"Great boutique hotel in Little India"
If you want fun, quirky, clean, great location near MRT than stay at the Wanderlust. We just spent four nights and had a great time. The MRT is a few minutes walk and we caught it to the Zoo, Raffles, Marina Bay and it was quick and efficient. The Hotel is not for everyone but if you want to stay somewhere different, surrounded by good local restaurants, and not the standard big hotel than Wanderlust is a winner!!
"Quirky eccentric little boutique with a twist. "
We arrived @ the wanderlust after a two week tour of Bali, our last stop before heading back to London. We arrived smack bang in the middle of the amazing little India district of Singapore and came across this little gem of a hotel. Small but perfectly thought out with an amazing eccentric interior. The hotel was originally an old school house and was converted to a hotel a few years ago. This is a fun place to stay with quirky style inside and out "a designers dream" but please don't think you will get Space as the hotel rooms are tiny! Tiny but well designed. Not enough room to swing a cat "so to speak" they have a small well thought out jacuzzi on the second floor with a small roof garden that we used to chill out and have a gin and tonic before hitting the town. Breakfast; after stating in Bali we expected to have a good choice of Breakfast options available but we where dissatisfied with the options available here! 1 out of 10 for creativity. They didn't offer fresh coffee or tea instead they had an old school pot of Luke warm stewed tea and coffee that tasted terrible. We used this hotel as a base to sleep in as you wouldn't come back to relax after spending the day sight seeing and shopping. We just came back showered "no bath" unless you go for a more expensive room and went straight out on the town. All in all if your looking for a quirky place to stay in a great area that's away from all the big hotel chains then yep stay here but don't expect all the bells and whistles as you will be dissatisfied. By the way the staff are brilliant. Work on the breakfast as it's terrible and lets the hotel down badly!
"Boutique hotel is a all about the space to swing the the cat"
My first impression of the hotel location was very disappointing. Set in a very noisy, dirty street. Not very good impression of the lobby or the location. We were allocated a room on the second floor. It was dirty and dingy. No lighting. Hardly any space for two adults with two normal size suitcases. We were actually stepping over the suitcases to get to the washroom facilities. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. Very basic. I will definitely not every stay at this or any other hotel with "Boutique" in their name
Particular "boutique" hotel. Used it for a one night stopover. Which is fine, definitely not a business hotel. Weird internal lighting is great if you don't have to read. Centrally located, the area outside the hotel can get noisy at night. Rooms are large enough, and the bed very comfortable. Absolutely clean, and with a large bathroom.
"Charming Boutique Hotel in Little India"
Overall, we had an excellent experience staying at Wanderlust Hotel. We initially booked Pantone Double Room (2nd category of 5), but due to an overbooking we received a very generous two step upgrade with a mono deluxe room (4 of 5). Furthermore, the staff was very friendly, throughout our stay extremely helpful and took care of us very well. Bars, restaurants and the great food court Tekka Centre are within walking distance and you can easily set out to explore further parts of the city via the closely located subway stations (Bugis and Rochor). Also, it's worth adding breakfast to your booking. The menu is excellent and provides European as well as traditional Singaporean and Asian dishes.
