"Old but nice place to stay"
It is an old hotel with older fixtures. Good location and staff are friendly. Walking distance to nearby Royal botanic garden and park. The hop on,hop off bus stop is right at the front entrance, very convenient. Acoustic of washroom is so so, you can hear next room sound of shower .
We have just returned home from a wonderful weekend away, staying at the Wellington Hotel and would love to still be there! We always research well and this hotel ticked every box. The room was great with lovely Clarins products and the bed was just right with lots of soft pillows to choose from. The breakfast was spot on and we were glad to have the Wellington club on the 7th floor where Sandy's service was impeccable. The hotel location was good, fairly near to two metro stations and close to the beautiful retiro park and shops. The Christmas lights and bright trees were wonderful to look at whilst wondering around at night :)
I only stayed here for one night but the hotel is beautiful and the staff was great. There were zero things wrong with the room. The Wellington Club had amazing snacks and drinks. And breakfast was insane.
"Must have been great in the 70s... not anymore"
I stayed there for the second time because my assistant booked without asking; would not have otherwise... would much prefer a new clean 4 star in barrio Salamanca like the petit palais or the NH. This place must have been great in the 70s or 80s... but now it is just an old hotel, desperatly needing a face-lift. To be clear it is not a ruin, or as decrepit or dirty-old as the Ritz in Madrid for example ; but it feels like you are staying at your granny's! As my realtor friend says with very little they could turn this into a great hotel. The corridors are scarry which is aggravated by the ice white led lighting -pretty much the sole attempt at modernity the guys tried... The WC looks like a 70s porn scene... On the positives rooms are clean, beds are confortable and the linen is high quality. Service is friendly and professional. Finally, price is also stuck in the 70s, so yes it is a cheap 5 stars... but again I much prefer more expensive and better 4 stars To be honest If you are looking for a five star
"Staff - excellent"
Stayed 5 nights - location excellent. Room was extremely small with two twin beds. Room was always clean. Staff very helpful with any questions. I wish there was information in the room on dining options at the hotel. We stumbled into the bar on our last evening and wish we found it earlier in our stay.
