"Great Location, Marriott Good!"
We find the Marriott chain to be very consistent in the delivery of a quality product and this one does not disappoint. It is close to the middle of DC, it has a Metro stop right outside the door, there is a Starbucks inside and the rooms and service are a consistent Marriott quality product. Rooms were good size for a metro hotel and room services were excellent. As always the restaurants in a hotel can be a bit of a rip off on certain items but their Happy Hour is a bargain for a hotel. Certain wines, beers and some appies we're half price and very good. Room prices always vary based on time of year, week, weekend, AAA etc so make your best deal! If you want a nice hotel in close proximity to all of DC this fits the bill.
This was my first time staying in a Marriott hotel and it was a great experience. I purchased my room online, and signed up for the Marriott Hotel rewards program---best decision ever! Through the rewards program, I was able to get free wifi for my stay (it's normally $12 a night), and check in early by downloading and using the Marriott app. As for the hotel, it was clean and updated. The location is what really makes this hotel great. There is a metro station (Metro Center) right at the end of the block, and it's not that far of a walk from the White House and other monuments, if you're ok with walking. DC is my favorite city, so I will definitely be back, and chances are, I'll choose to stay in this hotel again.
"A big city centre hotel..."
A standard offering from Marriott in a central location. You know what the room will look like if you have stayed in any of their US properties. The breakfast offerings are varied that is often not a buffet which really does make a change to have a freshly cooked breakfast. Coffee is terrible...like dishwater it is so weak. Room service is odd in that everything is packed into take away boxes and delivered with plastic cutlery In a shopping bag. It obviously saves the hotel money on washing up but for the prices charged one would expect it on a tray, on good quality plates and with metal cutlery. Great conference facilities. Free internet if you join their loyalty scheme at the desk. Saves quite a bit as the charges are high.
"Great location....great bellhops...everything else fair"
I was really looking forward to our trip to DC for a family wedding. The bride and groom picked this hotel for their out of towners and the location could not be beat. I had been in contact with the hotel repeatedly requesting for the 2 rooms I reserved to be connecting. They couldn't guarantee the connection, but it did work out and for that I am really grateful. We arrived at the hotel early....around 830am. Again, I had contacted the hotel and advised and pleaded if there could at least be one room ready, we would be so happy. Unfortunately, that did not occur, and I understand. Check in was at 4pm, but they promised to try and get us in as early as possible, even advising that one room was unoccupied and almost ready. They would call/text when it was ready. At 3pm, still no call, so we went back to the hotel, only to find out that it was ready and somehow someone missed giving us a call. I was really disappointed. We got to our room and one of the rooms bathrooms smelled like it had been smoked in. Really musty. Just a very unfresh smell. The rooms were clean otherwise and I thought that the housekeeping staff was really exceptional. They were generous with extra towels which is always appreciated. The bellmen were great. Very friendly, happy seeming, wanting to offer advise on where to go and what to see and even apologizing for the poor weather. The concierge was hard to find and really seemed like we were bothering her. She wasn't very helpful. Just handed us a piece of paper with restaurants listed. Most concierge will take the time to get to know you and figure out what you would like. Nope, she was too busy with no one else in line to see her. Yikes. We had a private sunday brunch thrown by family members and the food was fantastic. Above average. All in all, the hotel was fine. The location was really great.
I can't say enough about how great the staff was at this hotel. The valet crew was very helpful and professional. I was in DC for a conference and they were great. The restaurant has very good sliders. Plenty of places to eat nearby. The metro is down the street. The room was clean. Very nice place to stay.
