It is a very good hotel, no serious complaints about anything; but not excellent. It does not seem to be as great as Hilton brand.Comment of T. Jandhyala BG , India the 2015-01-23
"Very Nice Hotel and Nice Location for a Short Stay"
I stayed one short night in the Washington Hilton Hotel to leave early the next day to meet legislators for Arts Advocacy Day. The Washington Hilton is in a really pretty neighborhood and is about a 15 minute cab drive from Capitol Hill. I checked in at around 12 midnight and there was still valet parking service that came quickly and took care of my car. Check in was friendly, quick and easy. The hotel and parking were both a bit pricey but it's D.C. so it's what I expected. The lobby is very nicely kept as are all the common areas of the hotel. I like to stay in Hiltons, especially when I'm on business. The rooms are nearly always quiet with a really comfortable bed. The Washington Hilton did not disappoint. The bathroom was clean and had all the needed amenities. There was coffee in the morning and since I am a Hilton member they put me on the 10th floor where there was a nice little breakfast room a short walk down the hall from my room. Again, staying at the Hilton brands often really makes business travel easy, pleasant and comfortable. My morning check out was quick, friendly and efficient. The Hilton kept my car for the day without additional charge and we checked our luggage for the day as well. The Washington Hilton served us well and I recommend it for anyone wanting to do business on the hill.
"Working trip to DC"
You expect top quality service from the Hilton organization and you get it at this property. Remember that this is a large hotel and can be busy at the front desk. I did have to wait on the Hilton Honors line longer than if I had gone to the regular line, but the reception people were very helpful and courteous. The hotel is walking distance to a multitude of restaurants and some landmarks. You might want to take cab or car to the National Mall to see the big monuments and the Smithsonian. The hotel does have a couple of restaurants in house that are not bad. I found the hotel to be of the class you would expect Hilton to be - good!
"Hotel is in dire need of TLC"
Would not stay here again despite it's great location! We paid for executive floor room, was very disappointed in the size and cleanliness of hotel room. My husband and I couldn't get ready in the bathroom at the same time. Toilet was pretty much right in front of mirror, shower head was moldy, we stayed in NYC prior to our arrival and I expected the NYC hotel room to be tiny but it was fabulous and it was less expensive. This hotel needs a makeover. The location is great but other than that I was not impressed. We will not stay at this location again.
"Dirty rooms and no ambition to help when confronted. Very disappointed."
Unfortunately the room was dirty. There were long black hair on the bed when I arrived and lots of crumbs on the floor in front of ny bed where i would step when getting out. Even after telling personnel to clean, this did not happen despite them telling me they had cleaned and would take better care of the room now. After another complaint they came with several people and then started hoovering without giving me a chance to first leave the room. My colleague had some kind of insect bites on her leg in the morning. I was very disappointed and will certainly not stay here again. It makes me wonder, if I should take my business to a different hotel group in general. location of the hotel is very nice. breakfast is fine.
"Best hotel experience in DC!"
Stayed here for a business conference, and loved everything about it. FANTASTIC customer service, from check-in to check-out; they really went out of their way to make sure I was enjoying my experience. Great location, with many excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. Nice exercise room, never overcrowded during my stay. On the conference facilities side, all of the A/V issues were smooth, and our group just loved the entire experience. Thanks -- I'll definitely be back! (Side note: there is a neat plaque on a wall near the sidewalk marking the spot where President Reagan was shot; so much history with this hotel, such as the annual correspondents' dinner.)
