First off ill just start by saying WOW. What an absolutely fantastic hotel!! You would be a fool to pass on staying here! We arrived on the 20th of April and stayed for 4 nights and there is not one thing just could say is bad about this hotel! We arrived at 1pm and as it was our honeymoon the very kind lady on the check in desk upgraded us to a suite!! Wifi usage included! I nearly cried thank you so much!! And the room was ready when normal check in is 4pm. The room was fantastic, clean, had lovely towels and super comfy beds. Clean bathroom with little toiletries included and cable TV in both rooms. Wifi was fast. Very homely. We were situated on the 5th floor which was great and had no problems with lifts etc. You get free coffee served in the mornings till 11am by the lobby which was a bonus! No noise either in the rooms at night. The location is absolutely spot on. Your right on the magnificent mile close to all shops, bars and restaurants. Loads of things to go do and see. Lots of shopping to do! We arrived by train which was also super easy. One quick change to the red line and your here from O’Hare. All the staff here are so lovely, everyone single person would say hi and always on hand to help. Give this hotel a chance. It's clean, modern and spot on location. What more could you want' I'll most definatly be returning to this hotel on my next visit to chicago!!
"Amazing location - smaller rooms"
We just attended a family wedding at this facility. Since the hotel was built in the 1920s many of the rooms are small unless you request a suite, then they are larger. We had roughly 15 rooms so we saw many of them. The corner suites were very large and were very nice with a fully living room and large bedroom and bathroom. Outside the corner units the suites are smaller but still have a living area and decent size bedroom, but the bathroom is very small. I think the standard rooms would be very small. Our main complaint is that the elevators are VERY slow. You can easily wait 5 minutes or more waiting for one to arrive and then it could be full. Our room attendant was stingy with cups, and coffee and soap. I had to ask for re-fills a few times and she had trouble understanding me. You can't beat the location as you can walk to everything downtown.
"Wonderful Stay for a anxious mom and calm daughter!"
I absolutely loved this hotel! The building itself is nostalgic and so beautiful! I was feeling pretty overwhelmed (shift in pace of surroundings), and traveled with my 11 yo daughter. She loved the ambiance of the hotel, and all its amenities. I loved that the staff was so helpful, thoughtful, and most importantly patient. There is some obvious price inflation, but that's to be expected based on location. The hotel is situated in the middle of it all, and that definitely makes your stay better. The rooms were clean, easy to navigate, quiet, with soft bedding/pillows, and nice toiletries included. I utilized a Groupon discount, but would definitely stay here again, even at retail. Book with the Warwick Allerton hotel, and you won't be disappointed.
"Great value, better location!"
I found Warwick Allerton and booked via Hotels.com and found it was one of the more affordable options on the luxurious Michigan Ave. It was also nice that I could reserve a room a month in advance for free and not be charged until check-out. I was in the city for a conference at the Palmer House and the walk (15-20 minutes) was easy and scenic. Not to mention being about a mile north of the conference hotel saved me a lot of money. The hotel is older - the elevators were under renovation (to make them quicker) during our stay, but we didn't see any huge delays. The room was older - the fans for the HVAC and bathroom were loud, but not totally unbearable. If you're staying longer than 3 days, you can defer standard room service (new towels and sheets every day) for a $10 credit towards food/drink/room service. A nice little perk. Also, we were able to leave our rooms with the concierge on our last day for no added fee (but remember to tip your bell hop)! Location was great. About a 45 minute drive from O'Hare. The hotel has plenty of pick-up and drop off points for taxis / Uber's. Shops, restaurants, Starbucks, bars, etc all within walking distance. 20 minute walk to Navy Pier, 10-12 minute Uber to Old Towne and 15 to Wrigleyville. Overall, I would stay here agin if the price is right!
"Check in is a bit chaotic but see past that....."
This is a grand older hotel that had a recent renovation. It has a setup w the bell service on street level, and check in/ lobby on the 2nd floor. Foods on the 4th floor. All that's fine unless your elevators are slow and limited due to elevator renovation. If you have a tight schedule arrive early. Don't expect to check in before the official check in time of 4 pm. I actually had to stand in the line twice because at 3:50 the room wasn't ready, but at 4:02 it was. All was forgiven though, as I got a fab upgrade to a suite w Michigan ave views! Join their membership club. U are definitely recognized for that and for being a repeat guest. My room was fantastic w a comfy bed and 3 Windows w city views. The bathroom was small but well designed w room for my stuff. I requested and got a quiet room...I didn't hear a thing all night. Best of all is the uber friendly and helpful staff. Oh and the great location just off Michigan avenue.
