I arrived early for check in and there were absolutely no rooms available. After waiting 3 hours and about to head to another hotel, Olga leaped into action and saved the day. She upgraded me to a suite on with a fantastic view. In addition, she checked in with me each time she saw me in the lobby. The bellmen were fantastic from checking in with a ton of luggage to checking out and needing a minivan taxi to accommodate 3 people plus all of the respective luggage. I cannot speak highly enough of everyone at the Allerton!
This is a great historical hotel , right in the heart of the city . Shopping on the magnificent mile is a quick left or right . The breakfast every morning down in the lobby is amazing! We asked for an upgrade and a room with a view and it was granted . The maids were REALLY friendly as well as all the staff!!
Was looking forward to staying in this landmark while visiting Chicago but that optimism left as soon as we stepped into our room. My partner and I travel a lot and never have we had such a small, cramped, awkward and shabby room as the one we were put into at the Allerton. Well, maybe in Warsaw. Awful. How is this place rated four stars''' We expected old school grandeur and instead got worn, frayed sheets and a bed in a room so tiny that we can't even walk around it. The lobby (entry') looks like something put together from the remainders an airport Marriott circa 2000. We'd leave but not sure it's worth the hassle at this point. I'd give this place one star but because of its convenient location alone it's getting two.
"Tiny Tiny Tiny rooms"
My company paid a lot for a room here and when I arrived it was very tiny. My room had a queen size bed in it and on each side of the bed was barely a foot of space. There was barely any room to put your belongings and hardly any room to get dressed. When I looked up other rooms I noticed the larger rooms were cheaper than what I actually paid and did not even receive anything close to a decent size room. Also walking through the hallways it looked run down and dirty. The elevators were so small that you could only fit like four people on at a time and that is if no one had any luggage. Most of the staff were rude and not helpful at all. The only helpful people were the bell hops. I was very disappointed with the Warwick Allerton Hotel!
"This is a very old hotel renovated with much modern day flair!"
We had a corner room facing the Magnificent Mile. Our roo was very quaint and comfortable. The view from the corner windows was absolutely amazing, best at night. when the city was glowing. The lobby is spacious and inviting. The breakfast buffet offered was a bit expensive, (but it is Chicago) yet very tasty and filling.
