Simply, you will enjoy your stay at the Marriott Wardman Park; the location is incredible. The entrance to Metro is 150 feet or so from the hotel lobby and is without question the best method of transportation in the city (that is if you do not have an preference for Uber or taxi cabs). There are also an impressive diversity of restaurants on the block outside the hotel.Comment of H. Glen , United States the 2015-06-03
"Nice stay in a nice area"
We stayed here during a week in DC right around Christmas time, so the city and the hotel were overall pretty quiet, and the rate was very low (so I was unsure what to expect). The room we had was recently updated and was quite comfortable. The Bathroom is a touch small, but nowhere near a deal breaker. The hotel associates we dealt with were great. The hotel is located very close to the Woodley Park / Adam Morgan Metro station and is just a few blocks away from the national zoo. Near the hotel are quite a few dining options as well. Will be sure to consider again the next time I'm in the area!
Very nice, big conference hotel with multiple towers and dining facility. comfortably located in a nice area of the city next to the zoo. Very close metro station and lots of restaurants on Connecticut Ave. Staff is very friendly. Nice rooms but showers do need some refurbishments.
"Business event weekend"
We are currently staying at at the Marriott here in DC for two nights. For the past 7 years we've stayed here a few times a year for business events. This is the first time we've been displeased with our room/stay. The room smelled like smoke right as we walked in to start off. I thought, ok it'll dissipate, no need to make a fuss. Proceeded to run the shower and couldn't get the tub to drain well. The lever seemed to be a bit broken that drains the tub. Not to mention the bathroom is out dated and extremely tiny. I almost fell in the shower, due to the tub being extremely slippery for some reason. Not sure if it was cleaning products or if the tub is just so old and worn down it's become slick. Also, couldn't shut the door very easy while still standing in the bathroom. Then the toilet wouldn't stop running unless we opened the tank and messed w the guys of the toilet. These things were all manageable, not big deals truly.... but then when we went to get in bed, late at night after meetings. Two of our pillows seemed to have blood stains on them and dirt marks!!! It was so late we threw the pillows on the floor and went to bed. Called the front desk this morning to let them know about things and she abruptly said "ok we will take care of it." And that was all.... got off the phone. We are not the complaining type, over dumb things. To be Marriott Gold status members (not that is very high up or anything...But we do always stay at Marriotts and are very loyal) and to not even have a, " i'm sorry this all happened." It Was kind of disappointing. And a gross to deal with as well. They did come and clean our room while we went to more meetings for the day. New sheets and pillow covers as well. The tub drain was fixed and the toilet. Glad they did things so fast for us! Just very surprised at the quality of this room as well as the customer service factor.
"Large hotel in a nice area"
I attended this hotel for a conference and the facility seems to be designed mostly for big meetings and conferences. The room are good and what you'd expect for a Marriott. The area is attractive, although not walking distance to tourist attractions. A metro station is adjacent to the property, though. Dining opportunities in the area are rather sparse. The hotel itself has a couple of decent restaurants and a big lobby bar that also serves food. I was impressed by the prompt housekeeping service each day. Personally, I'd stay here for business or a conference, but would probably pick something less massive for a vacation trip.
"Needs some tweaking "
Have stayed here before. Felt this time they were lacking. The staff was great, and rooms were clean. But... 1. Stayed in Park Tower - had to run shower for five minutes to get hot water in sink. 2. The Pantry in the lobby was not prepared for the large group and on Saturday at 4 PM was already running out of food. When it is very cold outside, folks don't want to walk to other restaurants! But, I would not hesitate to stay here again!
