"First Class Sunday Carvery Lunch"
I had the pleasure of going there today Sunday 23/10 for the Carvery Lunch which started at 1pm. I had been there before and only heard recently that the Sunday Carvery Lunch had re-started. The dining area is bright, fresh, clean and welcoming. The starter is buffet style with a wide variety to choose from- all ingredients were wholesome and tasty. Hot starters and soup and rolls were also available. For the main course I had roast beef, a plentiful serving of meat freshly carved to my liking, a selection of vegetables and potatoes, all served in very plentiful amounts. The roast beef cut was one of the best I have ever tasted - tender and cooked to perfection. A selection of other meats were also available. There was a broad choice of desserts and I had the ice-cream selection followed by coffee. After the coffee I went to the lobby and sat on a comfortable sofa to read one of the newspapers provided. All in all a very pleasant experience. The food was top quality. The staff service was highly commendable - prompt, efficient, friendly and helpful and very well organised. It was very good value for money too- 5 courses if you had the soup and a plate of salad for starters at £15.95. I noticed families there for their Sunday Lunch and children were catered for also. I will definitely be making this a regular experience- no hesitation in giving my experience the full 5 stars. I was only there for the Sunday Lunch Carvery- I was not a resident in the hotel.
"Great staff and an excellent venue for functions"
A big thanks to Malachy and his team for hosting our corporate event. Malachy really went the extra mile to accomodate all of our requests and his staff team were helpful, courteous and very professional.

"Could have been better...."
We booked into the "Wellie" because the two Dunmurry hotels - the Beechlawn House and the Balmoral were fully booked for a wedding. Our difficulty in finding the hotel was down to the deficiencies of my operation of the GPS which sent us to the Malone golf club instead of Malone road, but that was sorted by a kind gentleman from the club who guided us to our destination. The receptionists gave the impression, which I could not prove in a court of law, that they were less than concerned with our needs for onwards transport (taxi) to the Dunmurry shindig, but they ultimately succeeded in finding transport which got us to our destination after a prolonged interrogation of his GPS.... On a more serious vein, our room (135) had two major faults. One was the bad adjustment/positioning of the striker plate for the bathroom lock so that it doesn't operate. The door cannot be closed. The other was the fact that the "work surface" - the structure for the refreshments, notes & everything was hanging at an alarming angle from the wall. That apart, I've known worse.........
My husband and I had our wedding reception here in May. It was fabulous! Everything went smoothly! A special mention to Veronika who went above and beyond to look after us the entire night and the chef even put on extra food and treats for us! Everything else was fantastic!! Would definate recommend and would go again.. Thanks for all your help!!
