"Beautiful property, management trying hard."
Just got back from our second trip to the Westin Desert Willow Villas. Although we had some mix-ups with rooms, all is forgiven, and management bent over backwards to try to fix it. Their desk could use a bit of perking up when greeting new arrivals, but Janay and Mitzi were really nice and tried very hard. Ryan Ramsey, the security supervisor, was filling in for the vacationing manager, and he was GREAT--very attentive and helpful. There are three pools--one mostly kid friendly, another for families, and (my favorite) the Quiet Pool, which has no kid attractions and yoga/new age music. The restaurant, Agave, is excellent; I can't get enough of their BBQ sliders. The rooms themselves are slightly smaller than its sister villa, Westin Mission Hills, but just fine. There is still construction on the property, so be sure to check if you're going to be placed near it. This would be a great family vacation place.
"Nice Little Get-away"
We used some of our timeshare points to try the Westin out. The room was nice, came with all the standard furnishings. Staff was extremely friendly. We especially enjoyed the Quiet Pool with no screaming children but the new-age music, which I assume was supposed to be relaxing became an irritant after a couple hours. We were disappointed with the view from our lanai. What good is living by a golf course when all you see is brush'
"Awesome all around!"
Highly recommend this resort for family or couple. Awesome all around! We had the pool to ourselves for a couple of the days we were there. Staff very friendly, wide range of food options available and our room was very clean with a large patio and nice view. The only complaint would be the waterslide - the lifeguard and staff member at the top seemed to only be there for a few minutes at a time a couple times a day. Would definitely come back!
I have stayed her numerous times, and I really like this resort. The views are simply stunning, and it's far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city so that you can completely relax. This time around, housekeeping was definitely subpar, unfortunately. And the mattress is getting a bit lumpy, so it wasn't a perfect day. But all in all I liked it very much
"Fun in the Sun!"
We just got back from staying at this resort. We traded our timeshare through interval and got 3 rooms in total so a large 1br with full kitchen and what they call a 2 br but which is really a large 1 br and small 1 br with no kitchen. Check in was quick and great-nice lobby. I love that you can only get into resort through gate with a parking pass. Our rooms were great. I loved that we weren't owners but got pretty much what we requested. We were in building 3 on bottom floor on golf course around corner from main pool. The rooms had everything-nice kitchens, laundry, dining table for 6, patio, large bedroom/bathroom, fireplace etc.. The lock off small 1 br was nice because it was it's own apartment. The grounds were immaculate. Tons of staff riding around in carts always willing to help. The brought us toothbrushes, took us to/from pool, extra sheets etc.. The main pool was great-so much to do for all ages. The kids pool with big slide and water volleyball/basketball was below as was a pool table, kids club, gym etc.. The more adult pool was up above with a great bar with 6 TV's, poolside service etc.. Plenty of shaded lounge chairs so no problem finding them but we usually arrived at pool around noon. The food and drinks at the bar and poolside was great-not too pricey and daily special drinks esp. sunday at bar for football games. Service good too. There is a basketball court and great restaurant above pool. The grounds of the resort were impeccable. Our kids played golf on the mountain course and loved it. The course is challenging. Good prices because off season so $60 after 9 am. We only ordered room service once but it arrived 15 minutes later. Top of the line service. We stay at some nice resorts around the world and I usually never give 5 stars but can't think of any negatives here. We usually stay at Marriott Shadow Ridge or Desert Springs but this is our new favorite so plan on coming a couple of times a year. My parents have been coming since it opened and love it. Coming back in November.
