Simply, you will enjoy your stay at the Marriott Wardman Park; the location is incredible. The entrance to Metro is 150 feet or so from the hotel lobby and is without question the best method of transportation in the city (that is if you do not have an preference for Uber or taxi cabs). There are also an impressive diversity of restaurants on the block outside the hotel.Comment of H. Glen , United States the 2015-06-03
"sister and nephew trip"
I would like to give a BIG THANKS to SHANNON , I think at the front desk for helping my sister and nephew out. She didn't have a very good start to her trip at another hotel and I was able to get her and my nephew into this hotel for the weekend. I was worried about them first of all being so far from home and her having problems with her first hotel. Shannon was awesome with helping me from the first call to this hotel !! She was also able to get them check in way early and did offer and tell my sister if there is anything else she could do for them to let her know. I want to thank Shannon so much for everything.I had been worried all morning long about where was I going to get my sister moved too , I didn't want my sister worried and stressing with my nephew and being so far from home. Now they get to enjoy the rest of there trip there ! Thanks again Shannon!!
"Elegant hotel with phenomenal service."
I attended BEYA conference and due to my platinum status I had access to the Concierge level of the towers. I wanted to stay in the historic section but I was pleasantly pleased with room 10078. My best experience of the stay was the marvelous service by Flora Cohen the Concierge Attendant for the 10th floor. Flora is so full of life, she's truly a blessing to everyone who enters the Concierge lounge. The view in the lounge is excellent. The view from my room was decent as well. The room amenities were a very nice touch. I liked how the desk swiveled for ease of access. My only issue was the lack of cell phone service in certain areas of the hotel. For instance when I was in the lower levels I didn't have cell phone coverage. The Gym is world class, I wish I was properly equipped to take full use of it, next year I plan to pack accordingly. The food is very good. Service around the board was great. This hotel goes out it's way to please it's guest. Thanks for the parking discount for conference participants.
This Marriott is very big and located near the Washington DC zoo. I have stayed here a couple of times. The rooms are above average size and well kept. They provide more coffee per room than any other Marriott. The gym is one of the best gyms at a Marriott - several treadmills, machines and extensive free weights. Without traffic you can get to the Georgetown area in 15 minutes and the White House area in 20 minutes. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Murphy's Pub was closed all three days that I was there, but yet the hotel as sold-out. I ended up eating a sandwich at the bar - the Louisiana pulled chicken is very good. Beer sold - bottles only; no draft beer (at least at the bar; the Pub maybe different when/if open). Parking is expensive - $50 per night (that could be DC standard'). There is a park nearby that you could use for a nice run or walk. Highly recommend this hotel.
"We went for the Women's March"
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. As soon the women's march was announced, the room rates doubled but I can't really blame them for that, everyone did it. When they realized how much we paid, they did give us a nice suite instead of the regular room we thought we were getting. The hotel is pretty far away from the White House and Museums but by Uber, it was only about $6 a trip and the Metro was very close to the hotel.
"Great hotel with wonderful food!"
I travel for a living and the banquet food at the Marriott Wardman Park is some of the best I have ever had. Chef Abdellah and Chef Beverly and their team do an amazing job. Their attention to special meal request goes above and beyond. It is always a pleasure to visit this wonderful hotel.
