"Nice place to relax."
We stayed for 10 days at this great resort. They have several heated pools, a good resturant and activities for everyone. The grounds are immaculate and the staff are always smiling and friendly. There is shuttle service on the property. The golf course looks beautiful (we do not play). Will probably come back again.
This Westin is part of the Starwood package of villa's which offer the ability to expand your room. Even the single bedroom has plenty of size and a very good mattress on the pull-out couch bed. The pool has an excellent water slide for kids and all sorts of activities as well. The restaurants are good and somewhat reasonably priced. There is a lot of other restaurants in the area within a 10 minute drive to choose from. The only downside I found was that it is not pet friendly which could be a good thing for some people.
"A little souless but nice facilities..construction annoying.."
My title kind of says it really.. its a nice modern property, with rooms that are a good size, reasonably well equipped (the kitchen is nowhere near as good as those in the nearby Marriott resort) , nice beds (though nowhere near as life changing as the marketing seeks to suggest..they have one in the reception lobby for goodness sakes), nice sized bathrooms, nice restaurant and OK pool area. There is no real buzz about the place but to be fair..this is mid January so I am likely being unfair..and maybe no buzz is the objective. But it is a holiday weekend (MLK Day). Only irritating thing for me was that construction workers were talking very loudly at 6.30 am waking me..and were actually working and making real noise at 7.07am..I checked...I stayed in Building 18 and they are building another building next door I prefer the Marriott resorts close by, not least because you can walk tot the JW Marriott hotel and enjoy the facilities there so you get the best of both worlds.. But this place is absolutely worth a visit and my comments above are meant to assist fellow travellers rather than criticize Westin management.
"Relax & Unwind... the Westin Desert Willow Villas was the perfect spot for us!"
I think this place is a great spot to relax & unwind from your busy life. We came to the desert to golf and unwind from our busy life... the Westin was the perfect spot for us! We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa with a "heavenly" king-size bed, full kitchen, living room w/ fireplace, washer/dryer, spa tub, rain shower, and private deck. The staff was very friendly & helpful. The facilities and grounds were clean & well maintained. Agave Grill (the onsite restaurant) had good food and service the two times we ate there. It is very relaxed and not your typical Westin restaurant. We loved the Westin burger for a late lunch one day, and had breakfast the other. There are several pools, one is an "adult only," which we appreciated. The large pool has slides and activities for children. The big pool also has cabanas you can rent, a bar & snack shack. There is also a excellent work out room, steam bath and sauna to use. The resort is large and it takes a while to figure things out, but what a great way to unwind in the warm desert... when it is below freezing back home! We will return.
"Golf, Great food and Service "
