Simply, you will enjoy your stay at the Marriott Wardman Park; the location is incredible. The entrance to Metro is 150 feet or so from the hotel lobby and is without question the best method of transportation in the city (that is if you do not have an preference for Uber or taxi cabs). There are also an impressive diversity of restaurants on the block outside the hotel.Comment of H. Glen , United States the 2015-06-03
I booked this hotel because it was the closest to my meetings. Everything was great except the noise level. It was very loud at night and I could hear everyone in the hallway. I also was disappointed the Starbucks closed at 7pm, which seemed early to me. Otherwise I was very please with my stay.
"Terrible Customer Service"
The reservation staff was rude and ill informed. I asked for a room block and was told they have no more availability under that room block, however, when I called back later and spoke with another associate, I was told there is availability. However, she was very rude and kept speaking over me, she finally hung up on me when I asked to change my current reservation to be under the room block.
"Great for big conferences, not for cozy visits"
I've stayed here at least six times for conferences. Their meeting rooms are appropriate and the staff who deal with audiovisual and computer issues seem responsible and knowledgable. So are the restaurant and housekeeping staff. The coffee/bar/restaurant capacities were almost stretched to their limits with a big group, but working well anyway. The food is not great but okay. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable, no minibar but a small fridge.
"Best Concierge Lounge "
Visiting DC for a conference. I stay at many Marriott properties, but what makes this one special is a lady named Flora who with her colleagues run the Concierge Lounge. I've never met a person so committed to making the guest experience so positive. Flora is friendly, warm, funny and deeply caring about you having a great guest experience. She possesses an owners mentality and is passionate about her customers. Marriott should clone her. This is a really good hotel, but Flora will be the reason for my return trips.
"Very nice convention hotel"
This is a typical convention hotel with over 1000 rooms and many meeting spaces. We were not staying for a convention, rather we have family in the area. We stayed for 9 days and thought it was very good and would stay here again. The staff is wonderful, always cheery and accommodating, from front desk to cleaning staff to the engineer who helped with configuring the room TV to play off of the laptop computer. There is construction all around the front of the hotel but we never heard anything from our room and it did not really impact getting to or from the hotel. Prices for room service food are reasonable.
