Nice warm rooms with umbrellas for the rain. Pool area was unclear as to what you are entitled too. But close to tram so it is well connected. Check in was fine. They have a bag drop service which is also helpful
"Early December city break"
We spent a very enjoyable 3 day break here in early December. We arrived very early: 10:00 - check-in time was 15:00 but the reception staff couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming and gave us a room straight away. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the main road but we experienced very little noise or disturbance from it. The room was a good size with an excellent king sized bed which was very comfortable. It was well equipped with free safety deposit box, free wifi, tea/coffee making facilities and large flat screen TV. There was also good cupboard/wardrobe space. However, one feature that was unusual was that the bath/shower area off the main room that had see-through doors [the toilet was separate] a feature we would have liked very much in our youth, but now in our 60's took some getting used to!!! The bar and restaurant areas were smart and modern - the staff working in both these areas were first class. The breakfasts had plenty of choice and variety and it made for an excellent start to the day. Some reviewers thought the hotel was a little distance out of the central areas but we didn't find this a problem. We took advantage of the 72 hour public transport pass obtained from reception - and for 17euros each found it excellent value. Two tram routes took us to the Dam or Central Station [#1&17]. For those more energetic guests, the hotel offered a bicycle hire service - to say bikes are popular in Amsterdam would be a gross understatement! Within walking distance of the hotel was the Vondelpark, a very large impressive parkland area which we thought was well worth a visit. As for the attractions in Amsterdam we found that some of them e.g. Anne Frank House needed online booking to avoid the huge queues. The hotel could arrange a "avoid the queue booking" system for some but not all the tourist magnets. We did visit the Rijksmuseum which was very good with no queuing and we'd recommend this attraction which houses Rembrandt's "The Night Watch" & Vermeer's "The Milkmaid" among many, many, other great works of art. Finally, no visit to Amsterdam should miss out on the almost obligatory [but fascinating] canal cruise. We found an operator near the Central Station offering a 9 euro 1 hour cruise which proved to be excellent value. All in all we had a memorable break in Amsterdam - and we must recommend the West Cord Fashion Hotel as a very good base for seeing the attractions.
I had a fantastic time at the westcord fashion hotel for my 40th birthday . It's a bit of a travel to dam sq so you definitely need a travel card but a nice journey .The hotel staff are great and the cocktails in the skyy bar are lovely I will be going back soon
"4 day birthday break in Amsterdam"
Had a wonderful stay at the WestCord Fashion Hotel. Getting to the hotel was so easy, just a 15 minute journey via a train and a tram, Check in was very smooth and the reception staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Very helpful, especially when we challenged them with finding out the best mode of transport to reach a Christmas market and ferry port outside of Amsterdam! Kindly, as it was mine and my boyfriends birthday during our stay the hotel manager Nico gifted us with a cocktail each in the stunning SKYY Bar, on the tenth floor of the hotel. Hosts within the bar were so attentive, great food, décor, drinks, atmosphere, everything! We went back again during our stay. The rooms are spacious and contain everything you need. The Wellness Spa is a lovely added bonus too. We purchased a 4 day transport card for €21 which allowed us to use the trams, metro and bus services within Amsterdam. Very helpful as you need to get a 15 minute tram to the centre so definitely made the most of our tickets. Would definitely stay at the WestCord again and recommend it to anyone!
Fantastic, beautiful hotel, not far from city centre, only 10 minute tram ride. Rooms are lovely and comfy beds. We didn't eat in hotel but lovely bar on 10th floor with fantastic views. Friendly and helpful staff
