"Funky rooms, in old Singapore"
On arrival the staff we very friendly, and made us very welcome. The room, a Mono Room, was decorated in a really 'funky' style, had a big bed, most comfortable, free mini bar, safe and toiletries available. The room was made up daily, and keep very clean. All of the staff were most friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was in the restaurant on the ground floor, and offered a number of different dishes as well as having juice, cereal, toast, fruit and coffee available. We had eggs, or muslie (which was THE BEST) or pancakes during our stay. We were given use of a free mobile phone so we then make free phone call, free overseas calls, and have a mobile data source in Singapore, such as Maps and info while out touring. With a new MRT opening soon about 200m away, it will be even easier to get around, but its wasn't too far to walk from Rochor MRT. Loads of great restaurants close by, and being in an area of shop houses, it feels like the Singapore of old, but inside you are in a modern setting. A great stay, our 2nd in Singapore with this group of hotels and we can recommend this place.
"Great wee spot with loads of bonuses! "
Fantastic wee spot outside the main CBD. Loads of extras including, free mini bar, free cell phone with unlimited local and international calls as well as data. You can take it everywhere with you and tether to your personal phone for data everywhere. Friendly service, fantastic breakfast included. Only thing I didn't enjoy was the coffee but not bad enough to ruin the experience! Will be back next time in Singapore! Thank you!
"My favourite Singapore hotel!!!!!"
I am actually a UK based travel agent and visited this hotel for a site inspection on a previous visit to Singapore (though the hotel didn't know that). I said to myself then if I ever came back, this is the hotel I would book for myself...so I did and I was not disappointed!! We checked in on a Tuesday afternoon for a superb 2 night stay. I knew the rooms were a little small and I didn't really want to share a double with my friend so we booked a pantone room each. I was given the pink room and my friend had green. The rooms are quirky and comfy with great extra facilities (like a free soft drinks mini bar, use of an umbrella, free local calls, even earplugs). Breakfast is a treat with a choice of local or international food and the service the staff provide is exceptional. Little India is a great place to stay and there is a metro station round the corner. Everything about this hotel is unique and its one of the few hotels I have been to you can actually call boutique. I would choose this hotel every time and cannot praise it enough, though of course its note going to be everyone's taste. They also make the best 'sling in the city!!!!
Spent 1 night in the Mono room. Room was comfy and clean and the service was good. The lobby area is pretty cool, but the rooms fell short of my expectations as it wasn't as quirky as i would have expected from a boutique hotel. But nonetheless, a comfortable stay!
"The Relationship Maker"
Wanderlust is a unique, quirky, very clean hotel staffed by incredibly helpful employees. That being said, we probably wouldn’t book a pantone room again any time soon. Whilst I cannot vouch for all rooms, the green pantone room certainly was an experience. You quickly get over the overt colour of the rooms dismissing it as eccentric and fun; however, this hotel is a relationship make or breaker for new couples given the toilet is practically on the bed. There is no room for being shy unless you send your partner/roommate from the room every time you need to use the lavatory. Two people sharing a bed set into the tiles (imagine a spa bath with a mattress in it) where one person is required to do an awkward climb over to exit is also not the best arrangement for adults. The green pantone room had the added benefit of being spa adjacent. Whilst the spa was terrific, the blaring music that randomly pumped out of the speakers until closing time was not. Same goes for the other hotel guests who defied the spa opening hours and sat talking outside of the room windows. Both made for a noisy stay – lucky ear plugs were provided! The “handy” (hotel supplied smart phone used to access the Internet outside of your room) was new to us but we used it daily for maps and discounts. The mini bar including juice, soft drinks and water bottles as well as the coffee pods for the machine were all included in the price, which was also a bonus. Keep in mind all rooms are different so I am sure there are more functional rooms and better experiences out there! Just choose wisely!
