"Historic, beautiful and great location!"
My wife and I stayed here while traveling through Spain in October. The hotel is extremely nice and very historical with a mid 1920's vibe. The room was nice and quiet and the location was a block away from the metro and only a few blocks away from some major tourist attractions. The only issue I had was that when we attempted to leave at 5am for our flight, the hotel front staff told me I owed them an additional $60 dollars because at the time of my booking someone on their staff made an accounting error. Now, I don't mind paying what is owed but they should have addressed this issue with me during some other time of my two night stay instead of as I'm trying to leave at 5am to catch my flight back to the states. Poorly handled and poor timing. Furthermore, if their staff made the error, should it really be passed on to me'
"Excellent Service & Location"
This is my second time in a year that I stay at this Hotel and will keep staying more time to come. Service, location and the Property itself is simply excellent. There are Excellent Restaurants, Boutiques, Drug Stores and even Alcala Gate all at walking distance.
Had a wonderful stay at the Wellington for 2 days in December.A beautiful room and service was excellent. Staff very helpful and professional. We also attended a wedding in the hotel. Great evening and food excellent.Great location.
Great service. Very kind staff. Perfect location. Gorgeous Club Wellington and breakfasts. Classic chic in the fashion center of Madrid. It only needs improvement at the level of bathrooms, which are pretty oldish.
"This is the last time"
I am staying at the Wellington Hotel. Over the last 15 years I have been staying here a couple of times and I always liked it. However now they must have given up on quality of services and on keeping their rooms in a half way decent way. The 60ies furniture might be charming - the run down (through) carpets aren't. The room is smelly. The bed is tiny. Upon arrival we went to our room which was clearly used because there was an open water bottle, used slippers and left overs of a meal. After a phone call they gave us a different room. They seem to find that quite normal as they neither apologized nor commented this "five star service" in any other way. This place has seen better days and I highly recommend (and will do myself) to look out for a new place to stay in Madrid. Let's see what the breakfast brings tomorrow as this used to be excellent indeed.
