of TripAdvisor Travelers recommend this hotel
We spent three nights in this hotel and will confidently recommend it for its first-class service. The staff at Reception went extra mile to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. We were given some soft drinks on arrival, check-in was prompt and smooth and we got a lot of information (maps, bus itineraries, shuttle timetable, etc) The room was nice and light although not very big, with complimentary soft drinks and water in the mini-bar, replenished every day, and tea and coffee facilities. The very handy complimentary thing was "handy" mobile with access to Internet throughout Singapore (you can even make international calls to UK and some other countries). We bought tickets to the Gardens at the Bay for 22 SGD thru the device (at the counter they cost 28 SGD). The hotel is located a walking distance from Outram Park MRT, but we used either the hotel shuttle (it has limited service) or a bus (one stop) to get to it as it's not easy to walk when it's 33C (feels like 42C)... Would recommend anyone buying ez link cards in MRT stations for travelling in Singapore, even for a short stay which you can use for MRT or bus travel (they are similar to Oyster cards in London)... The breakfast at the hotel was good - you can order eggs in any shape or form, there are some asian dishes (dumplings, rice), cold snacks and a selection of pastries. There are some local eateries just next door to the hotel. We tried the "chicken rice" at Campong Chicken Eating House for lunch (just 5 SGD), it was a very nice light option of the famous Singaporian dish.... The only thing we did not quite like about the hotel was the design in the bathroom: the toilet and the shower are not partitioned which results in splashing the water when taking a shower into the toilet area. Also, no hooks really to put the clothes on... The appearance of the bathroom is modern and attractive, but not very practical.... Once again, would definitely recommend this hotel, first and foremost for its excellent service. Many thanks to all the staff for making us feel welcome!
A smaller hotel whose team welcomed us really warmly. When checking in the reception staff had some nice recommendations for our short stay in Singapore. As a mentionable service you get a 4G smartphone for free use including free international calls to certain destinations and as a help for navigating through the city. All soft drinks in the mini bar, a morning newspaper and a scheduled shuttle service are complimentary. The breakfast in the small rooftop restaurants offers some good variety. Rooms are stylish and clean like the rest of the hotel and the equipment leaves no wishes open. And if there is anything you will always reach the reception to fulfill your wishes. We definitely recommend the Wangz.
"Nice hotel, price abit too high"
Room rate abit too high but the location is good. Easy to find food near to singapore general hospital . May consider to stay in future if the rate adjust. They are still many cheap hotel near to city area.
"A very pleasant SURPRISE"
We recently stayed at this property for four nights. Now let me say this is not "a five star" property in the usual sense of the word, it has no swimming pool and it is a little away from mainstream Singapore. On the plus side it is easy to access Singapore's attractions whether you look to get to Orchard Road, Clarke Quay, or the Marina Bay area. Generally, about S$7 by taxi. It is adjacent to very decent restaurants including local markets stalls and walking distance from Chinatown. If you need to be near or have business at the Singapore General Hospital, well that's right across the road. Taxis were readily available on Outram Road at any hour and the hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Outram MTR station. The hotel also runs a (limited) shuttle service. The hotel is qwerky....well round....and has about 44 quest rooms....so not large. All rooms are well lit and airy (large windows to the world) serviced by two lifts and we never had to wait. Our room was well appointed by the usual appliances, king bed was comfortable, linen was excellent, wifi was free and worked seamlessly in the room on a range of devices. The bathroom although a little small had a shower with plentiful hot water and at all hours of the day. For a small additional charge we were able to have a late checkout. I think this is sensible particularly when your flight leaves at midnight. Breakfast was adequate with juice (2 choices), cereal (three choices) including a great muesli, eggs were available on demand and with accompaniments, four hot options and there was always fresh fruit, pastries, etc. Not the lavish spreads that are evidenced at the larger properties but adequate by any reasonable examination. Housekeeping (and its staff) was excellent and occurred without interruption, and unlike other experiences in Asia in highly regarded properties, whenever we returned to the hotel the room had always been serviced. Whenever you returned to the hotel iced cold fresh water was always available in the foyer...simple but welcoming. Adjacent in the Tiong Bahru area, quite historical, we'd recommend you visit Books Actually, Plain Vanilla for scrumptious cakes, Chapter 55 a typical suburban bistro with Italian theme and great gelati and House of Peranakan Petit, a small but traditional Nyonya restaurant. Finally, all the staff were very warm and pleasant, always attentive and efficient. Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay at Wangz!!
"Great Service, Great Location, Fab Hotel !"
We stayed here for 6 nights and couldn't really fault our stay. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to help us with anything that we needed. The hotel itself is small, but that added to the charm of the place and it made our experience overall more personal. The location is great, right the bus stop and only a 7 minute walk to the closest MRT station. However we tended to use the UBER services as we found them more handy when we wanted to get to somewhere quickly. Speaking of 'handy'' the Handy phone they loan all of their guests was an absolute dream. It really enhanced our experience and allowed us to visit places we would have never known where there. We also booked a lot of our trips through it at a discounted price. The only negative I would say is that the rooftop bar was not really as described. There is only a really small outdoor area, and there is not a lot of atmosphere up there. It is not a place I would recommend going for a drink. Other then that though, it is a hotel I would definitely stay again in the future.
