The Westin Las Vegas Casino & Spa is just one block from the famous Las Vegas “Strip,” offering you easy access to its dizzying array of casinos, dining for all tastes, and pulsing nightlife.
Very good value. Great room. Pool was very nice although pool smaller than expected. I would definitely stay here again.Comment of P. Amarjit , Canada the 2016-04-07
"Super 8, not "Westin""
I'm staying in hotel as a write this. I am terribly unhappy with the stay thus far. The hotel is titled Westin but I can very much say this is not a Westin experience. I feel like I'm staying a Super 8. The first room they gave me smelled like smoke (really bad), I called and they said my nose must be off. After reading reviews this is clearly an issue in many of the room within the hotel. I switched rooms after waiting 45mins. I get in the new room, smell is no where near as bad. I start getting ready for bed. First, I close the blinds, only to discover they let in light from outside (every hotel on strip I've stayed at has blackout blinds that actually work), the bed is atrociously hard, this is not the traditional Westin bed you get everywhere else. Sleeping is difficult as I can here every loud exhaust and motorbike that drives by. Not to mention the elevator 3 doors down, I think my door might be made of paper as I can hear anything within 3-4 doors away. I go to iron my shirt in the morning.... black debris comes out of iron steam holes all over my white shirt. This will be the last time I stay here. I'd rather go somewhere on the strip and forfeit collecting SPG points. There are plenty of good hotels nearby within same price range. I'm so happy this was a quick 3 day work trip and not a vacation I planned with my girlfriend. I wish I could leave the hotel and go somewhere else but that would require cancel fee and an inconvenient move. I'm very close to considering it though and I think they point alone sums up my review. This hotel should be relabeled Super 8, not Westin. Please do yourself a favor and stay at another hotel. The positive comments that are on this page and the SPG.com iPhone app are clearly hotel employees, read enough of the "positive" reviews and you'll start to see what I mean.
When you're checking into the Westin, if you need to be anywhere by 6 o'clock or 7 o'clock, (like a Vegas show), expect to be sent to the spa to shower. Check-in here is a nightmare, rooms were not to be ready by 3 pm, 45 people were ahead of me in line, I was told; so no,even though I was told I could check in at 3 o'clock, I would probably not be in my room till 5 o'clock. I had to request a manager in order to get into my room in time to make my 530 show. I did not pay this much money to use the spa facilities as my own personal bathroom. This is not a dormitory! If I had wanted to do that I would've stayed at a hostel. I did not relish the idea of unpacking my things in the spot and repacking to move them up to my room. Thank you to desk clerk Spencer, he made sure I got into a room in time for shower and the show. The other 45 people checking in as I left were probably not so lucky. Booked a massage, could not get to me till 5 o'clock. OK, I said, instead of going out and doing something cool while I'm in Vegas, I'll sit in my room and watch "gladiator" on TV for a couple hours and wait for my massage time. My choice, no prob, massage would be worth the wait. Fast forward 4:30, only two of six elevators working, my wait time for an elevator is exactly 8 minutes. I timed it because it seemed rather long earlier. Eight minutes, for an elevator. Escorted into the relaxing/ waiting room I drink some fruit-infused water and relax for 20 minutes when the masseuse comes in to inform me that the AC unit has been down for a couple hours and they are not doing any massages today. You couldn't call me' Maybe I could've taken a shower and spend the afternoon out on the town' Instead of sitting in my room waiting for absolutely nothing but your elevators. Really frustrating. Wasted two hours sitting around my hotel room' If only they had called me... rude. I'm told I have to be out of my room for it by 11:00 AM, and that they would watch my bags if I wanted to hang out in the city before my ride to the airport at 5 pm... Dare I leave my bags at the desk' If I have to wait in line to retrieve them I may miss my flight. I guess I'll just hang out the airport tomorrow. I will say that the food here is delish, The waiters were on the ball, and the beds and rooms are incredibly spacious and comfortable. But I'll never stay here again.
The hotel name "Westin" carries a certain distinction and level of class. Sadly, this Westin reminds me more of a very nice Holiday Inn. First off, the location is terrible. It's a taxi drive for sure or a long, long walk to the strip. Secondly, the rooms have no flair or excitement to them. Of course the beds are wonderful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. If you're looking for that "wow" factor Vegas hotel experience, find a different hotel. It's definitely a nice place but set your expectations low. Probably more designed for business travel if you catch my drift.
"Great Hotel, Professional Staff"
Stayed at this hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. Room was beautiful and clean. The staff was courteous and professional. A small gaming area off of the lobby was cozy and not as bustling as other venues. A power outage involving many local hotels, occurred during our check in. The staff jumped into action calming everyone down and making adjustments to accommodate customers. My one complaint was with the speed of the internet in the rooms. It was sluggish and not up to modern standards. Will definitely stay here again.
"Good Place to Stay but Kind of Worn"
I stayed at the Westin while on business (a vendor show at the Sands Expo). It was a relatively quiet hotel within walking distance of the Sands Expo. The hotel is old but I found it to be clean and the staff was exceptional. I ate at the the bar one evening and had room service another night. The food was okay but I found the menu to be extremely limited. As I was in Las Vegas to work I found this hotel to be acceptable and convenient. The hotel does add a $24.99 amenity charge for each day. This covers WiFi and I am not sure what else.
