I was with a group of friends staying at the Wellington in Madrid. It's a lovely, comfortable hotel with excellent service. The location could not be better. There are terrific shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. If you're a walker, you can walk to the Prado and the Thyssen museum Extensive buffet breakfast.
I liked this hotel specially the location a few distance from the metro station, but it's doesn't deserve 5 star, it looks 4* but totally it's good, i liked the room furniture it's clean and the bed is comfortable.
Beautiful hotel set in the heart of Madrid. Very helpful staff and doorman. Beautiful rooms and smart, if a little dated, décor. Good facilities and only a walk from many tourist attractions. Lovely breakfast with a great selection.
"Come and be pampered!"
Everything, from the Mercedes pickup from the airport, to checkout after 4 nights, was top notch. Manuel, the Bell Captain (beautiful uniform and top hat) always had a greeting as we came and went from the reception area. The reception staff, in general, helped in every way they could (a faulty Nespresso machine was replaced while we were at breakfast and a flickering light-bulb in the bathroom was sorted in double quick time as well). The magnificent setting for breakfast – complete with mirrored walls and tapestries - did justice to the efforts of the chefs, who were constantly refreshing the displays of first rate food. Needless to say an omelette or poached eggs could be ordered from one of the attentive waiters if one wasn’t in the mood for fried or scrambled, and the buffet seemed endless in its variety. Our Club room overlooked the pool area (usually quiet in the evenings) and had one of the largest wardrobe spaces I’ve ever seen – suitcases simply disappeared and didn’t clutter the comfortable living space. The marble bathroom was more than adequate with shower heads over the bath, his and hers vanity areas, and a separate space for the toilet and bidet. The large bed was extremely comfortable with high quality bedding and pillows. The rooms mini-bar is slightly quirky in that it claims to be electronically monitored so the information tells you that a charge will be made not just for consumption but also if you move anything – odd! I used it to store some of my medication and no mention was made of it at checkout. However, the mini-bar was never a problem because the room had Wellington Club privileges and we could go there for snacks and drinks throughout the day up until 11pm – well worth the extra cost of the room. This intimate space on the 7th Floor has truly personal service and great comfort. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable stay and highly recommendable.

We really really love this hotel. It's central, so beautiful and with a lovely staff. The club room is good and the drinks is delicious. We had a wonderful stay with grate friends. It's lots of small pop up stores in the area, nice Spanish lunch places and coffee shops. Love it !
