"Rebecca and Clodagh's Visit"
We had a lovely stay at Wanderlust. We were so well cared for and would happily stay again. This small boutique hotel is quirky and affordable. It's location in Little India is refreshing and much more culturally interesting than many of the resort and mall areas. It is well located between Bugis and Little India MRTs making it easy to get to and from both the airport and Universal Studios etc. My 9 year old daughter and I easily and safely negotiated an 8 minute walk from the MRT upon arrival at around 9pm. No dramas at all and were warmly welcomed. We ate a delicious Barramundi meal at Cocotte Restaurant on site and had a fabulous sleep in a super comfy bed in the Yellow Submarine room. The staff were exceptional in every way and should be commended for their kindness and hospitality.
Book this hotel for staycation for a night. Facilities was good. Stayed at the Whimsical Room (Red Space) Pros: - Foosball at the lobby - They have handy phone for tourist who needs data when they are out - Nespresso machine in room (4 capsules) - A few choice of tea in room (Green tea, Chamomile etc) - Nice and funky design room - Nice thai food beside the hotel - Good location ( near to bugis, sim lim) - Very comfortable bed - Complimentary mini bar ( Coke, Coke zero, Apple Juice, Orange juice, Mineral water) Cons: - The water temperature for the bathtub is too cold. Even when turned to the warmest - Too little electric socket too many appliances (Nespresso machines, hairdryer, electric kettle, HP Charger - Stairs in Whimsical room are too steep and small. My shoe size is 3.5 and i cant fully step on the steps when walking down. (room is not well lit making it dangerous, not a con for me) - Pillow is too soft (personal preference) could not sleep through the night. Overall good experience, minus the insomnia due to the soft pillow.
"wedding week "
i always like spg hotel , but wanderlust , ummm .. how to say - not a lot of taxi knows where is it, when i first arrived to this hotel my impression is like: i like the lobby area, and then i got red room, but when i already got into my room, i was surprise, the room literally like the name not my cup of tea :) but what i like the most is the service, room division gave a lot of help and fast response too thanks to all and most special to one girl from the housekeeping. thank you.
"Design hotel - good location - very good restaurant"
like some other SPG platinium member here, i was curious to try this hotel. So I stayed there for 2 nights for work. Pros: - location in little india. you can walk to an MRT station. many shops around - design. from the lobby to the room, the design is very unique and charming. (they have a foosball table in the lobby. and some old barber chairs) - Restaurant. even if it is not part of the hotel. the food is was really good. - rooms: I have been upgraded to a bigger room with a large shower It had a nespresso machine with 4 capsules. so it is more than enough. the fridge had some free drinks too. - Beds: the bed was really good - Free mobilphone with overseas call they provided me with a free phone to carry around during my trip which i could use to call overseas for free and have access to internet. i have not tried it. but it might very usefull for some other guests. - Jacuzzi on the 2nd floor, they have small terrace with a large jacuzzi. - Shampoo/Shower gel/conditionner: nice ones Cons: - even in my upgraded room the table to put the laptop was small. But it was still workable. - restaurant is not open on Tuesday. - you cannot charge the restaurant to your hotel bill. (you cannot settle the restaurant bill upon check out with your hotel bill. you have to pay the restaurant separetly) - they dont apply all the SPG benefits. But on their defense, they dont really belong to SPG. those new hotels are partners apparently (as platinium you normally can choose between free breakfast or some points or some gift. here it was not possible) - no table/stand to put your luggage. However when i mention it to them, they said they could bring me one. So to conclude: It is a nice hotel, with good services, good location and a good restaurant. if you are big traveller and you are looking for a new experience. it is a good place to go. if you expect to have the same experience as in a sheraton or le meridien. you might not like it.
"Overall pleasant experience but can be improved"
Although it’s a boutique hotel, it comes with a mini garden and a mini rainbow jacuzzi pool where you can soak yourself in. However, we spotted some dead leaves floating on the water, we though it might not be a good idea to soak ourselves in it. So, we soak our feet instead while we enjoy the complimentary drinks from the minibar 🙂 Breakfast was served at Cocotte, located on the ground level of Wanderlust, which provides unpretentious rustic French cuisine in a casual and comfortable setting. To be honest, I really love the decor and ambience but I think the staff need to be more attentive. It took us quite some time to get someone to have our order taken for breakfast.
