We booked the room through Hotwire, we were very pleased with this! The room was very clean and smelled wonderful, beds were comfortable with no funny smell. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in town.
It may seem silly to some, but it was a big family bonus to have a Pokéstop right at the hotel. Didn't even have to leave the room! Room was comfortable. Hotel shuttle was very quick. Decorated very nicely. Table in lobby had plenty of charging stations.
"The staff is wonderful"
It was time again for the Westin to host Medal of Honor recipients, Military, VIP guests and functions for Sky Ball. I volunteer my time for Sky Ball at the hotel to assist guests with getting their room keys, Sky Ball tickets and anything else they may need. The hotel staff were so friendly and accommodating. They worked quickly and efficiently with anything from guest relations, catering/banquet funtions, facilities, housekeeping services. Saturday morning started with an American Fallen Soldiers Project breakfast and portrait presentation to a family of a fallen Special Ops soldier who lost his life in combat. It was an event that couldn't be rushed and it ran late. We had to convert the Trinity ball room from dining tables to rows of seating for a movie showing. Gary Sinise hosted a preview of Hacksaw Ridge for veterans and Sky Ball guests. The man in charge of the banquet rooms got his staff to transform the room fast and efficiently. Every staff person in that room should be commended and the man in charge should get a bonus. I wish I could remember his name. I can't say enough good things about everyone who works at the Westin. The hotel is nice but getting a little worn. It is time for new carpet and some updates, but it is still comfortable.
"Thanks to Deborah and James!"
The hotel itself is not as upscale as the other Westins I've visited, including the Westin at BWI Airport. But it's an OK choice near DFW. Customer service is strong there, though. I'm grateful for Deborah Wingate, who helped me in advance of my visit and who was efficient, generous and responsive. Another standout staffer was James, the shuttle driver, who was patient with me as I figured out which terminal I needed to be dropped off at for my flight (American flyers have several terminal options there -- you need to know your specific terminal and gate prior to drop off). James was great. (Plus, the shuttle really is a good deal, as it's $25 by cab to get to/from DFW.) My suite was at the very end of the hotel on the airport side. Planes were taking off right over my room when I first arrived (and it was really loud, as you might expect) but they didn't seem to use that same flight route at night (which I was grateful for). While my suite was large, it looked a little worn out -- large rip in the carpet in the bedroom, stains on the couch in the living room. On the plus side, the size of the suite was really nice, and the shower water pressure was great. I was happy that I got a lot of work done in the suite, thanks to a large workspace (thanks again, Deborah). The rooftop pool/workout area is nice for the size (it's pretty small but well equipped). The food was definitely a notch under the usual Westin fare in terms of quality. If I stayed there again, I would probably Uber to eat elsewhere (as there aren't any restaurants other than Denny's within walking distance). Again, I know airport hotels aren't usually as nice as downtown ones, but I may have been a little spoiled by the Westin at BWI, which had some delicious food (and very upscale decor). This Westin seemed less "Westin-y" than I expected, if that makes sense.
"Great Front desk staff"
Wanted to thank Cory (sorry if I'm spelling that wrong) for his quick and painless check in process. Also later for helping me find my SPG number. He has a great attitude and he treats everyone like they are royalty. After staying in your general Holiday Inns enough coming to a Westin like this makes you feel quite fancy. Lovely entrance way. Had a great conversation with the van driver on the way from the airport. Comfy and clean room.
