY well. Or unless you want to get to know them intimately! Staff were fantastic. I booked a small room by accident but they helped me upgrade and put in an extra bed for the kids at no extra cost. Wouldn't stay more than a night. But for that it's a fun, different type of place. Worked for us as we arrived late.
Booked the Wanderlust for overnight stay pre-cruise. The location in Little India was ideal for beginning a short exploration of Singapore"s traditional ethnic neighborhoods. We were originally attracted to the Wanderlust because it was 'different', if certainly did not disappoint. We had booked a mono room but got upgraded to the Whimsical, it was a treat. I think it probably 'captures' the spirit of the hotel better than the mono room. We arrived very late - after 2:00 AM - because of a flight delay, hotel security/bellman met us at our taxi before we even realized we had arrived. Checked in and baggage in our room within 10 minutes. Rooms are small but well appointed however if someone has mobility issues this is not the hotel for you. The stairs to the loft bedroom are more like a ladder and the step into the shower/tub would be difficult. The breakfast was fine and we liked the fact that it was made to order as opposed to yet another breakfast buffet. The location would be great for a longer stay in little India. We would definitely book again.
"Average Hotel in the Hood"
I have spent 3 nights at Wanderlust and overall it is an average/good hotel. I stayed in the orange pantone room, which is bright orange and tiny. I wouldn't recommend it for 2 people. For a solo traveller it is ok. The hotel is located in Little India, very near Rochor MRT station, 5 minute walk. The hotel is in the hood, around funky, horrible mini marts and dodgy looking restaurants. The hotel itself is fine. The lobby/restaurant/bar is quaint and that's about it. Breakfast is also good but not really what you would expect from a SPG hotel. You choose from 8 options of food (avocado on toast, eggs and bacon on a brioche, complete breakfast with sausage and scrambled eggs) and 3 kinds of beverage (coffee, 1 kind of juice and tea) Pros: - Comfy bed with great linen and good towels. - Nespresso Machine - Complimentary Mini bar with water, coke, juice - Some sort of in room cell phone with apps and stuff. - Good housekeeping - Good quality toiletries. Cons: - Pantone rooms are color coded! You might end up in an ALL bright yellow or red room. - Room is so dark - Room is so tiny. If travelling with another person, pick another kind of room, not the pantone, unless you want to share every noise and smell. - It is a bit noisy outside thanks to an alley cafe/bar ( photo of the view and bar/cafe) - The room is definitely not sound proof. Seems like the walls are made of some sort of plaster. If I come back to amazing Singapore again I won't be staying here.
